They are turning their stores into nothing more than collection points. The guys at my local are always saying they can't do some of the pricing that people get using the web site..

All they really need is a fulfilment service that's not as useless and overpriced as auspost and they can ditch the loss making stores and just deliver from a warehouse.
And frankly, if they didn't have these sales the customers would move elsewhere. They need them to force the prices down to a reasonable level and keep the volume turnover going.
Yup, soon the DS shops will be industrial complex rather than shopping places!
My last order for 7 items arrived in 7 deliveries over 7 business days.
4 of them were from the same courier on 4 concurrent days. Surely the shipping would erode their profits and pissoff their customers.
Same. Small items from one order came in separate deliveries over 5 days.
Same as DELL, they send 5 Office licenses which are a small piece of paper in plastic in individual boxes. Also a few tiny screws came like this, one tiny screw per shoe box sized box in so much padding it's crazy! More dollars than sense.It's all about customer service, get it to you the quickest possible way.
I have just ordered the the HP Pavilion 15.6" 15-p235TX W8.1 Notebook Intel Core i7- Silver for $899. Harvey Norman doesn't even have this new model in stock! DS reckons it's a saving of $400.00 HN has the older discontinued model HP Pavilion 15-P233TU Intel core i5 for $996 today (was $1187 yesterday - with 10% back in gift cards!!) I would have preferred to deal with Crappy Norman, but no stock. Does anyone know if this laptop is any good? I only need it for Webinars, watching Uni Videos, Email, Word and Excel.
And I agree, DS totally sucks - they don't have any customer service. Also just wondering what they're like with repairs under Warranty etc.
Dont forget to check their ebay store as well, a lot of items are the same discounted price on there and you can then use the 20% discount code on ebay on top of that
