Seems like lots of stock at my local shops 4/5 EB's had stock and at $28 for a Day one editions pretty good. Not as good as my previous Tales of Xillia 1 Day one edition sale at $24 but pretty close.

Also Don't forget if they have a game in stock on the website you can go in store and order it and get it delivered to your address for free (instead of paying $4.50 for shipping)

By the way is there an easier way to add all these as nice links or do I have to edit them all manually. Was wondering if theres a shortcut or something.
Maybe I'll throw together a macro or something.

  • Excellent post! All these games are great at this price although they may be a bit harder to find in store, especially with EB having barely any Vita games nowadays.

    • True that. Don't forget though in most cases JB hifi will price match (even though they don't have a policy of price matching they generally will) Also if the game has plenty of stock (in JB) but not at your local they can transfer stock to your location for free. I don't even bother going to EB most of the time. Just write a list of games I want and go down to JB and and PM. (They usually have way more stock too since there prices are higher most of the time.)
I was able to get TOX2 Still factory sealed as well as Tokyo Ghost hunters still sealed.
And before this sale way back when EB had a decent sale where I ended up price matching and buying like 7 JRPG games d4 Akibas trip vita/ps3/FairyFencerF,Tearstotiara2 ect. from JB as well.

If theres only like one copy left at each store they generally won't as it's too much hassle to call multiple shops and find one for you.

  • Hopefully I can find some stock at my local EB, unfortunately everything I wanted was unavailable online.
(Danganronpa 1 and 2, Tales of Hearts, Tales of Symphonia, Ys Memories of Celeta)

    • +1

Danganronpa 1 and YS NEW will be hard to find., DG2, Tales of Hearts, and TOS should be easy to find NEW.
If you can't find a copy see if JB will move stock inbetween stores and price match for you.

      • Danganronpa 1 is very hard to find. I was so desperate to finding an AUS version I had to pay $55 on ebay

        • +1

          Ouch!
I bought DG1 at…. $29 or $23 from JB hifi had to get them to move stock from a Sydney store I think.
First time I got them to move it the transfer got lost in the system so had to do a second one.. at this point I had waited about 3 weeks. luckily the second one arrived in about a weeks time though.
Then I played the 1st one and it was so amazing I didn't want to wait for a sale on the second one and bought it at $54 and used a 20% off voucher on it. 2nd one is awesome too and now I can't wait for the new Danganronpa spin off.

        • @Scaregdearimasu:
I've watched the first season for DG1… Would it spoil the gameplay/story of it??

        • +1

          @piggiepanda:
          Talking about the anime here?
          Most likely yes.
More than likely the plots are the same.
I'd expect the game to feature more information about the characters and the relationships you build with them.
I've only watched the first episode as I thought it was a poor interpretation of the game.
I don't think you should necessarily skip it though. The art, voices, plot are all wonderful even in english! I'm going to guess though just like movies they probably missed a lot of the story that can be had in the game.
They certainly missed a lot and were jumping to conclusions too quickly in the anime (at least one ep1) for my tastes.

After reading your comment, I was able to buy Danganronpa 1 and 2 new for $23 each at JB Hi-Fi. Thanks!

        • Nice…. Now just don't buy up all the games before I purchase my copies lol. Jk have fun with it. Now that you have DG1+2 we'll see you in a few weeks hah.

    • +1

I haven't seen Danganronpa 1 for a long time and 2 is becoming fairly uncommon.

    • Oh Also if you don't mind waiting and paying $4 more you can get the PS3 Tales Compialation for 31.00 AUD.
It comes with everything the TOS HD collection comes with plus Tales of Graces F.
It'll take a bit to get delivered because it's from the UK but if you've got a pile of games your watintg to play (like I do) then give it some consideration!

I bought ToX 1 full price… Still in it's wrapping paper.

    • I bought my original copy from Playasia that someone listed as a bargain here. it was like 30 aud and then I found the Day one edition at JB hifi and sold my original copy to break even lol.

I've only played but a few minutes of ToX1 but it looks like a beautiful fun RPG.
Allegedly ToX2 isn't as good. Personally I was hoping it'd get an Australian normal physical release since I HATE these metal cases. But Day one at $28 sold me on it.

    • +1

You should really play it :P It's a fun game.

I prefer the second game as it fleshes out the original a lot more although it does reuse all the original game's assets again and only adds a handful of new areas. They should be treated as saga rather than a sequel in my opinion.

