1450
tothefuture

Normally $2/m or $20/y -

Hi everyone,

uFlix is rebranding and adding many more services later on this year. We will be adding more unblocked channels and VPN services, along with a brand new company name. This deal will be the last we run under the uFlix name, so get in quick.

uFlix is a service that allows you to expand your Netflix content library using technology known as smartDNS. Using our coupon code within the next 48 hours (Exp 28/05/2015 @ 12:00AM), you will be able to access Netflix USA, Canada, Germany, UK and Australia + hulu plus and BBC iPlayer for just $15 for the next 12 months.

We add new regions periodically with more on the way.

  • This deal is valid for the next 48 hours. All active uFlix members will have future features automatically apply to their account free of charge.

Please post any support related questions as a support ticket at https://uflix.com.au once you have logged in.

Thanks!

      • Yeah I use chromecast and had to change some settings on the router. Not too difficult but each router is setup a little differently so you have to find the right area to update.

  • This may be a stupid question…

I watch netflix via my XBOX ONE - Is this product always active? Am I always using a different IP? So therefor I can watch it on my Xbox?

Or is it a computer application that you open which then changes your ip? therefor I cant watch it on my xbox?

    thankyou

    • Hi patchyz,

The IP we use to authenticate you is the IP of your home network. So to authorise your IP (it may change from time to time), simply log in to uFlix and it will auto-update. Once done, you will be able to watch different Netflix regions on your Xbox. It is all done through your uFlix control panel online.

      Thanks.

      • Sounds good! does this mean my computer has to be on?

        Sorry im a noob lol

        • Hi patchyz,

No. Once you have authenticated, nothing needs to be on :)

          Thanks.

      • So this should work in the same way with the ps3?

        • Hi Hotkolbas,

Yes, it will work the same on the PS3 :)

          Thanks.

  • HI rep im a current uflix user from your previous deal i was wondering if any other clients of yours have recently had an issue with payment to netflix.

Sorry, we are unable to process your request. Please try again later. I receive this from the netflix website even though my card worked perfectly before.

    • looking at the thread on whirlpool it seems netflix had an issue over the weekend (jsut happened to be an anniversary of their launch here) but people are reporting it has since been fixed

    • Hi Slide,

We are not aware of any issues with Netflix payment (as we do not control it). However, please submit a ticket so we can take a look at the issue just in case.

But the short answer is no. There have been no payment complaints regarding Netflix.

      Thanks.

If i buy this one now with my current 1 year deal does it add on?

        • +1

          Hi Slide,

Unfortunately not. This is for new members. Once we release our new website we will be offering existing members a special deal that will not be available to new members.

          Thanks.

  • where are the servers located? I currently use getflix and connect to servers in melbourne

    • Hi Japius,

We have our DNS servers in Melbourne and Sydney.

      Thanks.

  • For all cheapskates - you can use Hola.org DNS changer free that does exactly the same job as uflix.

    • +9

Hola will use you as an exit node when you have their service enabled (unless you are a premium customer). This means what someone is using your computers connection to access whatever they are accessing from their computer. Dangerous in my opinion.

      Thanks.

    • Been using hola for a while now after someone posted about it on here, greatest thing ever!

  • How easy is it to turn the service on and off? for example do you need to turn it off when gaming on local servers?

    • Hi Biggles,

No, you do not need to turn it off. However, if you would like to turn it off, simply log in to uFlix and select "Turn Off" in the region selector. This will drop you from our service for as long as you have it turned off.

      Thanks.

  • I signed up at the last time you posted a deal on OzBargain.

At the time, you announced on OzBargain that you were going to support HBO NOW. Whilst HBO NOW kinda worked for a bit, overall I was disappointed with the quality of service from uFlix with respect to HBO NOW and I notice that you still don't mention it on your website. I ended up going with another provider who was able to better support HBO NOW.

