  • Seems like a great deal to me! Most mums and dads would be spending at least $200 there leading up to Christmas anyway.

    • sorry. this is not to reply. just to let everyone one know that there is heaps stock at hurstville sydney toysrus. i just got mine there. as i have to buy presents for my little brother and sister. this is surely the best wii deal..

  • -1

    Good then.

  • -2

3 wiis for the price of 2 :)

    • you have to buy a balloon or something as the full price Wii is 399.99. And it would be 2 Wii's for the price of one and a half

  • I'm sure one could probably buy something with a good ebay resale price, ebay the other crap, and walk away with a $199 Wii.

  • -1

Wow ! thats a good idea… selling back on ebay. I bought a psp go on 30th . Could not hack it and now regretting on this deal.

    • +1

Oh man, those PSP GO's are useless. Better off with an iPod Touch. eBay it, now! lol

  • +1

damn was about to say 'spend the 200 on giftcards! then use it to buy the wii'
    t&c broke my heart. =[

    • :(

  • +1

Didn't Nintendo drop the RRP for the Wii's by 50USD? We haven't really seen the price cut here yet have we..

  • +1

    :(

  • -3

I have no idea why anyone would buy a Wii this christmas. With PS3's selling for as low as $400 (after $50 cashback), why would you pay the same for a Nintendo. They can shove their games, this dated POS of a console should be selling for $250 max. (no games bundled). Since release Nintendo has been keeping supply low, so as to inflate prices worldwide.

    • +2

Because I already have a PS3. And I want to play Monster Hunter Tri when it comes out in March :(

    • +4

Wii is generally more fun with younger kids and for parties, too hard to play CODMW2 and FIFA10 on it though so that's why 360 is much better :)

      • What happened ? I haven't deleted any comments.

    • -3

xuqi> Keep your opinions to yourself cause no one wants to hear you rambling on like a childish fanboy.

P.S. lol at the fanboys giving me a negative.

    • -4

It's funny how my comment is deleted for just saying keep your opinions to yourself while an even more unnecessary comment is left remaining.

"They can shove their games, this dated piece of shit of a console should be selling for $250 max". That's quoted from above but I guess that's ok.

      • +1

What comment was deleted? And why? There must have been a reason.

edit: Do you mean negged? You come into a deal where people are obviously pro-Wii and are looking to buy one, then you slag us all off like a troll? Really, what were you expecting?

        • -3

There you go again. Deleted again. My original comment was

"xuqi> You can keep your opinions to yourself cause no one wants to hear you rambling on like a childish fanboy."

Exactly what did I say that made you think I was slagging everyone off like a troll? No, I'm pro-Wii too.. I was commenting about xuqi's comment and that quote was from him. Is everyone blind? Read what he says…he says that the Wii is a piece of shi*t console worth no more than $250. Yet, I'm the troll for pointing that out? Wth is wrong with people. If he doesn't like the Wii, then he shouldn't even be commenting on the deal. That was my point. Yet I get negged and comment deleted.

          • +2

@manbearpig: mate your comment has not been deleted…
It has only been hidden due to the nunmber of negative votes.
At the top of this discussion you will see a little checkbox which says "show all hidden comments"
            tick it :)
you can also click the little link underneath your comment that says "votes" to see which users negged your comment

            • -1

@rle02: Thanks for the clarrification. I find it odd that's hidden though for only 1 or 2 negs.

              • @manbearpig: It's not hidden for me. Maybe just your settings.

            • @ahmed: Don't worry ahmed, I thought the mods deleted, not you.

    • Really looking forward to buy one. Have got PS2, PS3, PSP and PSP go. Now, Wii and DSi. :)

  • +2

hey this deal isn't on their website

    • +1

Yep I can't find this deal anywhere online except this image. Where did it come from? Is it every store? Can we have a better online link or more details? Thanks!

      • +1

I JUST GOT IT THROUGH MY EMAIL. THE DEAL IS ON.

  • +1

Just to be cheeky, is there anything preventing you from returning the $200 worth of goods? If you buy some crap with TRU stickers on it, even without a receipt you could get credit?

    • +1

I was thinking the same thing…..but then i checked out the prices on the Wii addons and they are also pretty good…so i'll end up buying another controller and maybe the fit and i'll be over the 200 mark easy. If only i could get to a store that has stock! argh….maybe a price match???

  • +1

    the deal was emailed.

  • +1

this is now advertised on the front of their website :)

  • -3

The catch is you have to spend $200 first in the store to get this deal… and it is only for this weeeknd..

    http://www.toysrus.com.au/

    • +2

lol how is that 'the catch'? You've just describe the whole offer again.

