uFlix is a service that allows you to expand your Netflix content library using technology known as smartDNS. Using our coupon code within the next 48 hours (Exp 28/05/2015 @ 12:00AM), you will be able to access Netflix USA, Canada, Germany, UK and Australia + hulu plus and BBC iPlayer for just $15 for the next 12 months.

We add new regions periodically with more on the way.

  • This deal is valid for the next 48 hours. All active uFlix members will have future features automatically apply to their account free of charge.

Please post any support related questions as a support ticket at https://uflix.com.au once you have logged in.

Always on. Will only ever "trick" Netflix, Hulu & BBC into giving you US content, everything else is completely unaffected. I have this on my Xbox and spend like 20% of my TV time gaming and I never switch Uflix off :)

If you want unmetered (personally I have unlimited), then you'll need to log into Uflix and switch it off.

        • @Benjamin7711: Thanks for that info, not 100% sure what im missing with US netflix to be honest but ill get an account :D

        • +1

          @tds:
There's a ridiculously larger amount of content. It's approximately 6x the amount of content.

something like 1200 titles in AU to 9000 titles in US :)

But, you can also access the UK netflix and a couple others!

No worries for the info, gives me something to do at work haha

        • +1

@tds: Have a look at http://www.netflixaroundtheworld.com to see what country has what.

  • +1

Signed up - working within 2 mins - incredibly easy!

    • Welcome to uFlix!

  • Hi rep, if I join your service am I breaching Netflix/bbc terms and conditions? "However, accessing a service such as Netflix outside of a supply zone may be breaking their terms and conditions."
Is this a grey legal area? I don't want to break the law and then be prosecuted like the guys involved with the Dallas buyers club .

    • Hi vixsair,

It could potentially be breaking their terms and conditions. However, it is not illegal. But breaking their terms and conditions may possibly get your account suspended/closed. Having said that, I have not heard of anyone's account being suspended/closed by Netflix and I would highly believe it will not happen.

      Thanks.

      • Cool, thanks for the quick reply!

        • You're welcome :)

Subscribed. Good to see an Australian service.

      Welcome to uFlix!

If only I did not sign up for a year already with Getflix.

This deal is amazing, even at the original $20 it's a bargain for netflix users.

    • +1

Thanks very much! It will be getting better as we add more regions and channels :)

  • What if my Netflix subscription has expired but i still have lets say 2months under uflix. What should I do then?

    • +9

      Renew Netflix.

      Thanks.

  • This allows me to stream US Netflix from a tablet through chromecast in the same way as Getflix does right, assuming I have all the DNS stuff set up properly?

    Thanks

    • Hello,

Yes, it should stream. However, you will need to add static routes to your router, and some routers can't do this.

      Thanks.

      • I've got it working with Getflix on the 14 day trial.
So was just wanting to know if I have it all working with Getflix, it should be fine with Uflix right?
        Cheers

        • Hi ajdj10,

Assuming your device is supported, yes. Try it out :)

          Thanks.

  • I tried it last night (signed up for free trial a day or two ago), but from Perth the nearest DNS is Melbourne, and when I pointed my Apple TV settings to that one, it just didn't work - just got endlessly spinning "Accessing Netflix".

Changed to Sydney address and then it connected ok and I could see the US listings etc.

(Haven't had chance to watch yet, to see if quality is good enough.)

    • Hi GordonR,

We applied a new script yesterday to our DNS servers. Each went down for 30 seconds. It is possible you were unfortunate enough to get caught in that window since you were only using 1 DNS server. Please try again.

      Thanks.

  • Do I enter my Netflix username & password into uFlix web console? I don't have a static IP so, I'm pondering how this will work…

    :-)

    • Hi simiot,

No, you will need to create a uFlix account and use those login credentials on uFlix.

      Thanks.

      • I just went in to uFlix & created a new account… But, I need to use my Netlix credentials to create an account?

        • +3

You don't need to put your Netflix details on uflix at all no.

        • @happychild100: So, my Netflix details are grabbed through the DNS? But, they don't know my details… Anyone can pt the same DNS in their settings & run the same service?

        • +1

          @simiot:

You log into the Netflix website/app with your Netflix username and password just like you normally would. Nothing changes there. Your Netflix account operates exactly as before. The only difference you'll see is that it will show you the US Netflix website/catalog if that is what you have chosen in your uFlix preferences.

Your uFlix account is completely separate and has nothing to do with your Netflix account. Your traffic is routed through uFlix by changing your DNS settings.

