This should come to $834.27. Great price!

A few people noted the Lenovo OneLink Pro Dock should also be available for $1 as seen here, but I can't see how to add this. Maybe try chatting to a sales person.

I ended up buying this as my iMac was dying and wanted to move back to PC.

Thanks for the tip, I couldn't get anywhere near this spec/price elsewhere, and my work uses Lenovo so our corporate discount took it down to the same as student pricing, e.g. $821

  • choices choices - this or a refurbished dell latitude with lower res screen (but touch), only i5 but otherwise pretty similarly spec'd and priced? your thoughts welcome

I use a Latitude E7440. But it's also got a 1920*1080 non touch screen. Great computer.
Personally, I think touch is a waste, it's heavier and not at all suitable for constant use. Holding your arms out and up to touch a screen is not good for your postural health.
I've just bought the Lenovo i7 for my partner. I would have bought one for myself if I didn't already have the Latitude.
I'd go the Lenovo, why? Because it has a Non touch screen, higher res screen, core i7, brand new.

      • thanks and agreed - decided to go the lenovo. Student discount plus, hopefully, cash rewards helped swing the deal as well as the advantages you flag.

I find a touchscreen not useful for myself, but very useful to show other people something on the laptop (so they can navigate using the touchscreen).
I'd personally get a laptop that is 1080p and at the same time touch enabled.

  • if only the $1 dock works or i have student email, i will buy this

anywhere to add a HDD internally?

    • this is a good question.

Possibly silly question - this doesn't look like it comes with dvd/blueray drive. Could I literally just pull out a dvd drive for a couple of years old samsung laptop (NPV350V5c-S02 that I also got from Ozbargain :D) and attach it onto here? Does it have a place for it or do I have to get an external drive?

The $1 dock seems to be a promo that (now) applies to the X1 Carbon. Bought an E450. Been looking for a sub-$1000 fullHD laptop for a while, be good to have a nipple to play with again…

    • NYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS , white red-pinkish nipple

  • Thanks so much OP. Just purchased- with the student discount and also the cash rewards combo. Interesting to see if it works!I think its a hell of an ugly laptop, but the for the value for money its waaaay out in front of anything else I can find. Plus it might make me seem better looking when I walk around with it.

  • Is it still worth it (money wise) to get laptops from the USA if you're going there personally anyway? Or is it better getting it from here then claiming back GST?

  • $821.55 with student email address.

The student price has gone up to $854.05

damn was just about to pull the trigger too…

      • Me too. Anyway, there is always next time.

  • Hey guys, I had bought the E450, I'm wondering should i upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8.1 since that it's free? I've heard that windows 10 have some bugs issues so I'm not too sure? Thanks

    • Upgraded yesterday, download and install took several hours, runs with no worries. I had only installed firefox, vlc and a few other essentials before upgrading to Windows 10 and it uses a fair bit of space, so an upgraded ssd is in the pipeline within 6 months or so.

      • I'll be upgrading the SSD as soon as it comes out of the box. Had a spare 240gb sitting on my desk for months now from an ozbargain "bought, will find use for later" purchase ;)
