I can't see anything in the T&Cs saying you can't. The only thing is whether it would be treated as a cash-like transaction.

  • I can't decide if I should get this card or the $349 amex velocity card which will net me 110,000 velocity points since it looks like amex only let you get the bonus on one card.

  • Has anyone purchased a $200 gift card from Priceline and had the bonus points post?

  • Also remember, that you get 10% back from cashrewards if you buy from priceline.com.au, so instead of $200, you'll spend $180 to get the bonus points (shipping is free for orders over $100)

    • Cashrewards General Cashback Guidelines - "Rewards may not be payable if you pay by gift card or if you purchase a gift card"

Does anyone have any experience as to whether rewards are payable on purchase of Priceline gift cards?

    • Didn't try the gift card purchase, however I received my 13,500 points within 48 hours of purchasing $201 of product online. The other thing worth noting is that you get 10 points for each dollar spent at Priceline, so you get 15,500 points after you spend your initial $200.

  • A note that not every Priceline accepts American Express! Utterly stupid. In particular, Priceline Melbourne Central doesn't (and they tend to be more expensive for prescriptions than some other Pricelines). The Priceline in Bourke Street Mall does accept Amex and is cheaper for scripts.

  • For those who have the card already- Do they print your sister card number on the amex so you don't have to carry both cards with you?

    • Nope, unfortunately not - its just a plain looking amex card

  • I went into Priceline in Malvern and asked if they would price match with chemist warehouse and they said no flat out.

  • Priceline Caulfield does not accept amex. Stay away from that one! Bridge Rd Richmond takes amex. I spent about $130 today and need to find some more things to buy.

  • Very keen to get this - domestic flight each year would add a lot of value to me.

Only hesitation is, am I potentially excluding myself from an even better AMEX deal. What do others consider to be the best AMEX deal they've obtained?

    • I realise your comment is very old, but seeing as no one replied, I personally think the best AMEX deal I've obtained was this one.

For me personally, it was even better than advertised:

      • I used a referral link (to get 110k bonus points instead of 100k)
      • I referred 3 people (to get 20k per referral, 120k total)
      • Total: 230k points
  • Has anyone signed up for this card then booked the complimentary flight then cancel the card? Will they honour the booked flight even the card is already cancelled?

  • Can any existing member confirm that if there is Complimentary enrolment in the Membership Rewards Ascent program which usually costs 80 dollars a year for the membership

    • Included, no additional fees.

      • Thanks Holysmoke .. Can you also confirm if I can use the existing wiki link for platinum edge referral page for this card or is ther seperate wiki link for this card..

Also in future can I refer someone to apply for this card as a normal platinum ede or they will be referred for this Priceline card only

  • Note that referral bonuses on the normal Plat Edge has changed: now 10,000 bonus points + 0% balance transfer for 12 months + no fee 1st year: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/american_express_referrals