        • +1

@simiot: uFlix recognises who you are by your IP address so if someone not on uFlix tries to use their DNS then it just won't work.

My understanding (not 100% here) is that my Apple TV stores my Netflix id/password and presumably sends it to Netflix to initiate a connection when I turn it on. All uFlix is doing is forwarding that same stuff to Netflix, but making it appear as though it's coming from inside the US.

$15 for 12 months seriously?.. crazy price!

I've been using uflix for a while and they are great. Never had any issues and it is very easy to use.

    • Hi lazybones1987,

Really happy to hear you are happy with our service :) We will be adding more regions soon, so stay tuned!

      Thanks.

  • hey rep!

Maybe a silly question, but what is the difference between your service, and extensions such as Hola?

      Hi Ryanh7,

Our service is not a VPN, so your downloads will be faster. We also don't use you as an exit node.

      Thanks.

  • Do you know what your VPN add-on will cost when it becomes available?

    • Hi BongoBong,

We are not sure on the pricing yet. Our VPN service will be a high-end service that is heavily focused on speed and security. I can estimate it will be between $15 - $20 per month, but don't hold me to that. However, we will be providing a small VPN solution so our service will work on 3G/4G and also bypass any DNS highjacking apps do.

      Thanks.

  • Remember services like these will most likely render any quota free deals with your ISP null. IE, watch your bandwidth.

Correct me if im wrong, but isnt this the case?

Also, does anyone know if you can set this up to work on a PS3?

    • For PS3;

"Simply download the Netflix application on your PS3™ by going to the TV/Video Services column on the XMB and then sign-in to your Netflix account."

And you're write, if you have Uflix enabled it will count towards your data. But if you want to watch AU channels and you're subscribed to Uflix, just log into uflix and turn off the DNS. There are A LOT of unlimited plans out there, though :)

    • Addition to what Ben said, Optus and iinet both have unmetered Netflix on certain plans. Whereas having uflix on at all will count towards your data (Which could be quite low)

  • Hi uFlix,
Just wondering, will you look at getting NZ channels (TVNZ and TV3) with your SmartDNS in the future? Hopefully you can get an NZ address!
    Thanks! :)

    • +1

      Hi aldog,

We are not sure if we will expand to NZ at this point. We will be adding NZ DNS servers soon though.

      Thanks.

  • I just signed up. I'm trying to set it up for the PS4, however, the instructions on your site doesn't seem to be correct for the PS4. I'm guessing it's for the PS3's. Would you be able to help me out?

I tried setting it up myself and am now getting an error message.

"Couldn't connect to Netflix. Please try again or restart your home network and streaming service. More information, visit netflix.com/nethelp. To exit netflixm press the PS Button on your controller. Code: UI-117". Help please, Rep?

    • Hi lucksmith,

Setting up the DNS on the PS4 is similar to the PS3. You will need to find the Network settings and edit it in there. If you have problems after this is set up, please submit a support ticket.

      Thanks.

      • +1

Going into my PS4 settings, I see the following options

        Under "Network" >
"Connect to the Internet" / "Set Up Internet Connection" / "Test Internet Connection" / "View Connection Status"

Perhaps your instructions are for an older firmware?

The instructions from your website are as follows:

        "Step 1.
Go to “Settings” > “Network Settings”.

        Step 2.
        Now select “Internet Connection Settings”.

        Step 3.
Select “Yes” when a confirmation screen is displayed stating that you will be disconnected from the Internet.

        Step 4.
Select “Custom” and go to “DNS Settings”. Then select “Manual”.

        Step 5.
You will need to add our DNS addresses. Type in the address to the uFlix DNS server closest to your location in the “Primary” field. Type in the address to the second-closest uFlix DNS server in the “Secondary” field. Click here for our DNS server list.

        Step 6.
        Save these settings.

        Step 7.
        Restart your device.

        Step 8.
You can now go to the PSN store and install the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps. If these apps do not appear, please read on. If you are able to install them then you have finished.

        Step 9.
You will need to start a new Playstation user account. Once you have set up this user account you need to log in as that user.

        Step 10.
You will need to set up a new PSN account. When setting up, you will need to select “United States” as your location/region. You will also need a valid US address. If you don’t have friends or family living in the USA who are happy to let you use their address, you can try inputting the address of a local business, such as a hotel located in the USA.

        Step 11.
Restart your device and go to step 8."

        • Hi lucksmith,

Go to "Set Up Internet Connection". When you get to the point of setup, make sure you click "Manual" for DNS config. You can input a uFlix DNS server there.

