*From Wikipedia:

Green Label: An 86 proof (43% ABV) whisky, it is no longer internationally available, but remains in limited production for the Taiwanese market. Elsewhere, as of mid-2014 it can still occasionally be found in retail channels. This variety is a blended malt, meaning it is made just from single-malts with no grain whisky added. Green Label uses predominantly four malts "drawn from the four corners of Scotland"—the intent of the blend is to deliver depth, substance, and intensity. Each of the malts (Talisker, Linkwood, Cragganmore, and Caol Ila) was selected by the blender for balance, with each malt whisky matured for a minimum of 15 years

Cheapest Johnnie Walker Green Label 700mL bottle available for Buy-It-NOW on eBay is currently $130 +$20 postage:

  • where how? i want now?? JW green?!?!?! broden them all!!! delicious!!

    • I assume these will only be available in store with limited quantities per store.

      • Just to confirm re JW Green: "Limit of 2 bottles per customer, Click & Collect only"

        • I just bought some from BWS (no limit) and started drinking at work on my lunch break. Agreed with others that it's not quite the same.

    • Authorised by JV's bros.

  • This is the newly released JW Green that is available for a limited time for their 10th anniversary.

OMG its happening!!! JW green is the only one i actually liked enough not to mix with coke

      EDIT: I mixed with pepsi

    • Great find OP. Just ordered a bottle of JW Green.
Personally I think the new coke life would be a good match ;)

  • Green Label is sold out. Then there is a image of coming soon.

    Is this deal active yet?

A slab of Becks for $34 is damn good.

    • Is it local or imported? The local stuff is crap compared to the imported.

      • +3

Imported. All slabs will most likely have a best before of 07/2015

        • Thanks, might have to go halvies on a slab then as I don't drink that much….

        • Imported, hey? The DM website says this: "Brewed locally for a cleaner, fresher taste, Beck's is best enjoyed with great friends and warm afternoons."

        • @ootnat:

          Country: Germany and/or Australia
          Brewery: Under license in Australia

Or there's the Fully Imported which is out of stock.

Ginger Plague may be correct and the website wrong. Check the packaging.

        • @billy_bob: Halvies? Drink half now and half later?

        • +1

Best Before 08/2015 at Dan Murphys Watergardens. Imported Becks

        • If anyone has any expired or out of date beer I'm more than happy to drink it for them

  • Just got a Green (ACT). Don't really like the taste, just want it for the home bar as a conversation point for guests. Cheers OP.

    • +10

That's an expensive conversation starter. I would use the weather or local sporting team

      • +1

try ozbargain next time, might be a game changer

        • Where can I get a bottle of OzBargain for the bar?

        • @nismo:
As much as you can afford on booze deals posted. Just print out an oZB logo and stick it on. ;)

  • +1

By the time we hit the spirits all of that has been well and truly covered!

    • +2

If I were in ACT, I'd put up with your small chat just to get to your spirits too.

  • So that explains why I could get Green in Taiwan, I thought either they had old stock or those sneaky Taiwanese had made a knock-off.

None in my local store so I did the C&C for one close by.

  • +1

If you want to show you true love of peat… get the laphroaig 15 y/o that they have in the catalogue for $150.
    Wow

  • JW green is good for $69… no stock at local store as per DM's website… bummer…

eBay listing for $120+ is over rated because for a little bit more, the XR21 is much better… very smooth… and great "complexity" (as what it's described)

  • Not entirely sure what all the fuss is about but I ordered one Green Label for shits and giggles - lets see how it is!

    • Nothing too special, only because it's not normally sold in everyday shops, hence creating the demand…

      • I don't think I would buy a bottle for $30, I don't think it's very nice at all. DB is wayyy better imo.

        • If you find it for $30, I will buy them off you for $40. Here's a reason. ;)

  • There is also Samuel Adams Boston Lager – 6 x 355mL Bottles for $10. Is this beer good?

    • +2

Yes! It's a fairly malty heavish lager, craft brew style, Sam Adams is a great brewery

    • +1

More discussion in the relevant thread.

Ah man… 6 JWG in stock, capped at 2 and no delivery. hands in air

  • +1

Bws also seem to have stock but at $75 each. Depending on location this might be better as it could save you fuel from going to all different dans.

  • Thanks OP - I grabbed 1x JW Green and paid it with Woolie gift card which I purchased when Groupon accidentally gave a further 15% discount to Woolie GF purchases. I also used Cash Reward for a further 7% cashback. Will Cash Rewards recognise my purchase if it's paid by Gift Card?

    • Damn! I keep forget to go through the cashrewards portal, 2nd time in 2 weeks. Maybe all that liquor is making me forgetful.

      • +1
      • fk.. me too.
i just got too excited n clicked go go go cos i read low stock.

    • +1

I am not yet convinced that cash rewards will be honoured if paying using a discounted egift card. I have only made recent purchases from Dan's using eGift cards, the amounts are being registered but I won't know if they are honoured until they are confirmed which takes around 90 days.

      T&C's at CashRewards state:-
◦If you use a coupon code that is not listed on this site, rewards may not be payable
◦Rewards are payable on eligible purchases not including freight, delivery, taxes and GST
◦>Rewards may not be payable if you pay by gift card or if you purchase a gift card
◦Rewards will not be payable if the goods or services are cancelled or returned

5% Cash rewards for spirits from Dan's.

  • Plenty stock at epping, vic, People are buying in cases, i bought a case too

    • a case? as in 6?

  • +1

Tried JW green on my last visit to Singapore. While I get it that it's rare but honestly I would buy a double black over JW green if I was after a reasonably priced JW/blended scotch.

    • JW Double black is $ 50 atm at 1st Choice Liquor while JW Green is $ 69. Is JW Green not worth the extra $ 19 for extra snob effect?

      • +2

of course it is, the above poster is prob just upset he didn't get one, it is a different drink with different taste though

      • +1

Interesting to hear a few of those comments! Last time i tried JW DB i was not a fan at all (i enjoy chivas 18, glenlivet, laphroaig, jw black regularly). Have never tried JW green so ill grab one and see but maybe i should give DB another try..

        • Xizor, you list quite a mix there! Chivas 18 is a blended scotch but it's an 18yo, different category there in my opinion. Glenlivet and Laphroaig are single malts but heaps different too. Glenlivet is a speyside and the 12yo (obviously) does not taste as nice as 15yo or 18yo. Laphroaig on the other hand is an Islay malt and thus heavy on smokiness. Even the 10yo Laphroaig is pretty good. And then you have JW black, well that's just JW black :-D
All of the above are just my opinions and obviously subjective. Different people may prefer different scotch and it is not necessary that you have to like something that is highly rated by a certain panel of experts.

        • @Porco Rosso: For sure! And i suppose you sumed me up, i taste and buy what i like irrespective of type. It was quite some time ago i tried DB so i'll give another shot. One thing i cannot stand is Dimple 12yr old… rubbish IMO. :D

        • @Xizor: Agree on Dimple 12yo, the 15yo is okay-ish.
