I have been using these headphones for a few years, originally got them from the US when the dollar was a lot better.

These headphones are normally $300 or so, used to be $400 a year or two ago, I was shocked to see them at <$200.

Great audio, very durable (I leave them in my gym bag which I throw around all the time), all parts are replaceable very easily/cheaply.

Cannot recommend these enough.

    • Hello Brother.

  • Been using these headphones for years. Cannot recommend them enough. Seeing them below $200 is amazing

  • +2

Ah, targetted, bummer, well if anyone wants my voucher let me know

    • Do you happen to still have that voucher? :)

      • Don't need this now.

  • +5

After seeing this deal I signed up to the online newsletter and received the voucher straight away - thanks!

    • Wow I don't know what is going on with their system. If I try to sign up on their homepage, it confirms that I will receive the newsletter on a completely wrong email address!
If I log in to my JBHifi account and try to sign up, it says it will send me something straight away, but nothing has come through.

      • I'm getting the same thing. It keeps giving me an email [email protected] (censored personal information) even when I sign up with different emails.

Maybe you should change the link to a screenshot, as your email address is visible and you can be unsubscribed etc.

    • Thank you, took a screen shot instead

I have a voucher that I am not going to use. If anyone wants it let me know.

I have the email .. send me a PM if you are still after one.. good price.. too bad, I like my IEMs more

  • Is this really that good? I am tempted and have the Sol Mastertracks and Senheiser Momentum on Ear.

    • I received the offer and am a sucker for discount headphones LOL. After doing some research, I would say they are a good price, and look to be good for professional use. However, it looks like they have a fairly clinical sound. I have Grado's and Momentum's and doubt I would enjoy these as much. See:

      http://www.head-fi.org/products/sennheiser-hd-25-1-ii-profes…

Anyone looking for the voucher PM me…

      • Thanks, I am trying to find an excuse not to buy this as have not been using the Sol and Momentum enough to buy another set.

      • +3

They're monitors (the HD25-1 IIs), so they're supposed to be "clinical". You need to be able to decipher the various frequencies in the sound you're monitoring/mixing, and you can't if they're overdriven in any one part of the spectrum. You'll either over or underdrive the output to make the sound in the headphone monitors "right" and by doing that (if the phones are bass or mid or high end heavy), the mix you out over your P/A will be totally screwed (unless you're playing to a crowd of lagered up yobs who don't care what it is you're playing).

        • Thanks for the info. Is the 'clinical' sound the general selling point of headphones that are marketed as 'DJ headphones'?

        • Hence my comment "and look to be good for professional use". But not something I would listen to Tidal with away from my automated desk ;-)

        • @mostlygordon:

          Hi MostlyGordon.

I did see that, but you follow it up with a "However". Which leads me to think you misunderstand the nature of the product.

I've had a pair for 15 years and they're awesome for their intended purpose.
If you just want to use them as regular headphones though, I'd go for something else. They probably are too clinical if you like a bigger sound, but the real killer is that these things WILL hurt your ears given enough time wearing them. They isolate sound by ramming the cups on your ears pretty hard. Albeit, I do have a massive bobble head so that doesn't help.

          cheers

    • I have both the Adidas HD25s and Momentum on Ears. My understanding is that the Momentums were based on an HD25 design but optimized for the modern look with the sound also tweaked.

  • +1

Let me know if you need voucher. I am not going to use it.

  • where are these manufactured these days - still EU made?

  • my eyes are on these and the ATH-M50X. Care to share what your ears say about these headphones?

    • +1

I'm not a full blown audiophile or whatever, but I did put in a tonne of research before purchasing these.

In no way was I disappointed. Music was so crisp yet deep, not as bassy as beats obv. I listen to all sorts of rock from pop punk to metalcore. They blocked out surrounding noise really well on planes /trains etc. The design came in handy at gym (stayed on my head through bench press, squats, rows etc.)

There should be a crap load of reviews that can assist you better than I did haha

      • @nicholasnbg, thanks! Have you also tried M50X? Both have good reviews.

    • Bought a pair of the M50x's a few weeks ago and they're amazing, I liked them more than this offer because the build quality is slightly better, the M50x's are very flexible and sturdy.

  • Are these the replacement for sennheiser's amperior series?

    • +3

No, these headphones have been around for nearly thirty years I think. Started life as TV Studio monitoring headphones. Pretty popular for DJs though for the ruggedness, tightness and ability to replace individual parts.

  • +1

Here's my coupon for anyone who wants it. You can buy 2 of them with 1 coupon, I think?!

    • Thanks, I used this!

