  • this thing is funny it say wireless, but there is cable to connect power from power point:)
    why cant use battery and give warning to change it when needed?

    • 'Wireless' in terms of network connectivity. For most people, this is what you'd want in a home situation since your typical house has plenty of power points, but you'd be lucky to have any network points.

      • i get it. but if people want to install camera near ceiling then we need to run the power cable down? we cant simply create power point near the ceiling.
        battery solution would be perfect.

        Why would you want a battery solution? Do you really want to go up in your ceiling every x number of days to recharge/replace the battery? The point of these security cameras is to set and forget.

        • didnt think of that, you are correct.
          but still i dont see running cable from ceiling to power point is not pretty. maybe good if you put the camera on the table or somewhere near power point.
          wishing of long lasting battery like smoke detector - which i know is imposible for camera.

          @erwinsie:
          Google "power over wifi".

  • Google Netgear Arlo - for battery powered ones. Pretty pricey.

  • Do these have storage to record anything or do you have to wait for an alert then press record on your PC/App?

  • Most of my D-Link DCS-932L and D-Link DCS-930L cameras stopped working after 1 to 2 years.

    Nevertheless, my 2 D-Link DCS-2132L cameras are still going strong.

  • I am finding that now, I have 8 of this style running around the house and they are starting to drop out at a rate of 1 every 3 months.
    I'm still going to get a couple though.