  • So can you buy 2 WIIs only for $400 ? or the half price only works on the second purchase ..

    • +1

It says one per customer so…..

  • +1

Actually .. not bad .. in a way you are getting free purchases worth $99 - $199 , what you spend it is upto you :)

  • +1

yeah…if you buy an extra controller and a game, you are already close to the $200 mark…..anyone know if they have more than 2 in stock?

    • +1

Exactly the most important question is how many of these are going to be available? I wonder if they will last even half a day, let alone four days.

    • +1

Just passed this deal on to a coworker who said they were in the local TRU on Friday and they had NO Wii's in stock..

  • +1

Mmm I'll pop in on the weekend, see if there're any in stock, I suppose…

Pick up a couple of controllers and games, and we're set.

  • +1

Rang my local TRU (TTP) and they had 80 in stock. Looks like they want to sell some machines. Pity they don't do layby.

  • +3

I just got back from Buying this deal, Thanks heaps "AHMED"

    I got
    Wii Fit $109.99
Wii Sports resort (with free accessory pack worth $29.99, and Motion+) $79.99
Wii EA Sports Active accessory pack (just stuff, no game) $29.99
    Wii Console RRP $399.99

    all for $419.
I nearly went for the Wow deal that had all that stuff for $550 cause its what the gf wanted.

Christmas shopping for the girlfriend is complete :D

EDIT: purchased from Aspley in Brisbane, they just got a new delivery of Wiis, but the lady said they didnt get many, dont know if that means there is only 5, or only 50…

    • +1

Nice…what's the free accessory pack with Wii Sports Resort?

      • +1

        Yeah….I'm interested in that too!

        • +1

Its in their catalouge on their site…
Has Jet ski handle bars, 2x foam sword holders, a frisbee mount (sounds dangerous) and a wrist strap.. Just a no brand packet of holders really…

    • Carry on man. ;)

  • -5

Just rang my closest, they have 20.
Not going to say where until I get one though :D

    • on ozbargain, you either share or don't post at all. tempting people is bad form.

  • +1

Great deal, lot's of folks going in to spend that much on toys this Xmas.

  • +2

Just got back from the store.

BE AWARE THEY'VE CHANGED THE TERMS.

While I was in the store they received an email to say consoles couldn't be used to make up the required purchase amount. I argued that my email only excluded Gift Cards and they agreed. They put it through as a 'price guaranty'.

    I got…

    Wii Console (RRP $399.99)
    Energizer Charger Pack (RRP $49.99)
Nintendo DS Lite Pink (On special $167.99)
Bonus DS Tales of Despereaux Game (RRP $39.99)

    Total $417.96

VERY VERY happy with the deal and the staff at TRU Gepps Cross.

  • +1

Bankstown (Sydney) have stock, however there was a line waiting to buy when I was there at 1pm.

Its worth noting that the items that make up your $200 initial purchase can't be exchanged. If you want to exchange a product, even to another of the same value, you must first "pay out" the full price of the Wii.

  • +1

A friend of mine keeps threatening to trade me his for something but might not hold off for that and get one at this price.

Really regret selling mine last year!

  • +1

Please note that we just received an updated email newsletter that now excludes consoles.

Soooo happy I went in early. :)

  • +1

    Thanks for posting this ahmed.

Just got the following(if anyone wants an idea on what to buy for $200.)
    Wii Console (199.99)
    Wii Fit Plus (139.99)
    Wii Remote (69.99)

    Total 409.97

  • Is Wii fit any good for keeping active?

    • +2

I'd say no. It's a good way to get started and might get you motivated to do more physical activity, go walking or go to the gym every now and then. No one's going to go from fat to svelte using just the wii fit tho.

It would probably be good for the elderly or severely overweight, in that it gets their body moving and stretching and may have a positive psychological affect.

      • +2

Actually, the WiiFit board is only rated to 120kg (from memory - it's not much either way), so "severely overweight" people would be breaking their warranty - from a technical POV.

        • +1

It's rated to 150kg, and even then, it's probably a conservative rating.

  • Yeah I mean is it actually fun while being active?

Ipod Touch isn't a console is it?

    • +2

It's fun for a few weeks. Our has been sitting there untouched for 12 months now.

We do use it every now and then as a set of scales.

No the touch shouldn't be classified as a console.

      • +1

What other games are good on the Wii?

        • +1

Super Paper Mario, New Super Mario Bros Wii, The Blob are all great :)

  • Oh, It has a scale aswell?

