  • wow, $90,000 car.

  • Very aggressive marketing by Hyundai! It's not about selling cars, it's to get people "talking" about the Genesis.

  • OUT OF STOCK

  • Grab the Genesis first, then drive to Tesla test drive Model X. :/

    • Tesla test drive only about 1 hour :(

You get 24 hours here BARGAIN!!! But you can also get that with Lexus/Mercedes if you ask.

Can we just siphon petrol out for a free tank of gas?

    • No because you have to return with full tank.

    • I believe that's called theft.

    • Wouldn't of thought this car had duel fuel types

  • Has anyone read the Privacy Policy?

    …F it, I've signed up.

  • So when returning the car do we have to fill it back to the top?

  • Is it for the v6 or v8 model, or your choice?

    • +1

No V8 for the Australian market.

      • +1

        They know us well

  • Now to go look for a 24 hour race!

  • Ozbargained!

  • Wonder how many people applied? Doubt clicks count as almost 4000, probably 1000.

    • They are probably getting very bullish about the flood of sales which are sure to come in for this car after this 24 hour test drive promo, after months and months of very lacklustre numbers…..

  • +1

I wonder if they stopped this deal because they kept getting "questionable" stains in the back seat.

  • No longer working

  • +1

its a marketing gimmic to get your Mobile number and email address etc

Subaru does the same thing with test drives (register your interest for a test drive and we will call you..) never hear back from them ever!

  • :O I got a missed call from them

    • Let us know how it goes… I haven't got a call yet.

  • Deals back!

  • Has a new disclaimer:

Disclaimer: This exclusive offer is for AFR readers and subscribers. This offer is also extended to Hyundai owners or invitees of Hyundai Motor Company and Australia and Hyundai Dealers. Hyundai Motor Company Australia and Hyundai Dealers reserve the right to refuse a test drive in their discretion including if in their opinion the applicant is not a bona fide test drive enquiry.

  • So has anyone managed to get the car? Still waiting for my call!

  • Just got the call haha!

Only eligible for invitees; went 'viral' on OzBargain and thus they can't honor the deal.

No worries, didn't really want to test drive it anyway.

    • Thanks. Number added to reject list.

    • So they called up to say you're not eligible? Guess they have 1000s of calls to process?

      • Yup, had 3 missed calls from them all within 3 minutes.

        • I've hand a number of missed calls too, they keep calling during my work hours =\
I thought it would be more cost effective and convenient for them to just ignore/delete the details of people who aren't eligible/invited rather than calling and giving false hope!

  • I received an email from AFR because i'm a subscriber, I'd struggle call this subscription privileged/exclusive enough to warrant an 'invite' to test drive their luxury car. Besides the 'invite' link was generic and not tailored specifically to the subscriber either. Pathetic excuse if you ask me.

  • Just got a call from the dealer, apparently it was only for those invited :)) so they said they can't offer it to me. Expected.

  • This is pathetic. There's an open offer on the last page of the AFR today (17/6) offering a 24 hr free test drive.

  • Got a call today, said its only for invited guests, shame.

  • Got a call today. The 24 hr was cancelled. But was offered overnight option for next week.

  • If anyone gets the opportunity to drive the car, could you please take some pictures of the interior and the engine. I am thinking about buying a car in the next year and Hyundai is probably at the top of my list. Dem South Koreans know how to make fancy cars.
They may not be luxurious like the Mercs and BMWs, but they have a lot of neat embedded features and I love the idea of starting a car with my smartphone.

    • But this one costs more than Merc's and BMWs…

      • What??!!!
What the heck is in this car? I was hoping to spend around $50,000. How much does this cost?

        • Book a test drive for the Tesla Model S if you really like using your smart phone and it's integration :)

        • @Allan:

I am quite on the shy side and I have never owned my own car before. I have a full licence, though. What type of questions do they ask you and will they try and hassle me to buy the car after the test drive?
The car is obviously out of my price range. I think the cheapest one is approximately $99,000.

        • @tendollar:

Starting price for the Genesis is 60k, goes up to 90k for your top of the line model.

          Entry BMWs are around 53k.

        • @maybeamacy:

          Oh…thank you.

        • @tendollar: They ask what kind of cars are you looking for? What's your budget? Do you know anything about the car? etc. Spend more time learning about the car.

There's like a huge waiting list for the car on weekends though. No hassle to buy. You order your car online - fixed price no negotiation.

To be honest the car wasn't right for me. Couldn't hear any sounds and didn't feel connected to the road/car. Besides the "rollercoaster" pull I nearly fell asleep at the wheel. It's just so cruisey and I can see they are aiming for autonomous driving :/ It's a nice car no doubt and many owners are happy about it but I prefer some "driving feel"

Demo's are 100K$ New are more like 120K+ and should be increasing due to our exchange rate.

  • Got the call this week, I had first seen the offer in AFR (read it on my lunch break at work) and then saw it on ozbargain.
Should have one dropped off next week. Asked for the Ultimate (the top of the range).
