  • Only seems to work through the Herald-Sun website. Thanks! I'm up to $50 free credit with Bandit this month - crazy!

    • ditto :)

  • Like I said when editing the above post, there was another coupon published in today's Sunday Telegraph (213-bandit). Pretty sure you can use both codes, but you only have until 11:59pm AEDST TOMORROW NIGHT (14th December) to use both codes

    • Thanks JeffreyM - didn't see the expiration notice.

  • +2

You can use both coupons, just tried it out myself - as long as you use the $20 by tomorrow night!

  • Think the 'OzBargain effect' has happened again - the website just crashed, can't log-in.

  • Things are definately broken on that site right now… I can sign up but cannot activate the account. Now trying to make another account and I am displayed with:
An Error has occurred while creating your account.
Please contact Bandit.fm Support to resolve this issue

    And now…

The page you requested is currently down for maintenance
    Please try again later

  • Great! both worked!

  • Both codes worked, but the bandit website isn't.

  • Both codes worked - thanks. The only problem now is that the website is down for maintenance (I only got to purchase one song!). Do you think they will still honour it it the website is not back and up and running by the expiry date?

EDIT: It is now back up and running - sorry guys!

  • Works a treat thanks,

    Perth's Sunday Times ( Perthnow.com.au ) Code = 215-bandit

    • Thanks, just added that into main post

  • ATTN MODS - if we now have four working codes - could we change the title to $40 worth of free vouchers? 213/214/215/216 - bandit.

Don't want to overstep the line but changing the title might clue some people in to the value of this deal before if finishes 11:59pm AEDST TOMORROW NIGHT (14th December). I'll leave that call to a Mod to check out.

Changed title of post to 'News Limited & Bandit.fm Promotion - $50 Worth of FREE Music Vouchers (Until 12am AEDST Tomorrow ONLY)!!!'

        Good work JeffreyM!

        • Thanks, however - the amount of times this post has been updated today has been crazy!

      • just processed mine after midnight. got all $50 still.

  • Website is still not working, when you click 'Buy MP3' - it doesn't let you download the song that you wanted to buy.

    • It is having some problems - maybe all the people trying to get on to take advantage of this deal. Must keep trying - too good to resist - family must be temporarily ignored….

  • Hmm, cannot log in to bandit.fm at the moment …

    • I'm now logged in, but it's taking a long time for bandit.fm to display pages … :)

      • Speed okay now and/or I've gone from trying to put in 5 vouchers (on 5 different tabs) to just 1 voucher at a time :)

        • Thanks InLikeFlynn :)

Got all the vouchers. Will look at what to get later tonight and/or tomorrow :)

  • I got an error message after entering in the codes, but the credit did get applied to my account. All $50 worth. Hurrah!

  • Note you may need to enter the voucher details 2 times on each occasion. Seems if you log in through the herald sun the web site only likes to recognise the herald sun - enter it again at bandit.fm and it should accept the code. Keep persisting and you will get there. I signed up from scratch and now have $50 in my account. Will be shopping for some music tonight.

  • $120 worth of free credit for my two bandit.fm accounts this week. Awesome!

    • $140 if you use both the Paypal and Qantas offers too!

Just read this in the T&C:
"The purchase of a Product from the bandit.fm Site entitles you to only one full successful download of the Product. Sony Music implements a download receipt system under which Sony Music receives a digital notification once you have fully downloaded a purchased Product. Once Sony Music has received that notification you will not be able to download the Product again unless you make a separate purchase of that Product. Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product. Sony Music shall not be liable to you in the event of any loss, destruction or damage to Products which is not due to the negligence of Sony Music"

Glad I'm not paying real money!

How is it different to buying a CD? If you buy a CD and lose it, you're not gonna be able to show your receipt to a shop and expect them to give you another one for free. :)

  • Looks like they are doing something :)

    Getting a Website Unavailable message

    • I just used all five codes and it worked fine, so now i'm off to buy $50 worth of music.

  • These coupons mean I can buy a couple of complete albums. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    • I highly suggest buying albums that you like.
      :)

    • If i tell u my order can you email it to me once you've downloaded it?

  • I keep getting an error trying to activate my account. so frustrating. They need to fix up their site.

  • Tip

    Logging on problem

When trying to log on, via Firefox, it seems that Bandit is taking ages to log me in. (Keeps spinning that arrow in a circle)

After a number of minutes, I clicked cancel, then went to the home page, and found I'm already logged in …

  • awesome but seems traffic is very busy

  • +1

Was getting about 50 kb/s speed, downloading before midnight. Though since it was 2 albums, I guess that's 100 kb/s, roughly

    Getting 300 - 400 kb/s speed now, downloading 1 album.

    (Note: Telstra cable user; Victoria)

I was also able to preview a video, so bandwidth might be okay again

Also yes, confirming that I've been able to use my credits to get albums and that the credits from this promo have been used up first. (I still have a credit from earlier that hasn't been touched yet)

  • These codes plus the Qantas FF code means $60 of free credit, great deals, well posted!

  • Is anyone having problems with the webpage? I can get into the website but then it greys out and I can't click on anything on the page…

  • Do we have to use all the credit before tonight?

    or

Once you got the free credit you use later when you feel like it?

    • I'm not sure about this (maybe someone else can advise). I think it would be hard to remove credits from your account one you have redeemed your vouchers IMHO.

      • +1

I have had credit removed from my account in the past due to these promo vouchers expiring. Thus, I wouldn't be surprised if the credits do indeed expire tonight.

