  • Au stock?

    • +1

No. Generic Australian charger will be supplied.

  • +2

    Item location: Taiwan, Taiwan

'normal' ebay listing for same item: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/131518619345

"Warranty: Seller Warranty (return to Sydney for service)"
"12 months local store warranty in Australia*"

"We ship from overseas IF we run out of stock in Sydney"

Pickup available - "Yes, we allow pick ups from our Rhodes warehouse in Sydney"

  • 2% cashback from cashrewards.

  • +1

What's the concern about the stock's origin? I have plenty of reliable chargers, so don't care about another one.

    Any other potential issues?

    • +3

You will not be protected by the Australian Consumer Law. You cannot get a TRS refund if travelling overseas

      • As for TRS - isn't the seller's office in Sydney, so there >might< be a proper australian invoice to claim the tax? Or is it me being naive?

(I checked the ebay listing - I guess I was naive for a while)

        • Well if it's TW stock stored in a Sydney warehouse, you still don't pay GST.

        • +1

          @iChopstick:
my understanding is if it is physically stored in AU for selling, GST is applied.

        • @iChopstick:

          Yet, there's a difference of ~$70.

      • item is at least 10% cheaper than next best, so better than local stock less TRS.

They claim under 'Important Information' section: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law but given item is sourced from overseas (even though can be collected locally), this could become grey area.

        • +2

the problem is warranty. for au stock, we will get 2 years local apple store warranty natively. grey import phone will get 1 year warranty from their office's warranty.

at this stage, I prefer local stock

        • @bzha515:

If the model number is the same Apple store AU may help you. so I'd definitely try the Apple Store first for warranty issues.

      • +4

I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with TRS. It's literally a refund on the GST you've paid. If the phone is 10% cheaper than AU stock, what are people worried about?

        • Because if it's $679 GST inclusive then you get further % off at the airport?

        • +6

Agreed, the way some people talk here, you'd think every OzBargainer is out of the country every other week.

  • +1

any idea of the model number? I'm wondering whether its LTE bands are different than the model sold in Australia.

    • 2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900

      3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

      4G Network
      LTE 700/800/850/900/1800/1900/2100/2600
      TD-LTE 1900/2300/2500/2600

Who is selling new S6 for $679?

    • +2

      Then go get one…

    • +1

Galaxy doesn't connect apple app store where I had spent hundreds dollars.

    • -2

Not at this price, but I too prefer the S6 even if it costs more.

  • +4

There should be a deal for the 64gb model too. 16gb is so restrictive for a premium smartphone.

    • +3

agree, 16g is very limited even for general usage, apple should release 32g as base version.

    • +2

This is probably the reason why it's on sale.

    • +1

correct, 16GB phone and tablets are useless these days

    • +2

They do it so that you say to yourself, "16GB is too small, I'll just get the 64GB version…" - bam, they've just sucked more coin out of you

      • +1

Haha so true. I have the 64gb version and am regretting not getting the 128gb version. First world problems..

  • +1

    NOT for the faint-hearted..
    - No TRS
    - No AU-Apple local warranty (2 years)

I guess its a fair price for the risk's you take..

    • +2

agree, get a apple replaced iphone 6 for same price would be a better choice.

      • Deleted

      • Where?

  • +8

i like my nokia 3310, it was once $679 as well

    • my 8810 beats yours miles :)

  • +6

I'd advise people against getting the 16gb model. Very limited space.

    • +1

16gb is more than enough for many people who do not store that many songs or videos on their phones.

      • +7

16gb is not even enough for basic apps and photos because system consumes fair bit of space out of 16GB as well.

      • +1

Back in iphone 4 times, yes. But not any more for iphone 6. space easily gets full only by the photos/videos..

        • i got 64gb an heck already full just by photos videos.

    • +1

I agree that it's way too small for everyday usage. Until phone companies start offering unlimited data plans, 32Gb is the bare minimum.

  • +1

    so tempted

  • Confused on warranty, can i go to apple at all for 1 year for this? Or just 1 year at the office where i buy this.

    Cheers

    • possibly not from apple.

    • +1

Apple won't want to know you.

      here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/131518619345 then 'warranty tab':

12 months local store warranty in Australia
Items can be returned to Sydney for repair services for your peace of mind
      Warranty covers manufacture defects
Warranty does NOT cover errors caused by improper usage of the product out of its limitations and/or intended purposes
Buyers do not require any warranty documentations when claiming warranty
      Buyers pay for return postage

    • I'd try apple store first but they MAY reject you as it is not a local stock.

