Sorry if this has been posted before! I did a quick search and didn't find this, but I'm not very familiar with the CC/QFF deals.

    • receive 50,000 bonus Qantas Points if you spend $3,000 on eligible purchases with a Jetstar Platinum MasterCard within 60 days of Card approval

Pretty easy to spend that $3000, just book a return flight to any capital city and Jetstar will try to charge you $3000 in fees. Baggage, choose your own seat, contribute to charity, carbon offset, food, credit card fees etc etc etc

Maybe put the annual fee in the title?

Please note that if you are planning on getting the bonus points as well as doing a balance transfer. When you have an active balance transfer, all purchases made on the card will not have any interest free days (normally 55 days) and full interest will be charged on purchases from the day they are made.

This has become quite popular with banks of late and can catch people out.

OP: Please post the annual fee in the title and make a note in the description that Macquarie Bank is the credit provider.

  • so can I buy a fully refundable flight for $3k get the points, cancel the flight after getting the points and at the end of the statement period get refunded and then cancel the card?

I'm assuming this is what was done on the ANZ and CBA one's previous as well?

  • Only the platinum gets 50k pts from what I can see. the T&C are even wrong mentioning the same card twice!

  • Got a similar deal recently with bankwest platinum card. Any idea if I can still take advantage of the 50k points with this one too on the same frequent flyers account?

  • "A non-refundable Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards annual fee of $30"
so it is a fee for choosing QFF reward program, not QFF membership fee, am I right?

  • How much is 50k QFF rewards worth compared to $149 annual fee

    • I believe people sell them for around 1c per point, so 50k points would be worth around $500.

  • "You must earn a minimum taxable income of $30,000 per annum." for both cards. See https://goo.gl/NMLt72
