      cheers
      SE

      • Can anyone comment as to whether this Sandisk SSD is any good for everyday office work and light gaming?

I found a site that benchmarked it: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/330/SanDisk-SDSSDP128… and apparently they rate is as 'below average'. However, as mentioned, my needs arent that great and I'm currently on HDDs anyway so im wondering if 'below average' will still mean great gains for me?

        • +1

yes, coming from a standard HDD, the SSD would have to be beyond awful for you not to see a large improvement.
Just be careful that 128G isn't too small for your needs, it would definitely be the minimum size I would recommend for a a Boot drive, especially if it's the only drive in a system.

"…Just be careful that 128G isn't too small for your needs, it would definitely be the minimum size I would recommend for a a Boot drive…"

Can't say I totally agree with this statement. I've got a 120GB SSD (which I've split into 2 partitions for 2 OS's). Effectively, I'm running Win 7 (main OS) on a 60GB drive and have had over 20GB free for 2 years.
Admittedly, I have 2 other internal drives for data and install most of my applications on the 2nd drive.
The point is, you could easily get by with a 64GB SSD. You just have to use your space wisely. ;)

        • @starionx:
Oh it can be done, no doubt about it, but having to continually manage the space becomes frustrating after a while I found. :-)

Thanks for the promised SD Card sale Rep!

    • +1

      you are welcome!

  • Are these the samsung ssd model with an bug or was that a different one?

  • How are the Kingston sdhc cards compared to SanDisk or Samsung evo.. looks cheap for $8 for 16gb.

  • Rep, can you beat this price for the Samsung Evo 32Gb?

  • Shopping express do your 24 hour deals start at midnight or noon each day?

12pm each day I am not sure if this is noon or midnight?

Any ASUS G751 JT deals planned for the next week or so, or should I pull the trigger now?

  • If anyone in Melbourne can't spend $300 and want to use the previous voucher, please send me a message. I want to buy the $59 Sandisk 128GB SSD SATA SDSSDP-128G-Q25. You can buy for me and you can use your voucher. I can come to pick it up and pay you cash. Thanks guys.

  • Any chance of a good price on 1tb ssd drives preferably the 850. Missed your previous deal :-(

    • -1

If you buy now & top up another $105 to reach $600 by buying something else eg. 128GB microsd & stuffs before 21-6-15, you will receive $80 worth of voucher with no minimum spend.
This is just an example. I'm sure yourself and fellow ozbargainers will have much more creative ways/combos to maximize your savings.

      Cheers
      SE

Hmm spend an extra 105 for things i'm not after for 80 of credit I'm not sure thats a bargain or sensible.
Thanks for the quick reply though

Hi Rep, have promotions on latest generation of Nuc? 54250 is 4th, I'm looking for 5th gen CPU

  • Any chance of an i7 NUC deal?

  • +1

any chance of EOFY deal for 8TB drives & microserver…with free shipping? :-P

    • Or just another deal on the 8TB SMR drives? I got one last time and wouldn't mind another one.

It's helped to declutter my NAS of the multitudes of HDDs. Another 8TB would make it even better.

  • I try to buy samsung 850 evo 500G and sandisk 128g microsd, both should be free shipping. Why it charge me $8+ shipping?

    Thanks

  • Thanks Shoppingexpress, I finally pulled the trigger on the $149 Samsung Evo 850 250GB SSD. Samsung doesn't offer international warranty for SSDs so this is a fair price for local stock with 5 year's manufacturer warranty, in between cheaper Amazon ($143, 30 days Amazon warranty) and Aussie MSY ($158). First time ordering, hopefully Shoppingexpress won't let me down. I boycotted Kogan's cheap $139 from the other day because I've had only terrible experiences with kogan.
Found this deal through the Intel NUC deal on the front OzB page actually.

      you are welcome :)

Received it today and it's perfect!
Excellent shipping: posted next-business day and it arrived the morning after.
Got my powerhouse laptop back onto its feet after a crashed hard drive and now it flies.

        Thanks SE! Definitely recommended.

      • Any chance of a special on the i7 nuc?

        • Finished last week, strongly suggest you subscribe to our newsletter to be informed of the next.

        • @ShoppingExpress:
Missed it dammit. I did sign up for the newsletter. Any chance of more like this before June 30th?

        • @Damonator84:

There should be 1 more time before June 30th.

          Cheers
