Wireless1 eBay Group Deals for Toshiba S40-B00D i5 Laptop at $599, Bonus $50 eBay Voucher

60

I’ve been looking for light, decent notebook(s) for work to take advantage of the tax break increase this year and found the Toshiba Satellite S40-B00D is back on sale at $599.

UPDATE: eBay just open up the $50 Voucher site wide and it’s today only. This is an especially good deal with the $50 eBay Voucher bonus.
eBay Voucher T&Cs are at: http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/humpmonthsitewide

I've seen the model before and it's a good looking device, silver chassis, quite thin and light and pretty decent 4th-Gen Core i5 CPU.

Rest of the specs below, good bargaining fellas!

    Eligible to get $50 ebay voucher when buying this?

    • yes

    • it does't say on that page as it used to say on other deals. so not sure.

      Hi Guys,

      I can confirm that it will be eligible for the $50 eBay Voucher! Happy days :)

  • "4. The offer will commence at 10.00am and end at 23.59 (AEST) on 24 June 2015 (“Offer Period”). "

    To me, that reads as a new promotion, and another opportunity to get another '$50 voucher'?

    But i'm sure that would not be the case… Time to ask ebay.

    (note posting this, then now a followup)

    • Just got off the online chat with ebay.

      This is classed as a 'new' promotion, seperate from the 'old' promotion of hump month sale.

      i.e. if you already bought something yesterday/over the last few weeks, with the 'old promotion', and are already expecting a 1st july $50 voucher, you can now effectively get another one via today's site wide new promotion. :)

      Can I suggest that someone get on online chat and ask again, just to be doubly sure?

  • You can get a 15" HP or ACER with 4th gen core i5 & Windows Professional for less than this at MSY

    • can i get full HD laptop with this price range?

      • Where?
        New?
        Link would help people.
        Cheers

          i am asking….

        • @erwinsie:
          Unless you were super lucky to get in early and got the HP Slatebook 14 for $169.99 ( Android O/S ), I doubt very much you could get Full HD screen new W8 laptop 13" or larger for under $600, lucky to get one new under $800. Some examples below for people near Mt. Gravatt Queensland or extra for delivery.

        The one listed here isn't Full HD

    • Thanks

    • Yes, good to compare to see what suits your needs. This ultrabook would suit people looking for a slim, light stylish quality built computer with decent performance and battery life, as opposed to larger/heavier unit with similar performance.

      Comparison with HP250(J8K62PA) 15.6" other cheaper laptop from MSY:

      Pros:
      * $40 cheaper
      * DVD drive
      * 15.6" screen
      * W7 Pro & 8.1
      * Semi local Warranty

      Cons:
      * 300 gr. heavier
      * Bulkier
      * Entry level plastic chassis

      Toshiba S40-B00D

      Pros:
      * Quality aluminium chassis
      * Intel® 802.11(ac/a/g/n) (433Mbps)
      * $50 ebay voucher
      * High end Harman Kardon speakers
      * Slimish and lightish
      * 2 x USB 3 ( 1 x sleep & Charge )
      * Expandable Ram to 16GB (authorised service required)

      Cons:
      * Smaller 14" screen
      * Delivery waiting time
      * Need to spend extra $40 upfront ( although sort of offset with $50 Ebay voucher )
      * If DOA, need to send in for warranty, unless your near Parramatta N.S.W.
      * Upgrading Ram Could Cost more for service, or Void the Warranty???

      • what do you mean by authorised service required to upgrade ram?

        • Quoting from their own specs sheet. Usually means that it's not a simple small door on bottom with one to to three screws that are/used to be user upgradable without voiding warranty.

          It most likely means that you have to take bottom plate of, or even sometimes take keyboard of the top with a fair few screws and dismantling to do that may or may not void the warranty.

          One of the reasons that the cheap and chearfull Acer ES1-411-C1WD 14" Notebook was such a hit here on OzBargain, because the bottom plate with around 13 screws was really easy to take of to let users upgrade ram and hhd without needing to break security seals or stickers.

  • Can the hdd be swapped out with an SSD?

    • why not?

    • +1

      It IS possible, the bottom case can be opened and the HDD accessed.

  • Guys, if I buy this for Business purposes, can I get the complete $599 exempted from Tax for this FY ?

    • +1

      Sure, if you're a small business owner, but please check with your accountant!

      • Thx but I am salaried employee working for an IT firm.. and I keep working from home.. so is it still applicable?

        • He sells IT equipment.

          Ask your accountant.

  • Doesnt the small business tax break continue to June 2017?
