  • Any smart TVs?

Why the TV is so expensive? 1.5 years ago I bought my 50" Sony for $650, can play youtube and lost of internet stuff.

    • New TVs have silly prices just because they're new.

    • It's the same price as your TV was 1.5 years ago, but the exchange rate has gone down.

      • But for a 40" non-SMART TV with a 50Hz refesh rate. I am honestly asking myself the same question as leetec

        • Definitely price up as last year my friend paid $450 for a exactly same specs Samsung TV, it's almost double up now.

    • Many people are asking the same question, the huge drop in the Australian dollar has not helped the prices of new TVs. There is some value in the 2014 models but these are hard to get due to low stock.

The Sony 50" TV (700WB) was $699 in Dick Smith on Box Day, then $899 2 weeks ago, now the same TV is $1,099. I spoke to a few different Dick Smith stores and the best they can sell me one is for $1,016 (7.5% off).

Never knew TVs could be an investment. Should have bought a pallet load last Christmas.

  • crazy prices by samsung, but there is no 2014 stock anywhere (*?!)

  • I have no idea why 2015 TV Models are even made in just HD

  • Gosh they were selling 60" Sony LEDs for $999 late last year…

Would've been a pity if not for the fact that I mostly watch TV on my computer monitors :D.
