  • I just came back from the US. Bought an AT&T on ebay, had it activated and loaded with the at&t $60 plan all online (unlimited + 4GB) before I left, and it was good to go as I landed.

I found AT&T network to be generally more compatible with my Australian phones and more reliable.

    • +1

      AT&T more compatible?
      How old are your phones?

Of the current crop of high-end smartphones Samsung S6 is slightly better for USA, iphone6 and LG G3 slightly better for Europe. These three are the stand-out phones at the moment and could be considered world-phones.

See https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/83820413/mobile_phone_ba… for a comparative list.

      • Hi there Coriander, thank you very much for drafting up and contributing your thorough analysis. Love it!

  • hi TravelSim people

I arrive in the US on 8 Oct - can I still buy this deal & activate the SIM for say 7 Oct?

    • +1

Should be able to sneak one in!

  • Sorry for the re-post. I cannot delete this comment.

  • Can anyone advise how long standard post took to get to Perth?

    • Usually about 2-7 Business Days from where we are in Melbourne!

  • I have a Nexus 6, looks like according to this chart (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/83820413/mobile_phone_ba…) I shouldn't be buying this sim, 4G won't work?

    • damn, i have the nexus 5 and seems the same. How bad will the internet be on these phones? Already purchased a t mobile sim :(

      • Not sure, I want the store rep to answer. Looks like 3G will still work though (according to that chart)

        • Based on the thorough analysis completed by Coriander. You will likely experience HSPA+ speeds (Higher speeds than 3G) with your handset.

  • Can you do a deal on the simple mobile 10gb ? X2 ?

  • Is this sold out? Can you release some more of these? Or any other offer for US sim cards

  • Hi there. Please let me know if you get some more of these in stock. Cheers

    • Will do mate!

  • I ordered one at 0930 on Monday morning, am in MEL, hence am wondering when I can expect to receive it as I'd have thought I would have by now!?

    • yeah mines still not here, perhaps they send it through close to the travel date? Although I wouldn't expect that.

      • Hey guys, we were flooded with sales this deal in particular. We have shipped out most orders, a small percentage of orders for later travel dates have been either packaged over the weekend or in the next day or two. So everyone will get them well before they leave and very soon if not already.
Sorry if there was an inconvenience caused!

        • No worries. Thanks for letting me know; just as long as I have it before the 17th August we're all good!

        • @carlenet: No worries at all! Thanks for your understanding :)

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

Hi there - I ordered on Monday the 13th also, and had an activation date of late August as that's when I will be in the US, but I'm leaving the country this Friday. Should I be worried I won't receive the SIMs before I leave on Friday?

        • @ruski23: Hey mate, you shouldn't. Looking into it now, worst case I will express post you replacements to make sure you get them by Thursday!

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

Great - thanks for the prompt reply :)

  • Question: how do I get the phone numbers associated with the sim cards?

    Thanks,

    • +1

They get text messaged to you once you put the sim in in the U.S.

      • Thanks for that

  • what happen to their website…. hmmm

    • Updating to a brand new site… porting is taking a bit longer than we want but nearly there!
