4 X By George Salmon Fillet 800 Grams (3.2kg) $50 after Code ($15.60/Kg) @ Woolworths

320
NQ8LUZ

Ive been buying these for the last month when on special and they are quite tasty.

They are advertised as 800 grams but the ones ive bought have been between 850g - 900g.

Usually they are $20 but this week on special for $14.99 each.

Combine with code NQ8LUZ for 4 and ends up close to $15.60 per kg which is the cheapest ive seen for frozen salmon in a while. Original coupon code post

Enjoy

By George I'll look into it.

I think he meant 'Boy George'

    Is this salmon Australian?

I read we might be getting dumped with imported salmon, that contain lice.

    • +3

Norwegian I think. Same as birds eye frozen salmon when I last looked

      • Google Norwegian salmon and lice. That's the stuff that's put me off.
I think sticking with fresh tassie salmon is the way to go, so much less transportation too.

Not sure why your generalising that all Norwegian Salmon is Bad.

Ive gone through 4 or 5 this month and never had a problem with it.

        • I have to admit, reading those articles has put me off buying salmon from that area (when fresh/frozen local salmon is readily available - albeit it in the $20-30/KG range)

The articles are generalising that its affecting a large portion of the 300 million salmon in farms in the region..

        • @systmworks:

          Multiple countries have banned imports
          see http://www.undercurrentnews.com/2015/03/19/china-warns-of-pa…

I miss $13 a kilo salmon from when i lived in tasmania :(

          @thirtysixd:

          interesting article, thanks for posting.
However, my reading of it is that China is limiting Norwegian salmon imports for political reasons, due to them awarding a peace prize to a dissident.

Just FYI, Farmed Tasmanian Salmon isn't all it's cracked up to be either:
          http://www.abc.net.au/7.30/content/2009/s2766962.htm

Not saying Norweigan Salmon is any better at all, just saying that everything has its drawbacks if you start looking at where it comes from and the companies that run it, and sustainability and such. Any farmed Salmon is kinda problematic, what with dye pellets and antibiotic use, etc. Fish in general is, lately. It's good to just be informed in general, I suppose.

      • I did check my cc and it shows $59,it showed $49 until I placed the order then when i checked my cc it was $59,invoice also shows $59.

        • +1

        • @easternculture:

Edit: I found out how to cancel the order, but it wont let me do it,I have no cancel order button. :(

They've been at $15~/kg for a few weeks now, and at the time I ordered (last week) I was able to get the pack individually and not 4 packs at a time. I know because I still have two of these sitting in the freezer from past few weeks. So having to pay $50 worth to get the discount is a step down.

    • +1

Last week they were $20. Its the week before that they were $15.

Your paying $15 for 800 grams. With this deal, your getting an extra pack for $5 extra.

They also weigh more than 800g

    • +3

You can get 2 packets for $25.48 with code KKZHYUK2. You need to add another $5 worth into the basket to get you over the minimum $30 for an online order. Perhaps a couple of half price 8 packs of sorbent toilet rolls or 7 packets of half price Grainwave Share Packs (Chips) for $1.50 each with code 6JQ7GT9F (normally $3.75 each).

  • No stock online.

    • +1

stock availability depends on your postcode

  • Thx easternculture, just bought 4 and paid with the big w e gift card from last week groupon deals.

  • Is the salmon fresh or frozen?

  • Does anyone know if it's wild or farmed? Thanks.

  • Salmons, salmon, they're all processed the same way, it's the price most importantly and if it's a bargain, you sure goona Catch a great fish.

    • -1

Nope, not all salmon is the same. If it's wild it has had minimal (if any) pellet feeding. What they eat certainly affects the taste of the fish. Pellet-fed fish have less flavour, IMO, and can sometimes taste a bit muddy.

      At this price, it's farmed.

  • How salty is this brand? Some are so salty can't eat it plain.