      • You're welcome. Hope you enjoy it! I'm good with a pair of Sennseiher HD201 for which I paid $35 two years ago.

  • These are pretty great. Tight, not overbearing bass, clean highs, and excellent isolation.

Be warned, they so clamp pretty hard so can be uncomfortable after a while.

  • They are very good headphones but you can send yourself deaf as they can handle high amounts of power easily without distorting. They sit on top of your ear (as opposed to covering your ear) and I found them a bit unstable on my head.

  • +1

Do they come with a mic ?

    • no mic

  • Just subscribe & you will get the offer. Note that you can only use the voucher once, can't photocopy & use multiple times. I did this on another offer & the code didn't work.

  • +1

The parts can't be replaced cheaply.

    • -1

I don't know what you're talking about. One of the main features of these cans are every single part can be replaced.

      • -1

the key word MN is using is "cheaply". he didn't say you can't do it…

  • +2

Actually you can grab these for around AUD$200-230 shipped from the UK, which is what I paid for when I got mine about a year ago. <$200 locally is a very good deal nonetheless.

On a side note, for a similar price point, I'd honestly choose the Audio Technica ATH M50x.

    • Yeah I paid $240 shipped from a US store a few years back, but given the dollar has crapped itself this is likely as good as it will get I reckon.

  • ive been waiting for 1 for a long time!! .. . anyone not using their voucher/code??

  • +1

I wore these from upwards of three hours every day for 2+ years and they are still in great condition. I have upgraded since then because I did get somewhat bored of the sound. None the less, for our Aussie dollar, this is a great price.

If anyone wants my voucher, pm me.Voucher has been used

bought the Adidas version in 2012, for $199 delivered.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67040

Sold it after a while for $199 as I didn't use it much. But the value of this headphone is great.

    • +2

Also bought a pair in 2012, but for $160 (distinctly remember it was from DSE during a headphone sale), and then sold it 2 years later after extensive use for a little over $200. Funny how that works.

      Great pair of headphones.

  • Got a unused voucher, if anyone wants it PM me.

  • Pm me if you want.

  • Feles like i'm back in yahoo chat pm me for a good time or if you want this voucher.

      sent u one

Got these when they were $130 on sale in the US years and years ago. Good to see these are still around. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

For this price, a STEAL. Forget about Momentums, my on-ears for almost the same money don't come close. Just brown, retro and funky. Warmer perhaps.

    Pros:

    Amazing ability to handle power/pressure
precise sound, accurate and yes, clinical, a good word.
great with heavier styles of music, hip hop, electronic, rock, metal etc

    CONS:
Requires solid power and clean source for best performance.
not comfortable for long listening sessions
sound bleed at higher volumes, could be an issue in public places

  • I have the Adidas version of the Sennheiser HD25-1 II from a prior bargain NIB/never used which I would be prepared to part with for $160.

PM me if anyone is interested.

When I enter my email address, it indicates:
"You will receive an email confirmation shortly at [email protected]"

That is in no way the email address I entered. I don't have anything to do with icloud, apple hardware, or services.

    Thought, ozb'ers?

    • Hey man that's my email address. Please censor it.

  • If anyone has one they're not using could you please PM Me :) Thank you :)

  • ARGH! I want it! The price is amazing but my wallet is empty :'(

  • I love these. Had mine for over 10 years, they sound great and look new (with new foam ear pads). I tried the Momentum on-ear when they were on special but the sound does not compare IMO.

The only downside is that, being on-ear headphones, they can clamp a bit hard if wearing for many hours. But this is the price you pay for good isolation.

  • I have 3 of these and I still want another for the all black colour…

  • Can someone please pm me if not using it? Thanks

    • just turned my pm on to anyone with a code they are not going to use thanks

  • So are these pretty tight? I got the over-ear Momentums a while back and they hurt after an hour or so, I'm looking for something more comfortable.

    • really? Damn I was looking to get those Momentums… hmmm

    • They are - I wouldn't advise getting them if you want comfort.

  • i have a voucher i dont want, as i already have a pair…. top price, for top headphones

    • could you PM me it? TIA

  • I'd love a coupon/voucher.

  • I would also love a coupon if somebody was kind enough to help a brother out!

  • anyone with a spare it would be greatly appreciated

  • i'd like a coupon please
    thank you dudes

  • FYI I found a couple of Sennheiser Amperiors for $169 next to the HD25s. The model is discontinued and the boxes seemed worse for wear but they are superior to the HD25s. Normal retail price for the Amperiors is $350.

  • just got these a week after putting in my order…

they are like a vice grip on my head -_-

    sound is good quality
