GardenExpress - Bulbs 75 Freesia $9, 20 Jonquil Erlcheer $9, 100 Ranunculi $9 + $9.50 Delivery

80

Just got an email from Garden Express with their latest online offers.

They have reduced their spring-flowering bulbs, and the good value ones are:

The 240 bulb showbag mix is still available.

As it is now almost the end of April, don't delay placing your order if you want to plant your bulbs, in the past they can take a while to dispatch orders.

Their plant specials are both checking out too - just bear in mind that delivery fee might increase if your order contains large items.

Delivery is $9.50 if your order does not contain large items, however:

A $4 Quarantine Inspection Surcharge applies in addition to the Delivery Charge for orders delivered to Tasmania, Northern Territory and Western Australia due to the increased complexity of quarantine requirements.

Iko reported in the previous deal that pick up from Monbulk VIC is possible.

  • Can these be planted now or do they need to be stored in the fridge ?

They should be fine planted now, unless you are in a warmer climate and you're trying to grow tulips.

The freesias, jonquils and ranunculi have done well for me (Sydney).

      Edit: No need for refrigeration.

      • I had lots of freesias, but the wife pulled them out… :(

        • Mistook them for onion weed?

        • @moocher:

Every time she decides to do 'weeding' half the plants end up coming out too… Gardening is definitely not her forte…

        • @jv: :) Maybe plant the freesias once and keep her from weeding that patch. They will multiply and flower for many years.

You mean put up "Keep Out" signs or something similar ?

          @jv:

          or a leash

          whatever floats your boat ;)

        • @jv: Whatever is effective :)

        • At least you know it was pulled out. Mine was disappearing mysteriously, probably due to the act of some neighbours or passer-bys who helped themselves.

You can plant bulbs in a pot, label them, & it makes it easier to identify where they'll come up. Nice to decorate balconies, entrances, etc.

  • I'd be very interested ion the Freesias, but I note it says 'slight perfume. If they were normal high perfume I'd definitely put a lot in.
