    Good find OP.

Also, the Apple Wireless Keyboard is $73.40 after the $5 sign up credit (usually $99). Or $74.48 at OW with price match.

These keyboards are quite nice, but the USB ports are slow and aren't powered.

PC users should be aware that they lack the Break, Print Screen and Scroll Lock buttons… this isn't normally a big deal, but when you need to press one of those keys it can be frustrating.

    • +2

      Print Screen is pretty important…

      • +3

        Snipping Tool is better

        • +15

Greenshot is where it's at. Binds itself to the printscreen key.

        • @cjmac:

Now this is good!!! +1 to you.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

@liveyourlife: "Capture Last Region", combined with the "insert to MS Word" action, is a GODsend for doing documentation.

    • +1

so what exactly is nice about this keyboard?

      • +2

Well designed and fantastic looking keyboard.
They are very comfortable to type on, but probably not for everybody (the keys are very laptop-like).

It's a keyboard, not much more to say really.

        • -7

i see. because you said they're nice and then continued to list negative points…

      • Type on one and all will become clear.

        • +10

They have terrible travel and they get flithy quickly. What's not to love?

        • +1

The only thing that will become clear is that I will miss my mech keyboard :p

      • +11

        Pros:

        Aesthetically pleasing…
        Thin and light
        Chiclet style keys
        Made By Apple (R)

        Cons

        Made By Apple
        No interesting features
        Not mechanical
        Short key travel
        Doesn't have a backlight
No dedicated media keys or rebindable buttons
        No wrist rest

The only reason one would buy this is if they have an Apple machine and want a keyboard to complete the 'look and feel' but if ergonomics and features are more important (like they should be!) then there's not much this KB will do for you.

how is 'made by apple' a con? Last time i checked their quality was pretty great

        • +1

@tohara: Some people dislike Apple, hence being both pro and con?

        • +1

          @AznMitch:

Oh right, i didn't see it in the pro section

        • The short key travel is good - much faster typing and it feels nice to type

      • So Quiet sthat no one can hear you typing search strings in youporn ;)

How can you type when your hands are busy elsewhere.

        • @ms: talent lol

        • One handed typing.

        • @scrimshaw: It's the internet, everyone has to have their both hands occupied while doing that sort of thing because otherwise it's not just possible.

        • @AznMitch: siri or cortana can help out sometimes too. Look no hands

      • -1

        Nothing.

    • The arithmetic operators (/, *, -, +) on the numeric keypad are also placed differently to PC keyboards.

  • must have for an apple computer.
volume controls, brightness, mission control and dashboard

for a Windows machine i have a back lit one

lol. just read above. its a lot more than looks mate. pretty sure you're a windows user.

im amazed. so many posts and nobody knows that this keyboard extends functionality of any apple machine with F1 function keys, which arent F1.
you can control Itunes with this keyboard, dim and brighten the screen and volume control on a mac plus 2 more things you wouldnt get :):)

written on an iMac with said keyboard

    • Allow you to delete from in the other direction too.

CTRL button on both sides (so you can swipe your full screens across) with one hand (not 2 fingers across 2 hands.

      Actual Home/End/PgUp/PgDown buttons

Number pad is critical for me, and best thing is that I do not have to replace batteries!

Function keys go up to F19 (go figure with manual key assignment yourself.

I love the short travel, less energy required to type.

Yes I too own this keyboard.

  • I think this is in conjunction with incoming new keyboard with back light?

  • we have about 100 of this KB in our office, I would say it has more than 5% chance to have some keys fail to work.
Apple will replace for free anyway.

Couldn't afford a Mac, but at least I can now type like using a Mac!

Does everything typed automatically begins with I?

  • Not a mechanical.

  • How do these go on a windows PC?

  • Isn't this the standard keyboard that comes with an iMac? I have one in the cupboard somewhere.

Adopt the OzBargain Way, and soon will will afford it.
My mac has an $4 Microsoft keyboard and mouse set. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175625
    - it is even wireless, unlike your Apple. Thats an expensive badge, considering they are all made in China.

Much better to have Microsoft hardware, and Apple software than the other way around :-)

    • +1

He said he's building a hackintosh, so he will have Apple software.

  • After you add it to cart, it goes up to $64…

  • I recently got the K750R
Such a shame there's no Apple wireless full size KB (I need my numpad), as I love the feel of these KBs.