If you require further help with this, please submit a support ticket and we can give you a more detailed response.

          Thanks.

  • Hi rep. You keep stating that new regions are being added soon. I know u can't say dates but can u give an idea? Ie within a month etc

    • Hi Brad002,

We try to add a new region once every 4 - 6 weeks.

      Thanks.

  • Hi Rep,

Just signed up as impressed with the trial thus far.

Only one issue, our Apple TV randomly loses connection to the U.S. Netflix, whereas the iPad never loses connection. I've played around with it and sometimes have to do a full reboot to get it working again. Any idea on why this is happening?

    Cheers!

    • Hi beefabear77,

That should not be happening. It would be a problem at the device level. Perhaps try a full reset?

      Thanks.

  • Rep please help a old fart like me with setting this thing up on iPad Air don't understand this setting changing internet settings please help me set up or I'm stuffed thanks

    • Hi save a penny,

We do not currently support Air. Please submit a support ticket on the site and we will see what we can do for you. With any luck, we should be able to get you up and running.

      Thanks.

    • Hi,
I use it on my iPad Air all the time and it has always worked without issues.
      1. Go to Settings
      2. Turn on your Wifi
      3. Once you are connected to your wifi network, click on the i symbol next to the name
      4. Tap on 'DNS'
      5. Enter the uflix addresses
      6. Press back and restart your iPad

  • Hi, just need to ask I don't have Netflix, but most probably I would be having Netflix soon. If I buy this today, can I use it when I use the Netflix for the first time or the duration starts when I purchased the product. Please advise. Thanks

    • Hi shibu-thomas,

The uFlix service starts from the time of purchase. If you decide to purchase uFlix later on, it will be $2/m or $20/y. The $15 for 12 months offer is only available for the next 48 hours.

      Thanks.

  • Hi, does this work with FetchTV box via optus?
    Cheers

    • +1

      Hi ZAPMAN,

Our customers who have Fetch have been using our service without an issue. Please feel free to test it out before you buy.

      Thanks.

      • please excuse my super lameness, but am I correcting in assuming I just follow the instructions for windows on my laptop found in the setup menu?

        • +1

          Hi ZAPMAN,

No, you will need to set up the DNS on your router, or if possible, on your Fetch TV box. You will then need to login to uFlix with your computer to auth the IP. Once done, it should work :)

          Thanks.

        • Actually even for a lame-o it was easy to do, only took a minute, very happy will be signing up now. Thanks!

        • @ZAPMAN:

Great :) Welcome to uFlix :D

  • What's the difference between your deal and this VPN Unlimited 3 year deal for US$19? http://www.androidauthority.com/deal-last-chance-to-get-vpn-…

I'm trialling the Android app and can access US Netflix no problems with my AU Netflix account. I'm to Tempted to pull trigger on this VPN unlimited deal.

    • Hi buzzliteyear,

uFlix is not a VPN. All streaming is done directly from Netflix, hulu and BBC directly to your computer. This means the speed at which the stream is downloaded is faster, meaning better quality.

      Thanks.

      • OK so what's the difference between a VPN and a SmartDNS setup? If it's too long to explain do you have a good link to explain the key differences?

        • Hi buzzliteyear,

A VPN will send ALL traffic through the VPN service servers. This means that your security (if they are a good VPN service) will be high. This is a great way of staying safe on the internet and securing your connection. This is a safety based service. Although you may have exit nodes to choose from (VPN servers), and you are able to access different Netflix regions, all the traffic will go through the VPN and the speed will be slower.

smartDNS will connect you directly to the stream source. This means the fastest possible connection between your computer and the server that is streaming is made. This is a great thing if you want to watch movies at the highest possible quality your internet speed will allow. However, doing this does not go through a VPN, so the service does not add further security.

          Thanks.

        • @uFlix: Awesome, thanks for the rundown rep much appreciated.

        • @buzzliteyear:

          No problem at all :)

  • What's the difference between using uFlix or similar service compared to the free DNS you can google?

  • Does anybody have uFlix running with the Optus Fetch TV box? i.e. is this device supported?

    • Hi tpopi,

Many of our customers have uFlix working on their Fetch TV box. Please feel free to try out our service on it before buying :)

      Thanks.

      • Thanks - will do!

  • Sorry about confusion, but do I need to renew my hulu subscription once the trial period ends in order to continue using hulu plus?

    • Hi omgonoes,

Yes, you will need an active hulu subscription in order to be able to watch hulu.

      Thanks.

