Free Cup of Yo-Chi's Frozen Yoghurt Inc No Limits on Toppings, June 26 6PM-8PM [Carlton, VIC]

490

On Friday June 26, every customer that checks in to Yo-Chi Carlton on the Yelp app between 6pm - 8pm will receive a free small cup of Yo-Chi's frozen yoghurt.

Hit the reminder link below and OzBargain will set a reminder for you.

How does Free Froyo Friday work?

  1. Check-in to 'Yo-Chi Frozen Yoghurt' on the Yelp app (you must be registered to do so) between 6-8pm on Friday June 26
  2. Show your check-in to Yelp staff to grab a ticket
  3. Fill a cup with your favourite froyo and topping creation
  4. Surrender your ticket at the counter to get your froyo for FREE

Limit of one small cup per check-in, no weight or topping limits. (Bolded important part).

The downside is it will probably be freezing outside. The upside is its free, conveniently located, and on a Friday night. Prices are $2.90 per 100g so while you get a small cup, you can certainly fill it with as much stuff as you want.

Is this an Ozbargain challenge ?

Of course. I have one of these near me and people drop toppings all over. Can't imagine hords of OzBargainers all loading up toppings. This plus Uni students a couple blocks away.

Where should we post the pics?

      Apparently there is a hashtag, #yelplovesyochi. :)

  • Thanks neil. Nice post.

    Jealous of you Melbournians :P

For those of you going.. are you planning strategies for how to best fill your cup for stability? Would putting heavy/solid toppings at the bottom be best and froyo as layers, or even just at the top be an idea? Or is the traditional foyo on the bottom and toppings on the top the best method? (or would they all just slide off as soon as the froyo starts melting? presuming you've tried to pile as much froyo into the cup as well as coat it with as thick a layer of toppings as you possibly could?)

I really would love to do this. Le sigh.

Rookie mistake is putting the toppings on top of yoghurt. Toppings in first, then yoghurt. Or advanced method "layering", topping, yoghurt, topping, yoghurt. Only big toppings that are gravitationally stable (e.g. cylinder cookie thingos) should be put on top.

EDIT: Super advanced: You could try building a fence on the circumference of cup with the cylinder cookies thus increasing the height and thus reducing any toppings falling out.

Frozen Yoghurt 'building' is a craft everyone should master.

  • Do you also get a free Krusty doll?

  • Do the toppings contain Potassium Benzoate?

  • Thanks for sharing Neil!

We ran one of these at the Hawthorn store last month and the most genius thing I saw was someone hollowing out their froyo so they could put toppings through the middle and on top! There was certainly some gravity defiance going on.

For anyone not near Carlton (or wanting to go twice), there will be one at the Balaclava store on July 3: http://www.yelp.com.au/events/melbourne-free-froyo-friday-ii…