        • which vouchers did you use and got credit removed?

it will be pity if the credit will expire tonight :(

i'm even haven't trouble to download 1 song :( , server is so lag

          • +1

            @duke9: take 40 from 40.

Every month they take away the unused voucher (portion of voucher) and add a new one …

  • Does anyone have a problem with the code, when i enter the code and click next it says voucher code required. I'm probably doing something wrong but is there some trick with this code ?

    • Make sure you use the link from this bargain then type in the code.

      • Without seeing what you are doing …

if you clicked on the Brisbane link, next to the Voucher Code, there are 2 fields, separated by a hyphen "-".

In the first field you would put 217
In the second field you would put bandit

Then you have to read the verification code and enter that in the field next to "Enter your verification code".

If any people from bandit.fm are reading this, can you please make the borders around all fields on the website darker and thicker.

The borders are showing up as faint, hair thin lines, if I look closely enough.

        • If the people from bandit.fm are reading this can you make it possible for us to see who the artists are in a compilation album by 'Various Artists'!

  • This is a great bargain but I can't even register on the site now.

EDIT: Still maintaining it's a great bargain for those who can get it but I can't even register, still after 3 hours. Pretty annoyed and have tried 3 different notebooks (Win7/IE, Ubuntu/Firefox and Leopard/Safari) and still no luck.

    Have they closed it early??

  • ahhh thanks, i could not even see the borders around the boxes (my contrast must be out) was putting the whole code in first box, although now i can't get anywhere like previous person :(

  • It seems like the accounts part of their system is overloaded, I can create an account (activation email sent) but I can't activate. From what I've seen downloads can be quite fast today > 500k/sec

  • I cant even sign up… have tried and gotten two activation emails.. when I follow the link I get a blank page but chrome says its done loading.. so I goto bandit.fm and try login and my account dosent exist!?
Would love $50 of free music but not for this much effort… I can see why the pirates always win

  • WEll its a win for me. My account also indicates credit expires on the 16 th december. SO if you can get through and get credit, servers should ease off a little and we can then get the music

  • Still haven't been able to actually download anything - I always seem to get timed out. Anyone had any issues with certain browsers?

  • +3

is everyone still having trouble getting on the page? I can't even log in. It's just waiting and waiting.

    • Same here!

  • +2

I have around $15 worth of credit yet & haven't been able to log-on since around 12pm today - if the credit is gone by tomorrow, I don't mind (as I downloaded all the songs I really wanted), although it would have been good to have some extra tunes. Oh well, guess like it's over to The Age's iTunes Promotion & their offerings…

  • +2

Wow, what a surprise: servers are flooded and almost no-one can log in to use their free-for-Australia-but-only-valid-for-1-day vouchers. And I'm guessing that Sony had no idea something like this would happen :) Can anyone say "Catch Of The Day"?

  • well i got in, but I got this message when entering the voucher "this voucher cannot be redeemed from here". Any ideas?

  • Pretty annoyed it turned out to be a like CotD. While I accept it's a bargain, still very annoyed I wasn't able to even use 1 voucher.

This has been a very negative experience.

  • Hoping they'll extend all credits that existed at the start of today by 2 days to sort this all out … this is looking unimpressive :S

    • Can you organise an edit of the topic to inform people what's happened, it might stop people wasting their time. (I've tried numerously every 2 hours since noon, and no luck).

  • The server issues have been in my favour, the site might be slow as but $60 credit has somehow turned in to $100 credit…

    • Does the credit expire today, or is it just the voucher codes that expire today?

    • That happened to me, too - got credited twice for Perth's offer.

    • Same, on the Sunday morning of the promotion - bandit.fm forgot to charge me for around ten songs (they charged for the first one, but didn't take credit out for my other songs in the first lot), not going to complain!

  • +1

doesnt work anymore =.= i feel jipped lol

    • The site alternates between slow and quick to fetch bits of pages.

I purchased a few more CDs. (After purchasing it asks if you want to download; I didn't bother as you can later go to your account, purchase history, and download the "Ready" albums)

It's taking forever to try and download one of the albums … guessing speed will pick up tomorrow …

      • It's back to normal now! 700+KB/s downloads here.

  • +1

This is so frustrating, been trying since yesterday and now in queensland its expired , all I got was error messages or it times-out as I was trying to log in (it took so long to move from each page), and no response to my enqires, alas no free download for me, but congrats to those who got them

  • got all my free downloads working fine now at 12am perth time most must have given up being 3am over east -

  • brilliant deal, too bad i missed it…

  • I've just checked my account and I still have voucher $ in there. Looks like my voucher $ that I didn't spend haven't been wiped.

    • Same, I still have my $15.31 of credit left (part of a News Limited voucher & the $10 PayPal voucher - both meant to expire last night)

      • I've only got the $10 PayPal voucher now. Looks like the News Limited vouchers expired =(

  • Well, between the rush and server issues, I ended "purchasing" the same album twice. Hopefully they will rectify it for me. A pity their system is not smart enough to avoid duplicate purchases like iTunes, unless it depends on the way purchases are made - ie free vouchers vs "real" money.

    • Same here. I lodged 2 enquiries with them yesterday re dup purchases but no reply as yet. So today I sent them another prompt to organise a credit back to the a/c. Looks like they may still be having web-site issues.

      • Save your effort if those are the credits from News Limited vouchers because they were expired anyway.

      • I Sent an enquiry as I was also charged the same album twice and I didn't really expect them to reverse it seeing as I had redeemed $50 in newspaper vouchers but low and behold I got an email today apologising and offering me a $20 credit to make up for it (album was only worth $17) yippee
