looks good but if you have an entertainment book membership you can use it for both

    • That's why i included the section for those who don't have access to other types of similar discounts :)

  • Pretty sure this is limited to petrol only…..I could stand corrected though??

    • Correct

    • well Caltex Woolworths outlets only….u can buy other items in store

Placed on the title for clarity.

    • Had these before and they were usable at all WW group stores.

      • Me too

      • Second this. Nothing particularly different in the T&C comparing with previous egift card deals.

      • Ahh cool. OK.

  • +2

If it is egift card then it should be able to use in other Woolworths, BigW etc.

I have to neg this because CashRewards offer 5% off WISH eGift Cards all the time now (which can be used at Caltex, Woolies, Big W, Masters, BWS, Dan Murphy's). All it requires is free membership.

The only thing slightly better about this one is you can purchase smaller denominations (CashRewards is $50 minimum).

..and maybe if you have any leftover Scoopon credit and you have nothing else to use it on.

        a bit touchy over 1 neg dude…

lol… need to learn from the pros (JV)

        • @illumination: lol dude u need to chill..

          @illumination:

I think the mods need to change the rules where you can only neg a comment with a response.

It's very juvenile to neg someone and not state a rebuttal or a conversing view.

        • @arcticmonkey:
that rule is already set. You can only neg once you post a comment.

        • +1

@DarkNexy: he was referring to other comments…not the deal…:D

          @CrazyMexican: oops my bad :3

        • +2

@arcticmonkey: it certainly would be helpful for some, but i also don't want to scroll through lots of filler comments of people explaining why they downvoted someone's comment

        • @arcticmonkey: This is exactly my view (particularly in this instance). Sometimes the negs are very obvious (such as my last 2 comments - perceived to be over-sensitive). But I'm not sure how my comment has come across as so overly-sensitive that I'm being asked to chill.

A positive is clear ("I agree"). A negative is clear in the sense that it is "I disagree", but it is often particularly helpful to have reasons to outline what exactly you don't agree with or what exactly is wrong.

And my neg has now been removed because of the negs to my subsequent comments :( LOL

    • agreed. As CashRewards has this as an everyday discount.. I wouldn't consider Scoopon as a deal.

    • correction on CashRewards minimum. it says $5-$500

  • I filled up at a Woolies-Caltex a few weeks back (Gladesville, NSW) and tried to use my e-Gift card, but they said they didn't take it. I felt like walking out and not paying but decided it wasn't worth the trouble so I used the credit card instead.

Surely its dodgy of Woolies to sell these knowing that not all stores accept them?

    • Just shows even more reason not to use the Woolworths/Coles branded sites. I always laugh seeing cars lined up for ages all to save their 4c a litre, yet people waste so much extra money on other useless crap.

    • Which Caltex @Gladesville - Top near KFC or bottom of hill city side?
Top of Gladesville is always more expensive than the bottom one.

      • The actual Woolies-Caltex (bottom of hill near Police Station). Never tried the one near KFC as it is a 'plain' Caltex.

    • I read a while back caltex scrapped their contract with Woolies to go it alone, maybe they've failed to remove their Woolies signage.

I do believe on the Woolies website it lists all the Woolies petrol stations.

There is no longer a Woolies caltex Co branded station.

@suti, just to clear up this confusion, some of the service stations that used to be run by woolies are no longer associated with woolies, but still accept wolies petrol dockets and EDR cards. These stations carry a woolies "Save 4cents a litre" signage (Note, it is FOUR cents, not EIGHT cents.) but have a caltex starmart instead of woolies.

There are 3 types of caltex stations at the moment:

1)Independent Caltex stations (Has either "Starmart" or an independent Caltex shop)
      - Does NOT accept woolies dockets or anything associated with woolies.
      - Gift cards NOT accepted.

2)Caltex stations with Woolies "Save up to 8 cents" signage, with a WOOLIES BRANDED convenience store.
      - Accepts woolies dockets and EDR cards.
      - Save 4 cents with dockets, plus 4 cents by spending in store.
      - Participates in all woolies promos (eg. Save 10 cents a litre if you spend XXX dollars)
      - Gift cards and e-Gift cards accepted.

3)Caltex stations with Woolies "Save 4 cents" signage, with a STARMART BRANDED convenience store.
      - Accepts woolies dockets and EDR cards.
      - Save 4 cents with dockets, but you DO NOT SAVE by spending in store.
      - DOES NOT participate in any woolies promos (eg. Save 10 cents a litre if you spend XXX dollars)
      - Gift cards accepted. (HOWEVER, e-Gift cards NOT accepted)

      • For type 3 use your eGift to buy a Wish card in store at woolies or BigW and use that for petrol. Works fine.

      • @bsmksg - good summary. thanks

    • I believe there's a gotcha.

A Caltex-Woolies will work but a Woolies-Caltex doesn't. Difference being who the store really is franchised too.

  • I have bought these petrol gift cards before from Groupon (this was when cashrewards was still paying cashback) and used them successfully at woolworths supermarket. In fact i just bought some this morning to use my groupon gift card i bought with 15% off. But yeah no reason to buy this if you dont have if you don't have any site credit or getting cashback

  • Can we use 4c discount along with this?

    • +1

      yep
