Samsung M-Series Speakers - M3 $129 @ Appliances Online / M5 $147.40 (+ $7.40 P/H) @ Techbuy

50

Following on from buying the Samsung HW751 Sound bar from this deal yesterday.

I went ahead and started wondering if I should get a few Samsung M-series speakers to really fill out my place with tunes. Major competitor is obviously Sonos, which is generally accepted to be better sound quality, but only just and some disagree completely. Additional features of the Samsungs + the price, definitely outweigh Sonos minor sound benefits IMHO (I'm obviously not an audiophile though).

Onto the deals:
- Samsung M5 (WAM550) for $147.40 (+$7.90 shipping to Sydney city) at techbuy. Retails for $229 at JB Hifi and from a limited amount of googling while at work, couldn’t find it being cheaper anywhere before this.
- Samsung M3 (WAM350) for $129 & free shipping at appliances online (thanks to Spackbace). $149 at JB, but this still seems at/near lowest price as well. Also interestingly, the M5 is cheaper than the M3 on techbuy… go figure.

Couldn’t find the Multi-room Hub for a bargain anywhere unfortunately. $59 seems to be the lowest from my (again limited) searches.

These aren't the kind of M3's and M5's I'm looking for

  • Only works with Samsung smart tvs?
Would have grabbed one if I could use it with my Sony

  • H751 has an optical in for pre 2014 Samsung or other brands TV. Sadly not on M series.

  • Dropped by Goodguys to have a listen to the M5, they onlu had M7 on show, which sounded great.

M7 selling for $170, is the better sound worth it compared to the M5?