    • +1

Yes you can weigh yourself and keep records of it. Seems to be quite accurate too.

  • +1

bankstown has none left in stock….. damn

  • +1

Just in case any one is interested, I ended up getting a price match at dick smith (bourke street, melbourne). The guy said the 'catch' was to spend $200 to be eligible to get the deal so I said I would spend the same amount at DSE (of course got him to price match stuff!)

    So I got:

    Console $199
    Wii Play + Remote $69
    Nunchuck $23
    Resort Sports $79
    Extra motion plus $29

Total : $400 without worrying about stock levels. so the only thing i missed out on what the bonus with the resort game which I'm not too fussed about.

But did any of you get warranty with it? he tried pushing it but i said no.

    • Genius.

DSE always try to upsell the warranty, I suspect the sales guys have a little commission thing going on with extended warranties.

I wonder if all the DSE's will match this deal? There is an item I want from DSE that I can't get from TRU. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow. Is it wrong if I keep the new Wii and sell my old one for the same price. :D

    • I always up my warranty for anything over 200 bucks. peace of mind.

  • Chadstone has a lot of Wii stock but not many game choices. I got the Wii Fit plus combo and the EA sports active combo.

Are you able to exchange or return your products used to make up the $200 and not pay the full price for the Wii

    • lol it depends on what the reciept says. But I dont see why not.. That's a good one!

      • Someone above stated the conditions are no returns or exchanges.

  • There full price of this in the USA is $199. We are clearly getting screwed in the country for everything from TV's to even PS3's….The difference in prices is tooo big to deny it!

    • economies of scale

      • We're part of the same Wii scale - we even add to it!

There are some reasons but that's not really involved.

        • People are still willing to pay $399, so they sell it for $399.

I bet it drops to $299 in January…

  • How fun is the game that comes with the Wii?

    • Very.

  • Garden City, Mt Gravatt

    No Stock.

I got there around 9:15 (Open Time) they had no stock left but I managed to raincheck one for $199.99. They said they could only raincheck around 23 first come first serve.

  • TOYs R US deal isnt as good as the JB one here

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/games/nintendo/wii/

    $419 THE LOT

    • I find this deal better, as I don't want any of that other crap.

    • and with the 10% paypal cashback that makes it $377.10

      • that's what i thought but they don't have any stock online….so you can only get it at the shops….

  • Just managed to get one wii, one wii fit plus ($139 + bonus 7-in-1 fitness bundle worth $49), one wiiplay+remote ($89), So it's about $420 in total, saving around $240. I phoned them earlier and found out that either the console or the wii fit plus is sold out in Knox, doncaster, chadstone, and frankston stores. I got mine in northland just now.

  • i got one at the liverpool store they have HEAPS of wii's in stock!

    i purchased
    wii play + remote $79.99
    Wii Resort Sports $79.99
    Nunchuck $29.99
    wii Motion plus $29.99

    Comes to $219 + $200 for the wii great deal! I also had a $50 Westfield voucher so i paid $369 =D

  • Anyone thing there will be any specials on boxing day for Wii Fit Plus or clearence for Wii Fit?

  • DSE price matched and were really cool about it considering I was really pushing my luck.

Got a Harmony One remote for $198.00 (it's currently $279 at JB HiFi) plus Wii console $199.00 and a bargain $5 DVD to make up the $2 shortfall. And I didn't have to buy toys! Yay!

Toys-R-Us in Knox got a "truck load" of Wii's in this afternoon, and people were waiting at the counter as they were bringing them out, but were specifically not offering the cheap Wii's if you bought a DS, but seemed like a PS3 was OK though? Most people were just loading up on Wii Fits, Sports Resort and games. Wii Fit Plus was sold out but Wii Fit was a better deal as it was $30 cheaper and you could simply buy the game separate for $29.00. That way you ended up with the same board, the Wii Fit game and Wii Fit Plus game.

    • I just called the Chadstone DSE and they said this deal was way below cost price and didn't allow it

      • I think I got lucky - it sounded like I was definitely the first to come in and propose they match the offer. Dandenong DSE also rejected this offer over the phone this morning without even bothering to ask the full details. I think he thought I was after a Wii for $199.00 and that's all I was going to buy. :D

I'm 100% convinced that an in person approach works better every time.

  • my local store was pretty good..they did a raincheck for us on the wii console.. but the boss told the checkout chic it was only till tonight (Thursday).

    • Which store was this?

      • Mt Gravatt QLD
