    Picked up a bunch of these for $2 yesterday. The best before on the package is 15 May, probably why they're being reduced. I'm guessing these will last awhile longer than that date anyway.

      Yes, grabbed a bunch today as well. A couple were 14th May others were in June some time.

      It is already 18 months old and it's vacuum packed so I reckon it will last a lot longer too!

      Brie seems to freeze quite well, later defrosted in the fridge for best results.

      I've done this many times when stocking up on heavily discounted cheese. No problem storing for 3mo+ from what I've seen :)

        i've got heaps of cheese in my freezer. i eat some cheese with eat meal and i pick up any really heavily discounted coles deli cheeses i spot. the texture after defreezing is probably not as good as fresh, but it is not too bad either.

        ditto for milk & yoghurt

        i tried to order some tasmanian heritage brie a short while back with a 30% off cheese coupon but they couldn't supply. woolworths online has been pretty unreliable for me lately.

      you would have had some good ones over there. I doubt this would compare. IMHO parmesan does not improve with age, unlike brie

        It does improve while the whole wheel gets ripened by the manufacturer. I.e. 24 months Parmesan is generally better than 18 months.

        Once it is cut into slices, put into a vacuum pack, then kept at fridge temperatures, it slowly goes down-hill again.

    I noticed a couple of other cheeses next to the Gold parmigiano, both not yet discounted, but best before very soon, so keep your eyes open for an upcoming special:
    30 months aged parmigiani reggiano, best before end of May
    20 months aged grana padano, best before mid June

    Got the last 2 of the 18 months parmigiano for $2 - shelf price was still $8, but scanned as expected. Same early expiry date as reported by others.

    WW @ Caloundra shelf price was $12 ie $60 a kg! Expiry date in June the same as the dozen blocks we picked up for $1.60!!

      The new website is a joke, try contacting the call centre. They put the discount through manually for me this afternoon when I called up.
