All stock is shipping out of Sydney, it is Brand new, Unopened, fulfilled from an Authorised Apple supplier. If you have an issue with an Apple product, you can take it to the Apple store, regardless of where you buy it from. We have a surcharge for PayPal and Visa/MasterCard/Amex and there is a freight charge of 15.95 (if you buy more than one it will add about few dollars per unit) There is no charge for EFT payment, if someone does not want to pay the surcharge.

  • Just had a look RE the MF855X/A for you, no stock and no incoming stock yet noted from Apple. Did you want me to find out and email you an ETA? (PM me your email :) )

  • What year is the rMBP MGX72X/A?

    Mid 2014? Thanks.

  • Yes, all these models are 2014 I believe.

  • +1

Below cost seems a stretch, but prob. the best prices we'll see for a long while

  • Better than refurb.

    Can I make do with 128gb? Hmmm…

    • +2

When/if you get close to going over get a MiniDrive microSD converter and stick a 128GB microSD card in. Total extra cost around $80.

      • ^^^ This

  • Is the pro worth it over the air?

    • +2

The screen really is nice to look at but the Air is a perfectly capable performer for most tasks (the usual caveats here - video encoding, enormous photo libraries, etc).

However, the 4Gb RAM in the air isn't exactly future proofed. I'd say the Pros are the better deal here.

      • Cheers! I guess the 4gb of ram is a bit of a drawback. I dont expect to do anything too graphics intensive though. Perhaps some autocad/photoshop maybe?

        • I cannot comment on AutoCAD but I regularly deal with 200mb+ layered Photoshop files and never have an issue on my older model MBA.

        • +1

I sometimes use a 2011 Air for work with Photoshop with no issues. The screen is definitely the biggest negative of the Air, they haven't really updated it. Decide whether portability or a higher-res screen are important to you when making the purchasing decision.

        • @GaelicAU:

As stated, they're more that up for the task when it comes to processing power.

My only concern would be that 4Gb is getting pretty long in the tooth these days.

By getting 8Gb now, you could potentially get another few years out of the Mac if you're someone who hangs on to things for their full lifespan…

        • Yep - thats a fair point.

        • @GaelicAU:

I've had my HP laptop since 2011 and I'm sure the macbook air screen would be better so that shouldn't be a big problem. My laptop has 8gb of ram though but I'd expect the macbook to perform better anyway.

It may not be future proof though hmmm.. Decisions.

    • +2

No IMO. Air = lighter, longer battery life (I think). I have a 2013 model and use it for hi-res photo manipulation in Photoshop and never have to finger tap waiting for it to do it's thing.

IMO Pro = heavy and more expensive with nothing to really show for it. Maybe video editing?!?

      • My HP laptop froze a few times last night and blue screened as well.. I am half waiting it dies do I can buy a new laptop. I might go the macbook route this time because of their portability and battery life.

    • My solution was to get an 11" Air for the road and a 15" Retina Pro for home. Rotate them every couple of years with salary sacrifices selling the old ones.

I still can bring myself to sell the last ever 17" Pro though…

  • any Mac Mini?

  • Megabuy just put out a duplicate thread… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/191577

    Purchased, thanks!

  • Op can you do a better price on the MacBook Air 13 128gb at $957?
Maybe so we can feel that the postage and PayPal fees are counted in the price?

    • we really cant, already losing money on this stunt. this is last stocks, I daresay sometime next week they'll be all gone.

      • What kind of protection is there for using direct deposit to avoid the surcharges? If there were no CC or paypal surcharges i would jump on this deal but the surcharges add another $25 roughly

        • yeah thats what i'm thinking… i.e. $30 surcharge for a $1k macbook air :(
otherwise i'd prob buy right now too

        • @ezza: Hi Ezza, there is no fee with bank deposit, we have reduced the paypal fee down to only 1%, so now it would be like 9.57 ;)

          Warehouse1

        • @Warehouse1:

okay might jump onto it now then.. thanks op appreciate it… btw whats shipping timeframe to Melbourne?

        • @ezza: should be leaving early next week and delivery mid next week.

Im not sure if Sydney has any backlog at the moment because of the bad weather, but probably Tuesday/Wednesday for delivery.

  • ok - we will drop the surcharge to 1% for PayPal and Visa/Mastercard

Note for anyone who has already ordered, we will do you a partial refund for the difference if you paid via CC or PayPal.

As for protection, Australia has some of the best consumer protections in the world. (in my humble opinion)

We prefer PayPal, as it protects us too.

    Happy Friday :)

    • +2

we have now refunded all those who previously ordered, the difference of the surcharge.

They hold your money for 2 weeks & never deliver the goods!

They are also not an Apple Authorized Re seller…

Hmmmm Beckamy, first comment ever, account created today.

I believe This may be a certain competitor of ours sock puppeting because our prices are so much better than the bargain they just made.

We are Partnered with An Apple Authorised Supplier and the stock will ship from an Authorised supplier.

    • I think their reputation here is at least above average, but WHO ARE YOU?

  • Even if that were the case there are still plenty of bad reviews on whirlpool that date back.

    • sure no ones perfect, including us. We certainly don't have hundreds of pages of negative reviews like some people. I dropped the PayPal fee for you as per your request - hope that helps :)

  • Are these definitely Australian stock?

    • +1

yes 100% Australian Channel Stock, same as the stock from someone like JB or Harvey Norman, they come with Australian Adapters and are shipped from Sydney. When you receive your delivery, it will show you that they came from Sydney.