  • Hi rep again i will try on the desktop computer I don't understand changing the internet settings what happens if I decide we don't like it what happens to the settings will they work or so I have to write down the original settings do I to get the internet working as normal confused old man help appreciated

    • Hi save a penny,

Please submit a support ticket at https://uflix.com.au/u/support-tickets so we can help you further.

      Thanks.

    • +1

      Ok hopefully this is helpful.
Normally, you're using default DNS settings ("Obtain DNS settings automatically"). Therefore if you change your DNS settings so uflix works, if you decide you don't like it and you want to change it back, all you have to do is go back into the internet settings and change it back to "Obtain DNS settings automatically".

Let me know if you need more help.

  • Hey rep, fantastic job on replying to everything!
This looks like a really fantastic deal and for once I'm actually considering paying for something on the internet! gasp

Quick couple of questions, first, you mention things like HBO Now, hulu plus and BBC iPlayer as being accessible, but I still have to pay for their individual services right?
and second, do I have to muck around with my router or will this do anything funky?

    Thanks!

    • +1

      Hi rdx,

HBO Now (even though it works with us) is not officially added as a channel. The reason for this is because unlike Netflix and BBC, HBO went out of their way to find Australian users and ban their accounts. You need a US Apple account in order to access it. So, it will work with uFlix, but we are not saying we officially support it at this point in time - but it will work with our service. HBO is also a paid service, so you will need to pay for it.

hulu plus you will need to pay for, as it is a paid service.
BBC iPlayer is free. All content on it is free. It will automatically work when you use the uFlix DNS servers.

You may need to add our DNS in your router. Alternatively, you can set it up on your devices. You can find out how to do that at https://uflix.com.au/setup

      • hope this helps!

      Thanks.

      • Alright thanks OP.
        Purchased.

Looking forward to any new content you can bring to the table :D

        • Welcome to uFlix :)

  • Hi Rep, how does the BBC iPlayer work? mine is not working.

    • Hi jsavory,

You will need to set our DNS in your device or router. It will then work automatically. If you still have problems with it, please submit a support ticket so we can investigate your issue further.

      Thanks.

      • +1

All fixed thank you, I just needed to register and sign in to BBC iPlayer which seems obvious to me now but I hope this might help others.

  • Hi, I've configured the DNS on my Apple Tv. I get the following message on the website.
"IP Address: Your IP (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) is in good condition.
DNS Settings: FAILED: Click here to set up your DNS."
Does that mean my ATV won't show the US content. or this error relates to the router which I haven't configured.

    • Hi Akashsethi10,

Please submit a support ticket so we can investigate further.

      Thanks.

      • Okay. Thanks.

    • The website will say it's not set up if it's not set up on that pc or router.

I have it in my ps4 only and website says it's not set up. And has for months.

      Cheers

      • Okay. Can I look up for some US content to verify if It is working?

        • Better of Ted in the US

          Hannibal in Canada.

Then watch them both all the way through.

        • @Miso: thanks. Kept getting an error saying this video cannot be watched instantly. Turned out the DNS setting on my ATV was failing or uflix probably wasn't able to route to Netflix US. So I had to change the DNS on the router to make it work. What a shame I was hoping for only adding the DNS to ATV would be sufficient.

        • @akashsethi10:

no drams - I would submit a ticket to them. They get back fast and am surprised that they don't have ATV working stand alone. Cheers

        • @akashsethi10:

          Hi akashsethi10,

It should be able to work directly inputted into your Apple TV. If this is not the case, it is possible there was a firmware update on your unit and they are hijacking the DNS (on the app). However, all is working on our Apple TV unit. Please submit a support ticket for more detailed help.

          Thanks.

  • I just signed up for the trial and put the DNS settings in my Router admin page. Very easy to do and tested Netflix on my Wii & iPhone and the new titles came up straight away. I did notice a title I had been watching was missing as it is not available in US, but changing the region from the uFlix page fixed this after restarting the Netflix software.

Also used the code for 1 year for $15. Simplez.

I told the other half if she does the cleaning I would do all the setting of this up as she has been nagging me for weeks to get US Netflix….just have to waste a bit more time now for her to finish off the cleaning :o)

    • +1

I can disable your account temporarily :p

But in all seriousness, welcome to uFlix :)

      Thanks.

  • signed up for free trial, when i click dns server list to get the addresses i need to put in my settings it takes me back to the "write down current address" page.. very frustrating.

    • Hi ianefc1,

Not sure why it is doing that on your browser… here is the list.
