  • Bought one of these from MSY a while back
Space bar failed after 2 weeks - every few presses does not register.
I did various mods as seen on youtube etc to get it to work correctly, its still dodgy.
Now also have other keys that dont sit correctly.
Also the key labels wear off / go brown fast, not a big issue for me.
Finally - the software driver for this is pretty annoying, I read there was to be a new version that needed less stuff running, but I dont think its happened.

      ever heard of warranty?

    • I am sure you just received a bad batch. Claim warranty as Tuzii suggested.

  • black keys are so much tougher on the fingers :(

  • Does it come in brown at this price?

    • Unfortunately only the cherry black is advertised at that price

  • Just comparing this to the Corsair K70 I am typing on now, this Steelseries has no windows key, whereas mine has a windows key, with a button I can toggle to disable it while gaming.

It's also not backlit and I really need that as I use it in the dark a lot of the time, and mine has an extra USB port, which is useful, I use it for the receiver for my G602 mouse.

I mean, for the price it is a great intro to mechanical keyboards, if I didn't already have one I would go for this deal.

    • It does have a Windows key.
The K70 doesn't have a Cherry MX black option and is also $100 more.

Has the wrong key layout - pass.

      Good point.
      - Double-height Enter key.
      - Back slash key moved down next to forward slash key.
      - Shorter right Shift key.

  • Any one has used Patriot Blaze or any Patriot SSD before? Any comment on compare to Sandisk 128GB or Kingston v300 120g? Thanks guys.
