Oh man this is going to be a tough week resisting these. I'll stay strong!

Occasionally they are the soft ones which are the best. Last time got a pack that was rock hard so fed them to the dog. Kept him chewing on them for hours.

Yep, soft ones make me feel like all is right with the world.

    • I bought a pack last time it was on sale, and it was barely cooked.
I thought about taking it back but it wasnt worth the time :(

pop a slice of bread in the pack and leave it for a while, it will soften them up.

    • I found the same issue - they were great for a while and then I bought about three packs in a row, baked on different days, all were rock hard and we threw most of them out.

Ended up getting the ones from Coles which are actually edible by those with normal human teeth.

Just dunk them in some milk and they're good to go. What a waste to throw them out.

    • You didn't simply microwave them for 5-20 seconds?

Anzac biscuits are amazing while warm, the others are better at room temp still so only do 5-10s and let them cool a little. Anzac go for 10-15, eat warm.

Saw a massive stack at my local - they looked delicious but I didn't pull the trigger. Bargain.

Just in time for ANZAC Day!

Only 9 months away, not that long haha.

  • Does Woolies still sell those sultana cornflakes cookies ? Haven't seen them for a while

    • Haven't seen them in 10 years at least, used to be a staple, I had forgotten all about them until you mentioned it

  • Anyone who got a pack, what's the expiry like on these? Thinking of stocking up a little at this price.

    • +3

They're not packed in airtight containers so they'll probably be stale after a couple of days. Maybe only buy 20-30 packets.

      • Maybe only buy 20-30 packets.

        ONLY!!! 😮

      • You could probably freeze them :D

    • Pack I bought today has a best before date of 23 July. Doesn't say when they were baked but given the price it was probably today, or yesterday.

  • I keep looking for chewy anzac recipes but they still all come out hard.

    • Google for tips on how to modify cookie recipes to make them soft/chewy. Various techniques/tweaks to try :) eg: http://www.quora.com/Baking/How-do-I-make-cookies-that-are-s…

I remember getting the occasional lucky pack of soft anzac cookies from Woolies or Coles years back. Amazing. Then all I could get was hard ones. Gave up on buying cookies since.

    • undercook them a little. use lower heat and cook them on the bottom shelf

WARNING: These are dangerous. Once you open the pack and have 1 cookie, it's very easy to polish them off in 1 day.

  • You know what they say, no cookie, no nookie

  • It maybe cheap but still no comparison to the Arnotts cookies with 40% choc chip (in a box)….mmmmm…..cookies…..

  • We are Australian and we call them Biscuits not (american) cookie…

    I love Anzacs :)
