      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rock-Uni-Ultrathin-S-View-Leather…

local seller and can chose to add tempered glass screen as part of a bundle (recommended with this phone!!)….Bought it for mum, and fits well and she likes it. Only wished that the front plastic window was made of tempered glass as it can get fingerprints

phones sensor interacts well the flip case

    • No need to buy a case as it comes with a smart cover included

  • correct me if i'm wrong, but this phone only has 3G capability

      It has 4G/LTE

      • up vote for you fellas for verifying.
if no better price by tomorrow morning, im gonna take the plunge.

the fact that they're throwing in a free powerbank tells me there's plenty of margin.

  • I bought this phone a few months ago, one of the best phone I ever used.

    • This is the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, it have always been cheaper than the 3GB RAM one. Think the performance is a lot better with the 3GB RAM.

      • 2Gb will get used, 3 gives some headroom and enables more apps to stay open in the background.

    • This is the 2GB RAM 16GB version. I remember this model went as low as $400 before.

  • How are the speakers on this phone, I need something to replace my dead Z3/old iPhone 5

How is this better than an lg g3 or galaxy s5, which would cost less?

    I always loved the huawei…

    • Mate of mine has this phone, and I've been looking to buy the LG G3 so I can tell you the main differences are the screen (4k res in the LG, 1080 in the ascend), battery life and management (4100mAh in the ascend vs 3000ish in the G3, and the Huawei has some really impressive management features that can keep it going for days), and then it's just down to the physical - the ascend is larger and heavier but a bit thinner.

They both seem like great options, I'm leaning towards the G3 as it's a bit smaller overall and also cheaper at ~$400 delivered.

        G3 is 1440p, not 4k

        • My apologies, phone autocorrected me from 2K, but even that was wrong :) What I didn't type up was that to me, the 1080p res on a screen that big felt a bit off…I know ppi isn't everything, but 368ppi vs 538ppi is definitely noticeable.

G3 is the sweet spot for me (including the price point, I was one of the 90 who bought one from ebay yesterday).
For 25% more coin, you get a bigger device. Too big?

        Mate 157 x 81 x 7.9mm
        G3 146 x 74.6 x 8.9mm

Personally, i need a big screen and 1 handed operation, the Mate isn't that for me. As I've been happy with the G2 overall, the G3 seems a good step.

Big screen size and one of the best fingerprint sensors in the market. Screen res and camera are behind the competition.

Was gonna get this but then the note 4's were on sale for $50 more

      • 100% agree…fingerprint is a great feature…everything else was just meh….it was good u chose the note 4!

      • +1

Do you have the link of note 4 pal?

      • Where did you see the note 4 for $50 more?

        • During the great note sale.

I actually didn't get a note 4, i went for the note edge for ~$660

  • Its not actually a dual sim. It has 2 sim slots but both sims don't work simultaneously.

  • Does this phone get good custom ROM support?

    • +1

Only one 4.4.2 rom on xda.

So no. Phone just isn't popular enough.

  • U can neg price with Harvey.
Friends got thi few months back around 550.

    • That is few months ago. The deal is now.
Let's neg it if HM still selling it for $550 with the XiaoMi powerbank.

    • HN used to sell it for $675 but have since increase the price to $788 recently, not sure why because usually price drop after sometime.

I used to own the original Mate with 6.1" screen, found the display to be very good even at 720p, and battery last for 2 days for normal use. However, performance is lacking mainly due to 1GB RAM, so it does hang from time to time. Also, the size is a bit too big for the original Mate as while I can put it in my jean's pocket, it is uncomfortable while driving. Mate 7 seem to be a lot smaller than the original mate and maybe more comfortable.

I don't know you can negotiate for price at HN, I usually just went in to browse for new products launch and always pays tag price if I indeed buy from them.

  • DWI raised their price to 620, so 558 after 10% off

Had a live chat with Eglobal, here's the LTE band of that phone
     LTE FDD Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28(Aphase)