    • +1

HBO Now works on our service. The reason we don't advertise it as a channel is because HBO sent out e-mails banning users they found to be in Australia (for all smartDNS providers). Until we can say with certainty that our service will completely hide you from their reach, we will not advertise HBO Now as an unblocked channel - however, accessing HBO Now will still work with our service.

      Thanks.

  • Hi rep, 2 questions:
    1. How is this different from hola unblocker?
    2. Will this work with my Apple TV? I mean, will my Apple TV think it is in America?

    • Hola is a VPN, which means it is slower. It also uses your computer as an exit node when it is enabled, which in my opinion is not safe.

Yes, the service will work with your Apple TV.

      Thanks.

  • -1

Could just use a VPN (Hola) for free to unblock your region lol

    • +3

As long as you are happy for other people to use your computer as a connection, sure. No thanks for me though.

  • How about Amazon Prime?

    • Hi edy4eva,

Amazon Prime will be supported later this year with the release of our new website. At the moment this is not supported and is aimed mainly at Netflix users.

      Thanks.

      • Thanks. Do you have a time frame for that? and will that require extra payment?

        • Hi edy4eva,

There is no time frame at the moment unfortunately, as the way we are setting up our network is extremely complex (it is made for speed and security). No, it will not require extra payment. There will be a slight price increase for our smartDNS service, but all active subscriptions will not need to pay extra whilst their subscription is active.

          Thanks.

  • I frequent between both my parents' houses. Can I use this service at both (two separate IPs), or do I need to sign up twice? Thanks! :)

    • Hi TalisK,

You can use it on either, but not at the same time. So, your parents house or your house will have auth of the account. Even though you can both use it, you can not use it at the same time.

      Thanks.

      • +1

That works fine. Thanks for the quick reply!

        • You're welcome :)

  • does this deal stack? i already have a year subscription i'm on, can i buy this to add another 12 months?

    • Hi rakerr,

Unfortunately not. This is a limited time offer for new subscribers and will be over in 48 hours. However, when we launch our new website (later down the track), all existing customers will get a special deal that will not be offered to non-customers.

      Thanks.

  • +1

I have been a uFlix user since the $12 for 12 months promo a little while back. I have been very happy with the service so far. There has been a couple of little hicks along the way and I had to raise two support tickets. Both were resolved quickly.

I'm using it on multiple devices (iPad, iPhone, Samsung TV with the Netflix app). I have put the uflix details straight onto my router and it works well.

    • Good to hear you are happy with our service :) We will continue to improve and expand as time goes on.

      Thanks.

  • Does this increase bollywood movies by any chance?

    • Hi vijay,

We only unblock Netflix USA, Canada, Germany and UK. We also unblock hulu plus and BBC iPlayer. Whatever content they provide is what you will have access to.

      Thanks.

  • Does it work on other UK TV on demand apps? ITV, C4, C5, etc?
    If so on which platforms?

    • Hi cooperdog,

Not at the moment. When we launch the new website, these will all be unblocked.

      Thanks.

  • +1

Just signed up!! I can't wait to use it tonight

    • Great :) I am sure you will love it :)

      Thanks.

  • Someone asked me about getting Channel 4 from the UK. Will your product work?

    • Hi gummibear,

At the moment no. We will look over it tonight and see what is involved in unblocking it. No promises it will be added tonight though. However, when we launch the new website, it will be available.

      Thanks.

      • Thanks for the quick reply. Can you reply back here once you know either way?

  • I have a 12 month subscription from a previous deal - can I buy another 12 month subscription with this deal, or is it new members only?

    • Read above.

      • got it - cheers

    • Hi flashi007,

This is for new members only. When we launch our new website, active members will have access to a special deal which non-members will not have.

      Thanks.

  • Is anyone else having trouble getting a HD stream from the US/UK services? When i use NetflixAU no Uflik it's perfect, flick the switch via Uflik to another region and get shizen SD picture. Worked perfectly on day one but hasn't since so haven't bothered flicking to any other regions.
Rep…any idea when HBO Go will be available to any other platforms other than Apple? as i live in an Android household.

