  • Thanks for sharing, I already have Spotify Premium though :P In NZ, the mobile provider Spark (formally Telecom) pays for my Spotify Premium as a part of my phone plan :) so it's almost like I get it free ^-^

  • I don't mind Spotify, I personally prefer Pandora as it seems to pick better choice of songs, more suited to my listening genre when I run Pandora radio, where Spotify get it a little off, and I tend to be skipping songs more. But I joined none the less, and was streaming it for 7 hours today at work. Used about 350mb of data for 7 hours of streaming, so on my current 8gb of data allowance I have attached to my mobile phone, I might possibly go over my allowance, only bad thing about this.

  • Has any one figured out if the $14.99 is a Typo or for real?

    • Still talking with their support to investigate. Get the feeling the support is in the US as received the email overnight.

      • @stenix

Just checked again now and is finally coming up at $11.99

        • Hmm. Seems a few people are now seeing $11.99. I'm still seeing $14.99

        • @stenix: Hey stenix thanks for contacting Spotify to clear that up for us. Mine's fixed - it's showing $11.99 everywhere. I just subscribed. Hope yours gets fixed soon as well.

  • Apple Music has a 3 month free trial starting on June 30 with a larger catalogue and cheaper pricepoints.

Spotify clearly knew this imminent release and capitalised on being an early player through offering this deal.

Good to see some more competition in the streaming music category.

  • This trial has convinced me to cancel Rdio @ $2/month and cough up for Spotify

    • Is Rdio really that bad?

      • Just slow because it's browser based. Spotify has better gapless playback, can skip ahead faster, everything seems snappier.

        • Yeah, so is Google Music.

Have you tried the Rdio app on your mobile though?

        • @ChillBro: Yes, and iPad. It has a nice UI but still significantly slower. Also when viewing a playlist, it puts it in a little window so you can only see around 4 songs at once.

  • Make sure you turn on High Quality (Premium only) option in settings