  • Incredible price for Tales of Hearts R, especially seeing as it's already out of print.

    • I'm on the fence about it. I want it of course but I heard it wasn't as good as most other Tales games so I'm thinking about holding off till it gets a little cheaper. There seems to be plenty of stock for it left (I think I see a copy at all my EB's).

      • Depends what you mean by "as good as most other Tales games". I personally thought it was better than Tales of Xillia 2, much longer game too.

        • Yeah there a lot of Tales games so "most other tales" isn't too descriptive.
I think the only Tales game I've actually beat/played for more than five minutes was Tales of Symphonia back on the gamecube that thing was an amazing game.

  • Fantastic deal. Sadly I'm out of the country.. If someone is going to EB anyway can I direct deposit to you if you pick me one up?

I'm after danganronpa 1. Preowned is fine. no stock on the west coast anyway.

I've already emailed EB to try get Tales of hearts R on hold. Let's see how that goes lol.

Thanks to the negger. Try to look at this as ozbargaining spirit rather than a PITA.

is this a game for girls

    • +2
    • why everyone downvote my legitimate question…

      • People who down voted you most likely assumed as I did that your just trolling people who like jrpg's and saying jrpgs are for girls only/childish.
To answer your question Japanese role playing games are traditionally marketed to a teen/mature audience of all ages and demographics. I enjoyed disgaea 1 during middle school if that helps you.
I'd say while any gender can enjoy jrpgs some are more catered to the male demographic with fan service and such not that females can't enjoy that too.

        • no i asked because the cover of the game is all pink and looks like it's made for girls

    • No, it's for weeaboos.

  • I also found Catherine on PS3 at EB Games Merrylands for 18 bucks last week.

  • +1

Everyone keep in mind JB Hi-Fi have had Danganronpa 1 & 2 for $29 each for literally months now. It was never posted on Ozbargain originally, so copies are still rotting on store shelves everywhere.

    • That's how I got no 2. For the life of me I can't find no 1 though

      • +1

Best chances of getting no 1 is once you get back to Australia call up a jb hifi and ask them to look up stock locations for it. Then call those places till you find someone with stock. Then you need to call your local one and ask them to put in a request for transfer of it from the place that has it. Then eventually it'll arrive at your place and you can purchase and pick it up.

          Thanks. Will do.

  • I am thinking about returning Tokyo-Twilight-Ghost-Hunter for vita. what are people thoughts on this game? the combat system silly as best

    • +2

Tokyo twlight ghost hunter is bad, sorry for those who think otherwise.. Return it and get something else..

      • thanks, don't know why it got any praise. the game is awful to play. I was hoping it would get better if I kept play it. I am returning it for tales of X or hearts

        • Tokyo twilight had potential in terms of a graphic novel type of game. Too bad the decision you make doesnt affect the game at all.. and the fog of war gameplay is so annoying too..

I love Tales of Hearts.. Tales of hearts was the first tales i finished back on the DS and it was Japanese too (no idea what happens as i dont speak/understand japanese..lol). Ever since then i've started to pick up on the Tales series. Tales of Xilia 1 has a nice story to it. Not the kind of ending i expected it though.. XD

Thanks for the tip regarding the postage, I'll keep it in mind next time, sadly I already made an order yesterday :( (the postage is what made me hesitate at the last "big" sale) but I'll see if I can pre-order the Yoshi Yarn amiibo that way.

  • +1

Awesome. I rarely see much deals for the Vita so this is just what I need. Doubt I'll be able to find Danganronpa anywhere but I'm gonna go hunting for it anyway!

    • +2

I'll make sure to keep posting them if I find anything good then!

      • +2

Thanks! Keep up the good work OP!

  • Dunno If I should throw up another thread due to lack of stock or not but EB games has Project X zone for the 3ds at $28.
If they don't have if you should be able to price match at JB as I did.
Let me know if you think I should through up another bargain listing for it.

    • Question, how would you price match with JB if EB website says out of stock/ sold out?? Will JB still price match??

      • You know I don't know what corporate policy is at JB but I'm such buddy buddy (first name basis) with all the game staff since I'm constantly looking at prices and they know I'm such a bargainer and don't buy anything rrp. So I dunno what they're supposed to do but most the time they either take my word or check the website/ask for a photo when the price seems too low. I haven't had them ever call eb to check stock levels or say its OOS on the website so no deal.

See if you can build a friendly relationship with your local games staff it certainly helps!
        Anyway hope that helps!