      • Thank you for the prompt reply. How soon would I receive to WA?

        • Wa is generally about 4-5 days after despatch :)

  • +1

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!
They hold your money and then don't deliver.
I will never deal with them ever again.
Don't answer the phone (I wonder if it's even legit)
Take a look at the mirrored sites created around Australia - you will find one in each capital city, but with a different name

Well nothing you have said there is true. but thanks.

I just ordered a mba 13. Very happy that PayPal fee has been dropped to 1%. As afar as I'm concerened this transaction is risk free given there is pay pal protection. Courier fee is reasonable as well, so they haven't marked up there.

  • Hi Rep, can I pick up the laptop from your office as I don't want to pay 20+ deliver fee as your office is just walk distance from mine.

    • Sorry we only deliver.

  • +1

Okay so I'm still umming and agghhrrring around getting the Macbook air 13' then I found these reviews for warehouse 1 from a simple google search (the positive ones seems to be fakes with only 1 post per user it not 2)… sorry store rep but it looks like you have a heap of dissatisfied customers when products are marked in stock, or refunds are organised or even notifications around when stock is actually shipped… might hold out for another good price from someone more reputable:

    • Thanks for the links ezza, for those who are thinking of buying, please read the whirlpool comments first before making the decision.

      • I personally don't want to discredit them, as those prices are good. I suppose it's a matter of will you receive your order or will they muck you around given all those reviews spell bad news. I suppose for those folks who have jumped on board and purchased through PayPa, theirl support can help out if they don't receive items. I'm just not in the mood to take a gamble… Tempting but no I'll wait for another store to score a bargain.

    • Yes, thanks Ezza. I was very tempted to buy, but those are seriously worrying threads that you posted, and on the whirlpool one in the last month or 2. I'm not biting.
If anyone buys and the goods are delivered as promised, could you post to let us know for next time, thanks!

      • I ordered yesterday with paypal. I'll update the thread when my item is shipped /delivered etc.

  • Has the stock ran out?

  • This needs to be marked as expired, prices are no longer valid.

  • Hey OP, would you have one for the 15" MBP 512GB?

  • Just spoke to helpline … according to them order has been dispatched and they are going to send me tracking info…..

    Will keep updating here.

  • Have there been better deals for the 13 inch pro with 256gb? How good a deal is it? I'm thinking of going with the pro now!

  • +2

just got my macbook air delivered via star track. it's shipped from bundaberg computers.

  • +1

Got mine today as well via toll. Thanks OP

  • Hi OP I just ordered a 13 inch Mbp =)

    • still going :)

  • My order has been changed to 'ready for dispatch' hopefully not long now!

    • Received my order today! Actually it might have been yesterday as I wasnt home last night. Pretty happy with the quick postage and delivery. Only thing is that I wasnt sent a dispatch notice, but that made it all the more surprising when I came home to it today!

  • Just some feedback for the comfort of future customers. I ordered Friday 1 May, status changed to "ready for dispatch" on Monday 4 May and received in Perth on Wednesday 6 May. Pretty quick service! Would have liked notification of a tracking number but still a nice surprise when it arrived so quickly.

  • My Macbook arrived last Monday which seemed great.

Unfortunately, upon first power on, the Macbook displayed glitchy vertical lines running up over the Apple logo, and they remained there even after the desktop appeared post bootup.

While the laptop does function, the graphical glitches come and go, sometimes in different locations.

Additionally it will not wake from sleep reliably, and takes forever to shut down.

Seems like a clear cut 'logic board' (Apple's generic name for a motherboard problems) issue.

To Warehouse1's credit, it's obviously a manufacturing defect, and the laptop arrived quickly, well packaged and damage free.

What is the best course of action here? Don't think the Apple Store will replace it for new (I'm in Sydney)…?

    • I dont see why the apple store wouldnt? It is Australian stock and comes with the receipt thing.

      • That's what I thought.

I went in two seperate times and got the same response from two different people.

Just to be clear, they will 'repair' the current macbook, but they won't exchange it for a freshly boxed one off their shelves.

Not sure it matters that much, but when you're paying Apple's prices, you kind of expect their 'premium' experience, which should not include concerns about whether it's got potential future issues.

        • Yeah that is strange especially since it was not working properly straight out of the box.

At least you can be sure that Apple will fix it properly. It is annoying though.

    • +1

      Hi Mate,

Pop us an email with all your details and we can organise a pickup of the laptop and a replacement. It will take a few weeks. ([email protected] - ATT SR - Apple DOA)

What Apple are saying is ridiculous, its a brand new product and they are ultimately responsible for the warranty (down the chain, warehouse1, then distributor, then Apple)

If you call someone up, talk about the ACL (Australian Consumer Law) or even get on the phone to fair trading and lodge a complaint (get them to call apple) - you might get a better response. If you say the right things.

you should definitely get a brand new one.

Im very surprised you would have this experience as normally Apple care a lot about their reputation and would swop it for new.

      • Good work warehouse1

  • Op - given your exceptionally great recent feedback (even though i was skeptical) i'm thinking of buying one from your store.
any updates on another promo? or promo on the new macbook 12 inch?

  • +1

    Hi Ezza,

I don't foresee any promotions in the near future with the new macbooks. If you PM me with the model you wanted from the previous promo, ill see what I can do / if there are any left etc.

    • Thx op I just msg'd you via OzBargain… noticed there are no more macbooks on sale via your website.