    • Don't let them scare you, yes you will be able to get 1 year warranty from Aplle store. Wife brought 5s from Kogan last year and just got camera replaced at Apple store last March at no cost

  • 121 stock left, so be quick if you want

  • any link for the 64GB?

  • 30 left,better be quick

  • 11 left

  • Goes too quick, only 8 left out of 500.

  • SOLD OUT.

  • sold out

  • All gone now.

  • all gone

  • +1

my best post in my whole life.

    • +2

We'll done. Definitely deserved more than 28 positive votes. Unfortunately Ozbargain has iphonophobia.

      • +1

If it deserved more it would get more. I think OzBargain has $679 ophobia if you wish to put it that way.

        • The iPhone 6 has been this price in earlier eBay group deals. Its an expensive phone and probably not considered a deal for the majority of Ozbargain consumers.

  • SOLD OUT ALREADY… WHATTT???

  • lol was fun watching that stock counter going down in less than an hour, beat that iPad deal last month.

  • Sold out

  • Well commited to buy.

    Hasn't paid yet.
Thinking of some explanation to the Mrs. Smash my current phone maybe?

  • Wow, ozbargainers can spend 600ish so easily, it was sold out while I was getting approval from CC supervisor :))

    • Who needs a supervisor when you're the manager.

    • me too

  • +3

Correct that 16GB is too small considering you only get 12.5GB of actual usable storage after stupid 'what we consider 1GB=1000MB' and the huge OS.

I'll never go back to 16GB again.

    • True, minimum 32GB for me.

  • That's a quick $34000

    • it's margins that matter though.

      • +1

They could have prolly moved them at $699; just take a bit longer.

Maybe they needed to get to the casino.

  • I bought one. (a few hours ago).

    Thanks OP.

  • Great price if they arrive in a speedy fashion and there are no issues.

  • Anyone got shipped?

    • Yes, and I have a tracking number.

      DHL.

      • I just received it today. But when I checked the serial number it said that the iPhone hasn't been activated yet. I have contacted the sell but haven't got a reply yet.
Has anyone else had this problem?

        • Im no expert; but I thought YOU had to activate it by putting in a sim card or by plugging it into a computer with itunes.

        • you need to connect it to itunes to activate it? It should have not been activated before, since warranty will be triggered after you activate the phone.

      • @Eeples When did you make a payment? I made my payment on Sunday I think.. Did they update the status of your phone to shipped from ebay?
Mine shows only paid and no feedback received or shipped.

        • It's all sorted out! :) i just had to set it up, thanks!

        • +1

I made my payment on 5/6/2015.

I got an email on 9/6/2015 with tracking number that I can use on DHL to see that it is in Taiwan.

        • @Eeples: So is your iphone still at Taiwan? I just got tracking no. from qd.

        • @reservin:

          Yer.

Hahaha for almost 3 days now…

My estimated delivery time is Tuesday to Friday next week.

Perhaps yours was already in Aus? If so, u are probably entitled to claim gst…..but it might not be that simple.

        • @Eeples: Nope. Mine is coming from Taiwan as well haha. It is at departed facility now and estimated delivery date is 16th according to DHL website. My iphone was picked up by DHL on yesterday 6pm, so process is pretty quick compare to yours..

        • @reservin:

mmmm my DHL dates are screwy.

It now says my phone was picked up 12/6/2015 at 19.52 (it did say 9/6/2015; and I got the email then too…..maybe I misread something).

Anwyays my phone is in sydney now 14/6/2015 at 14.51 (it went via Hong Kong).

The 18th is my estimated delivery date (apparently i live in outlying NSW)….Gosford btw.

        • @Eeples:

          Delivered.

        • @Eeples: I live in Melbourne CBD and still haven't gotten mine :(

        • @someRandomBloke:

I still haven't received it either, expected ETA was 16-19th June, looking at the DHL website the phone has not even been picked up/dispatched from Taiwan…

Just says Shipment information received, been like that for the past week..

        • @d351: So I finally got the phone today :D
However, I checked the DHL website, it still, for some reason, show that the phone is still in Taiwan.