    • Hi killabob,

The reason for the HD in Australia is because the content is served locally. When using UK, USA etc you are downloading from overseas. This has nothing to do with the uFlix service, as your connection is direct. If only we had fast internet in Australia… nbn

I have no idea when HBO Now will be available on other devices. That is between HBO and Apple. I can't imagine it will be too long though, but I can only assume.

      Thanks.

    • You're pulling down video from further away so picture quality can vary.

I find UK to be pretty ordinary on average whilst Canada always gets up to 1080.

      Edit - beaten by rep

    • I have Uflix and have no worries getting FHD from the US Netflix channels. Unlucky mate :)

  • Hi Rep, where can I find a complete list of your unblocked channels? I can only find Netflix, BBC iPlayer and Hulu Plus!

    • Hi Joe888,

That is all we currently unblock. During beta testing we found that most users were only using Netflix, so we decided to make a very low-cost unblocking solution for those who do not need 100 channels unblocked. However, when we launch our new site we will be unblocking many more channels, and we will keep the price low.

      Thanks.

  • Hi rep,
    two questions
how is this different from Getflix?
will it work on my smart TV?

    • Hi dinkyfish,

It would operate fairly similar to Getflix. I don't know how they have set their unblocker up, so I can not say with certainty. But the principal is the same.

It should work on your smart TV, but please try it out first before making the purchase as we do not give refunds.

      Thanks.

    • main difference is the price. I for one only unblock Netflix so have no need for Getflix's extra unlocked stuff.

  • will this work for eurosportplayer.com ?

    • Hi banzini,

No, it will only work for Netflix, hulu and BBC iPlayer.

      Thanks.

  • Hi Rep. I am a bit lost on the setup page. If I change the settings on the home router does that mean I don't need to change anything on the devices? And the instructions for the devices is only if I want to have netflix enabled per device.

For example, if I dont change my router and change things on the laptop only, does that mean I can access US netflix on my laptop while my tablet accesses AU netflix as per normal?

    Would it work that way?

    • +1

      Hi Lenneth,

That is correct. Setting our DNS servers at router-level will enable all supported devices to use uFlix DNS by default. Setting our DNS at device-level will enable uFlix for that device only.

      Thanks.

  • Sorry guys you have just dont quite have it all together i will stay with getflix for now, more services and the included vpn is faster than my vpn.ac & cyberghost.

    • Hi sonicentropy,

No problem at all :) We are not catering to the same market as Getflix. As our service evolves it will cater to different markets, you may wish to give us a go at that point.

      Thanks.

  • If we sign up now, will we automatically have access to the new site/services as they become available, or will we have to upgrade or something?

    • Hi TailsK,

All active memberships will gain access to the new smartDNS services when the new website launches. That is estimated to be available later this year. You will not have access to our VPN services as they are addon modules, but the smartDNS (Netflix, etc) will still work. You will also get offers that non-members won't have access to.

      Thanks.

  • so how do we set up a smart TV to be able to access US netflix, but be able to switch easily to AU netflix to get unmetered data? (I'm with optus)

    • Hi dinkyfish,

If your TV supports it, please set our DNS in your TV (usually found in Network Settings). If not, please set our DNS in your router.

Once done, you can switch regions in your uFlix control panel, found on our website. To access unmetered data, you will need to turn our service off. You can do this by selecting "Turn Off" in your region selection.

      Thanks.

  • So if I use this on my router, every device connected to it will essentially have a USA/Whatever country IP address?

I'm guessing this means that my ISP wont count unmetered downloads.

    • Hi SnowDragon,

No. Your devices IP will not change. It will only trick Netflix, hulu and BBC into thinking your IP is in <region>. All other websites and services will remain unaffected.

