MSY - Razor Taipan Mouse $39, Kraken Neon Headset $39, Edimax Wi-Fi AC USB3.0 Adapter $27 + More

490

A few good deals in here.

Most notably the Razer gaming mouse for $39 (was $69)

LG IPS 29UM55 29 inch monitor for $399 (was $549)

DLink DSL-2880AL Gigabit and Wifi AC modem for $129 (was $149). This modem however has a few teething issues according to WP. TP Link Archer D7 may be better value.

Edimax AC600 USB3 wireless networking NIC with high-gain directional antenna for $27

and Kraken Pro Neon for $59 (was $79)

There are some mixed reviews regarding the Edimax AC600 wifi adapter but it does appear that the Edimax software is a bit dodgy — best to leave the software uninstalled and use a generic driver.

Can recommend the Razer Taipan, especially if you're left-handed. Great mouse.

For $39 it's pretty amazing. I'd recommend it at its normal price of $69.

  • Have been after that exact colour razer kraken pro for ages and my headset died today so! is this in-store only or? when does it start? need to buy that headset NOW! :)

My shitty Magic Mouse keeps losing its Bluetooth connectivity, like 3 times in an hour. This razor mouse will come in handy. Thanks!

    • Try unplugging your usb 3 devices.

    • Using the correct batteries?

    • Disappearing act?

  • Looking for a good deal on a psu. Mouse sounds good, will grab one, thanks

  • Has the deal started yet? Site still shows $69 for the Taipan.

  • Looks good deals

  • For the dcs-942L to access to recorded SD content do you have to remove the SD card and put into computer or can you access the stored data via the WiFi/lan signal?

    • after some reasearch it seems you can access directly the sd card save videos via the D-link portal.

however with only say 32gb or 64gb sd cards i don't see how usefull the recording will be for say more than 1 hour recording per day. e.g a shop

there does seem to be a save to FTP option though…. hmmm more money now for a cloud server

  • How much is delivery?
Don't really want to wait in line…

  • Any thoughts on the gaming monitor LG 29um55 ?

  • Everything still shows normal prices?

  • Can the lg monitor run on a generic dell business machine desktop. Or do I need a special graphics card?

    • It's got HDMI (two) and one Displayport. Your computer needs to have either one of these, or you will need to convert a DVI connection to a HDMI one using adapters. You can buy this adapter from MSY.

Monitor also has speakers (but very tinny ones).

      • thanks man, my machine has HDMI out and VGA out.

the max resoultion of the monitor can be displayed regardless of what video card i have?

  • I want the 2890AL!!!

  • Not seeing the discount on the headsets.

    • Not working at all!

  • Has anyone been able to access the specials online yet?

Edit: Nvm, seems the deal has finally gone live.

  • i got the LG monitor, but the damm driver CD doesnt work. I cant seem to find the driver download available from the LG website either.

anyone can give me a copy of the driver?

      • Already downloaded those. They are programs for setting up dual display.

There on the one of the two CDs provided. There's a second CD which says "monitor driver"

        Thats not available for download

        • I don't think you need the driver. Windows will apply it. The driver might have had custom ICC colour profiles but I don't think it matters.

        • @fryandlaurie:

not sure why i only get 1980x1080 resolution then. there is no higher resolution i can choose.

I have a raedon 4300 which has max resolution of 2560x1600

          any ideas?

        • @tc4101: Try updating the Radeon drivers perhaps? You're using HDMI right? Might be worth trying DVI.

        • +1

@tc4101: The max specs for this monitor is 2560 x 1080. It is still 1080p monitor, the only difference is that it is wide hence 2560 X 1080p.

        • @fryandlaurie:

i use the included HDMI->HDMI cable wont go past 1920x1080 resolution

i tried HDMI -> DVI cable now and it allows me to go the 2560x1080 resolution, however the pixels are all distorted at that resolution

  • Only Razer mice on special because people only buy razer's disappointing mice. -_-

  • will dick or jb price match the mouse?

    • +1

Most likely they will call up MSY and have no one pick up, then claim unreachable as an excuse to not pricematch.
Also, the one MSY is selling on special is the white taipan, Jbhifi will defs say it's not an identical item (because the one they sell is the original black one), also say something like it's below cost if you try to argue.
For comparison, JBHifi sells the black one for $99, most computer stores have the black taipan for $69-$80.
$39 is an insane price for any colour taipan.

        JB Hifi is a joke.

I wonder who actually buys their products at those prices. They are an official distributor of Steelseries and their prices are atleast double what they should be .

  • Just ordered the Razer Taipan. Currently using Razer Lachesis which is pretty old now but still doing OK. My only concern with the Taipan it is a little smaller and my hands are on the larger side….will see when it arrives.

  • I picked up the Taipan yesterday. I must say I'm pretty disappointed in it, the ambidextrous design is super uncomfortable IMO.

    • Lucky I passed. I'll stick to the death adder
