Sajju… it really depends what you're looking for in web hosting.

Personally I have minimal traffic, however I require a high up-time percentage - so those who view my website can ACTUALLY view my website (previously I had a free plan with Servers Australia, which seemed to be down most of the time…).

Currrently I'm with Prompt Web Hosting on their Bronze plan.

        https://www.promptwebhosting.com.au/personal-hosting/

My role is a little mixed… I'm a Uni student, however I work as a software developer. I want a showcase my portfolio (on my website… which is a little out of date - free plug www.candlesoft.com.au).

I usually host RESTful web services on my website for University projects… and it turned out that Servers Australia were terrible for reliability (on their free plans).

        $4 a month is nothing…

      • VentraIP has an economy plan with the same storage for $4.95 per month (regular price, no coupon.) I've used them a few times in the past and they've been pretty reliable.

  • Server not found. That looks good.

Maybe you guys could take advantage of your deal?

How many staff are there in your organisation? Are you a one-man reseller?

  • +2

I think you should mention that the price excludes GST.

I'll go through a few points raised.

Ventra IP offer entry-level hosting on single server cpanel systems. We offer high availability, 100% uptime, hosting on a distributed multi-server system.

We are not a reseller, we have 5 staff and have deployed our hosting platform on our own bare-metal servers in multiple data centres.

What do you mean, server not found?

    • On your website,

      " 99.9% Uptime
Our servers are independently monitored to ensure there is no unexpected downtime for your web sites, and in the event of a failure, we are notified within minutes. We have our tech staff on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to fix any issues as soon as they appear. We can provide uptime reports for any of our servers upon request."

      • 99.9% uptime allows up to 8.7 hours downtime per year. Or about 40 mins per month.

I went to join, then found out GST was extra. Your lowest monthly price is $10.99, not $9.99. According to the ACCC, you must include GST in your pricing:

"When you present prices to your customers, you must state the total price of the good or service as a single figure, which is the minimum total cost that is able to be calculated. This should include any tax, duty, fee, levy or other additional charges (e.g. GST or airport tax)"