Correct, switching regions will not give you unmetered downloads. To get unmetered downloads, you will need to turn our service off by selecting "Turn Off" in your region selector.

      Thanks.

  • i just signed up, where can i see the DNS address? also when i check the status, USA is marked as offline
    https://uflix.com.au/status/

    • +1

      Hi Owenz,

You can check the DNS addresses at https://uflix.com.au/setup

The USA node being down is incorrect. I will fix that now. We changed USA nodes yesterday and have not updated it.

EDIT: USA status display is now fixed.

      Thanks.

      • thanks for quick reply,

it keep giving me australian map, how can i get your DNS number?

        • Hi owenz,

It is listed in the table below the map.

          Thanks.

        • got it, thanks so much!

        • @owenz:

          You're welcome :)

  • Sounds like fun, Just joined up and paid for a year.

Will go home and see how it goes, as the site is saying can't find my DNS, but I am at work… :)

    • Hi BlackVY,

Once you set your DNS servers to ours it should work :)

      Enjoy!

  • Will I be able to watch Game of Thrones with this?

    • Hi Scandrew,

Although we don't officially support it, yes. As long as you can login to HBO Now (US Apple account), it should work.

      Thanks.

      • Is that a free service or paid ? And I assume it will need US credit card right? Thanks :)

        • +1

HBO Now is a paid service. You will need a US Apple account.

          Thanks.

  • Hi Rep,

There's a post on your Facebook saying your service works with Crunchyroll, but in here you say you only work with Netflix, BBC and some other site at the moment.

Can you confirm you work with Crunchyroll?

    • Hi jai881,

That was before we officially launched our service. We have since removed crunchyroll. However, it will be added at a later date again. But for the time being it is not available.

      Thanks.

      • No worries. thanks!

        • You're welcome :)

  • Been with them since the last deal and had no problems!

    Very happy with the service.

    • Hi gamechanger,

Great to hear :) We will be adding more regions soon, so stay tuned!

      Thanks.

  • On paper this looks a pretty good deal!

I currently access Netflix through a Roku 3 via Unotelly for my DNS magic to take place… I renewed just yesterday for $60 (!) but considering cancelling now to save me $45 & especially since Hulu is included! I also have a Samsung TV & so could sell my Roku too, hmmm!

My only passing thought is the connection/speed of your service? Have you had any problems in this area?

I only watch Netfllix US & generally receive 1080

Also is Pandora a channel you are considering including down the line?

    • Hi Carpe Diem,

We will be adding support for roku this week actually.

Your best bet is to just try our service and see how you like it. It will give you a feel for the speed. If you are happy, you can go ahead and make the purchase :)

      Thanks.

  • Hi Rep,
Just got a question about your services, at the moment i am using UnblockUS for my DNS redirections and have configured my windows hosts file so it will do the switching automatically, i like that only netflix/hulu go through DNS redirection while everything else is untouched (including unmetered internet).

Do you have any preconfigured host files (or ip/host names) or is it something i would need to recreate again?

    • Hi dmaca667,

You will need to recreate it again. If you PM me here I will see what I can send to you.

Unmetered will require turning our service off.

      Thanks.

  • Hi all! :) Does anyone know how this compares with Unotelly? The price is better by the looks, just wondering how content and service compares.

    • Hi ajc99,

Our service is aimed towards people who primarily use Netflix. We do not offer 100 channels, but we are cheaper.

      Thanks.

  • Hi Rep, sorry if you have answered these questions before.

I'm interested in this service, just wondering if our data/ passwords etc is safe if using this service?
and will it slow down general internet access or allow third party's to view content?

    • +2

      Hi tds,

Your password for your account is safe. We do not view or have access to credit cards, paypal, netflix accounts etc. Our system uses gateways for processing payments.

We do not log any of your online activity. We outline this in our Privacy Policy. We are against data-retention and we respect peoples privacy.

      Thanks.

      • So is this designed to just be left set always on or just when i need netflix?
