Toshiba Canvio 1TB Portable HD $69 @ Dick Smith Click & Collect

640
FRENZY20

Great deal for Dick Smith Click & Collect, especially considering you can pricematch at Officeworks with free delivery (some people reporting pricematch not working). Available in blue & red. Seems there's plenty of stock at every postcode I tried. Use code FRENZY20 at checkout.

EDIT: Dick just pulled a shifty (7:25am) and increased the price by $9. Post updated.

        Prices have changed dude

Officeworks won't price match this type of deal. Tried it once, failed.

From their "Lowest Price Guarantee" page,
"What items are excluded from the LPG?"
      "Cash back and coupon offers"

This is a coupon offer, the coupon is "FRENZY20".

      • A work colleague just ordered the red one through OW for $65.55 delivered by calling the 1300 number. I'm guessing OW will probably reduced their prices soon to match DSE.

        • I just tried and they refused to match it.
          :(

  • 89-20=69? (Dicksmith)

    • Perfect (Maths)

      • Lol I was clarifying that the price increased as the original deal had it for 61$… Now 69$ :x

  • +1

    $69 now

  • It's still $61 (on check out it changes to $81)

    • Ok I take that back it seems to be at that price now…bummer

dick smith are the worst, it's like they wait for their item to hit front page on ozbargain then they jack up prices.

    • +1

      yeap

and they do all the time with ebay % discounts sales

they need to be fined by ACCC

      • I don't get why you would need to rob dicksmith to solve the problem. yes they are scumbags for sure but ebay discounts is a ebay/paypal thing, if they don't like dicksmith doing this kind of stuff, they can just not partner with dicksmith.

Will they refund difference if an item was purchased online last night?
Or will it be easier to return it?

  • Still await the gift card deal from other night and why does DS prices change like the weather? I thought petrol prices variance bad enough…

    • The minute they send the gift cards out, the specials will stop. Dick Smith form

      • Yeah seems that way…. half regeret getting the gift card. Missing out on a product special may negate the discount of the gc.

        • +2

Still, gift cards will work for a year. You'll definitely find a good use for them in that year.

Everything I wanted doubled in price in the last hour before I check out. They were in my cart at a certain price when prices suddenly doubled. Thanks but no thanks.

Yep, the old bait and switch. I believe that to be illegal in Australia

It is USB 2.0 speeds according to Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Canvio-Connect-Portable-HDTC71…) but 3.0 according to Toshiba (http://www.toshiba.com/us/accessories/Portable/1TB/Connect/H…). Customer reviews on Toshiba site is a worry, but Amazon has great ratings.

    • +1

it appears to have USB 3… however slow speed.

  • Are Toshiba hard drives more reliable since its Japanese? My last hard drive was a seagate and it stopped working on me after 3 months!

I would have bitten at $61, but I can't justify buying this now considering the 2tb canvio basics is $128 at MSY. Same dollar/gb ratio.

    • +1

But from Dick Smith 2TB Canvio Basic is only $109 after the coupon code.

However it seems out of stock from Sydney Metropolitan area.

      • Nice, didn't notice that! Good deal for the 2gb in that case.

EDIT: Out of stock in all the melbourne stores too unfortunately. I ended up getting the Toshiba Canvio Simple 2tb for $119.

  • Has anyone had any luck price matching with Officeworks??
I tried but was rejected as the DSE sale uses a coupon.
