Damn I thought they were only $70 - ozpricetricker

Need to change the wording of your title. Makes it sound like they are $70!

  • +2

    OP, $70 off… not $70 for.

  • +2

So what is the new price? -$70 in the title is misleading- you should put the actual price in the title.

  • +2

    Yes, title is misleading

  • Fixed the title

    These are old iPods

    • +2

Yes, but only by 2 days.

      • +2

The specs haven't been updated since 2012.

        • +1

But only 2 days ago they weren't "old iPods".

        • @chrism238: Depends on your interpretation, either way they weren't a good buy.

Newer modles just launched yesterday with better specs, worth that extra 70 bucks

    • +1

      Plus uses latest A8 processor

      • +2

I wouldn't worry so much about all those top notch specs… it's the battery I would worry about after the bad experiences me and my family have had with them!

    • The new ipod touch actually is quite tempting.. and I'm not too much of a fan..

This deal came up in my emails with the original title "JB Hifi: Apple iPod Touch -$70 for 32/64GB (from $349/$419)" - couldn't get here fast enough thinking they were $70.

    • +3

Quick, to the OzB pitchforks! We must demand that od810 honours the $70 price :)

  • Old iPod Touches not worth it. Get the 2015 iPod Touch.
'New' Nanos and shuffles defo not worth it.

    I bought the 16gb version for $169 almost 2 years ago. www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117765

This is not the "2014" version. Up until yesterday there hasn't been a new ipod touch released for almost 3 years.

http://www.macrumors.com/roundup/ipod-touch/ - refer to timeline on this page

There was a 2014 update to at least the 16GB model, which by the looks of it was to add the camera and loop wrist strap capabilities, along with some internal layout changes no one really cares about. The 32 and 64GB models however were essentially unchanged for three years. Anyway that was a relatively minor update that was already based on and old design back in 2014.

Anyway if you only care about music maybe the old models ok, otherwise I'd get the new one with the faster processor which will run apps better and probably be supported through iOS updates for longer as well.

I got the 32GB version for $256 last year at Officeworks so it's not the cheapest price ever.

You might want to wait a bit and then shop around if they're starting to drop prices now.

Officeworks haven't dropped their prices yet so you could get them 5% cheaper than JB.

the new iPod Touch 6th Gen is worth the $70 extra… 8mp camera, iphon6 processor just a tad slower (so they can prolong the battery life on the iPod touch).

    • That's great to hear. I just picked one up as a birthday surprise for my mum, I think her current one is 4th gen.

  • I played with a Gold colour one today. I'd love to have my next iPhone in that form factor!
