I highly recommend a ScotteVest. Lots of pockets, you can carry all your tech without it counting in the 7kg limit. Even spots for wet items, like toothbrushes!
Then you can pack lite for the luggage you need in somewhere nice and tropical.nice gear, but cost of jacket ~$150ish buys a fair bit of baggage. Handy for the very frequent traveler though.
Walking through an airport with a big bulky jacket - in a hot climate.
Look forward to being pulled aside and possibly poked in private.

I booked my Bangkok-Perth return via KL 30 minutes prior to seeing this post. I thought I was going to kick myself.
However checking my flights: using the (BKK-KL in THB, and KL-PER in MYR), came to AUD278, where as the same flights using this discount came to AUD279.
Not really a deal is it AirAsia :/
