  • Asus deal looks a little better:

    • Might come down to personal preference, Dell with LED screen, I think Asus has a 2 year warranty and is 100mhz faster lol!

      • +1

Forget the lol mate. If you compare the specs you'll see that for $1 for the Asus you get:

        Faster processor (2.1 v 2.0)
        More memory (4GB v 3GB)
        Larger hard drive (320GB v 250GB)
Larger screen (16" v 15.6") but Dell is LED if that's important.
        Bluetooth
        Free upgrade to Windows 7

        • lol, it still comes down to personal preference, the Dell doesn't look as glitzy which I like.

Asus deal is in store at MLN only so only available in Vic. For those elsewhere, this deal is very similar and in my opinion almost as good as the asus specs wise.

      • +1

Not everyone lives in Melbourne so the MLN offer is limited and not comparable to this one.

For the specs this is a very good buy even though it is a Dell.

This is a very good deal, I'm assuming from google this has a ATI 4570 graphics card (officeworks doesn't seem to ever say), also coming with Vista and 3gb of ram I may also assume it's a 32bit installation which would necessitate installing Windows 7 from scratch if upgrading to 64bit instead of upgrading. I'd consider it if I hadn't bought a new laptop yesterday!

Re>>> necessitate installing Windows 7 from scratch …!!

Not really… Inststall SP2 for Vista and would be better than W7.

    • upgrading from scratch is something you should do anyway, get rid of the bloatware

  • Good price, but sold out now

  • Not sold out in store …… check your local I bought one tonight.. it comes with free upgrade to windows 7 too btw :)

    • cool, i'll try to see if the local stores got them
