90

These are the PRO Eneloops - seems you can do click & collect and save yourself the $7.95 postage which is a bit ordinary.

  • Missed out on these last time they were this price, so snapped some click and collect up quick.

  • Normal eneloops are also on sale, although not quite as good as the usual sub $20 for 8. The AAAs are also on sale (both normal and pro) for the same price as AA.

    • Yeah I saw those, but they're NOT a deal.
$11.98 for a 4 pack when you can get an 8pk tropical/chocolat for $14.98 when they pop up - is not a deal IMHO.

      • Yeah, I know it's not good value compared to other deals, but for us we've run out of AAAs, and I'd rather have at least some available for when we need them, hence I ordered a couple of packs.

Plus often the $14.98 deals are online only, meaning you have to pay $5+ in shipping, so if you're only ordering 8 then it's not too much different.

      • "… but they're NOT a deal."

I just successfully ordered 3 packs of four AAA 'XX' eneloops, which are listed at $14.40 each, for Click'n'Collect.

Isn't this about as cheap as it ever gets for these 'xx' AAAs?

And what are the odds that they will be 'made in Japan'? Pretty good I reckon; aren't all the high-capacity ones still made in Japan?

Curiously, despite being listed at $14.40 each, when I ordered 3 packs it reported/charged me a total of $40.89; so $13.63 per pack. Anyone know why that might be?

        Anyways, happy days…

        • The "not a deal" were the bog standard AAA and AA - hence I mentioned the price of 11.98 which really are 11.76 (typo on my part)

The AAA "XX" you bought ARE listed $13.63

The Eneloop PRO for AAA and AA are listed as $14.40

The Eneloop PROs despite being Panasonic are still made in Japan. I bought some a few weeks ago for my speedlite flash.

        • @digitalterrorist:
Ah yeppers I see now. Thanks for clearing that up! So what's the main difference between the "XX" ones and the "pro" ones?

There's not much said about the pro ones except that they "Display superior power characteristics"… which is a bit vague. It does state that they're made in Japan, but no such claim is made re the XX ones; so I'm guessing they're not.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles:
UPDATE: I picked up my "XX" AAAs today, and joy of joys, they're made in Japan :)

Soooo, can any of the (seemingly zillions) of eneloop experts out there tell me what the difference is between the AAA eneloop "XX" batteries, and the AAA eneloop "Pro" batteries? Both are 950 mAh, both state that they can be recharged up to 500 times, both say they retain up to 85% of capacity after 1 year, and both are (currently) made in Japan.

Along the bottom on the back of the XX pack, it even has printed "High capacity eneloop for professional use"… so, is there any actual difference?

  • Are these ok to recharge with any charger? I have a duracell charger which I am going to use with these. Or is the eneloop charger preferred for eneloop batteries (since that is also on sale)?

    • You can use any charger capable of charging NiMH rechargeable batteries, although it's better to use a good quality charger with independent cell charging capabilities.

  • This is weird. Says it is chargeable up to 500 times. Is that true of normal eneloops? I never noticed that before.

    • +1

That's only for these higher capacity Eneloop Pros, normal Eneloops are rated for up to 2100 recharges depending on which generation they are. The extra power the pros are capable of holding obviously comes at the expense of longevity.

  • +3
    • Thanks. Almost had a 'doh' moment of finding the AAA chocolate 8 pack for $16.63, but as expected they're not available for Click & Collect.

  • Thanks OP ordered a 4 pack of the regular Eneloop AA's on C&C
