Switch Your CTP to Suncorp or QBE for a $50 EFTPOS Gift Card/Donation To YoungCare [QLD Only]

200

My rego is due soon so did a bit of online research see if any Compulsory Third Party Insurance (CTP) gift card deal is on and… Suncorp has done it again!

Anyone currently with Suncor Compulsory Third Party Insurance could try switch to QBE for their $50 promo, not too sure if you have to be over 30 though.

  • Just got my 2 cards. This is a sweet deal

  • But how much extra is the CTP cost?

    • +1

CTP price are all similar in QLD, not gonna make much different for your switch.

    • +1

      They vary by about $1.

      • That's great. Just checked The NSW government price check site and here my car varies between $505 and $865. Crazy difference.

  • Any incentive to switch to other ctp insurer if you are already with Suncorp? They don't reward you for loyalty so I may as well switch to another one.

  • RACQ gives you discounts on insurance if you have CTP with them, so no incentive to switch

  • Thanks OP :)

  • Damn it, I just renewed on monday, and switched to suncorp too.

  • I have 3 insurance policies including CTP with Suncorp. If I changed CTP to QBE, I would lose far more than the $50 I would gain!
Combine 3 or more paid eligible policies with us and you could qualify for our 15 % Multi-Policy discount on each policy. - Suncorp

  • Best to consider implications for your circumstances before changing (if you have multiple insurance policies)!

Changing the CTP in my case would mean losing 15% discount on car & house insurance.

I saved hundreds last year by taking out 2 new policies with Suncorp online, rather than renewing the same Suncorp policies. Changed insurer for comprehensive car insurance (old car), down from $525 to under $200 with Suncorp after Multiple-Policy, loyalty, limited km discounts.

Warning!!! Most drivers/CTP customers are unaware of a VERY significant benefit with Suncorp's CTP Insurance…..ie Suncorp DOES cover the driver's injury costs in an accident, most other insurers DON'T - they only cover "third party" injury. So, before you take out CTP with ANY company other than Suncorp, check to see if the driver (i.e. you) is covered for injury. A friend recently discovered this difference, the hard way! She had to pay all of her substantial medical, physio/rehab costs herself as she was the driver… passengers and others were covered, but not her, the driver. Other at fault driver didn't have CTP, …… unregistered, unlicensed, dui
PS I have no affiliation/association with Suncorp whatsoever - except my two CTP Insurance policies , of course!

    • Cheers for the info mate. Good to know. Hope your friend is doing okay.

  • do you know of any other ctp inurance in QLD with driver at fault cover and that offers an incentive to switch to them (other than Suncorp)

  • Switched to QBE with this offer about 2 months ago, still received nothing. Called them about four weeks ago and was told they might send it out the next week. But i am still waiting :(

    • Have you got it yet?

      • +1

Nope. Nothing. I haven't made the 2nd call yet. I really hate spending time chasing for these things :(

  • Just done a bit of homework.
in QLD there are only Suncorp, RACQ, Allianz and QBE.
They all have at fault driver protection but I did not see any other incentive to switch apart the Suncorp one (and even that incentive is not mentioned on Suncorp's CTP website though).
Suncorp is the cheapest followed by Allianz ($9 more) and RACQ and QBE ($13 more).
I think I may stick with Suncorp unless someone has found out something more

  • Has anyone received their card? I switched 3 weeks ago and still nothing. Anyone at least get a confirmation email or anything?

    • Thanks OP! Received the card today :)
