  • Good for those without time restrictions as you never know when you gonna be reschedule by the airline unexpectedly ;)

I've been flying tiger nearly every week since April and haven't hit a delay or cancelled flight yet.

the issues with tiger have been overblown. I've flown with them a few times and never had an issue.

      • I almost did, but they rescheduled my flight from early morning to evening when I needed to be in OOL in the afternoon. I jumped on competitors plane for double the price, but I got there on time. This was 5 years ago. Cancellation of the flight was another issue, as their local number on their website was disconnected, hence I called Singapore. After four phone calls I finally got negative response, and was asked to deal with TigerAir locally at the airport. But guess what, TigerAir did not have an office at the airport so I had to go there personally when check-in was opened. So I did, lodged the claim and got my refund in 12 weeks. That was my first and last experience with TigerAir. Hope for others, the service of theirs' has improved

        • 5 years ago they were bad. Now they are completely owned by Virgin Australia and I have had no issues with them.

        • that was the second time same thing happened over christmas school holidays 2014/2015 due to fly back on the 10pm flight out of sydney cancelled while we were at check in counter. thankfully got on a flight the next day so was happy to give them the benefit of the doubt but this second incident with the lack of rescheduling flights and the weak response of "we will refund your money in up to 6 weeks and now you have to book another flight" left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe its just an issue with the last flights out? Who knows.

      • took tigerair bris-melb return in may and june and both times on time with no problems.

    • My daughter flew from Perth to Sydney 2 weeks ago. She had the midnight flight which got cancelled an hour before take off, had to wait around another hour just to find out any details. Finally find out that they would not be able to reschedule anyone on another flight as it was school holidays and all they could do was offer a refund (which would take up to 6 weeks)… So then you had 100 people at the departure area on their phones desperately trying to book a flight on another airline. So what started as a $200 one way flight ended up costing $400 as that was the cheapest flight that could be booked. Never again.

      • So they are not that different to what they were 5 years ago, even after being in hands of Virgin AU. It takes probably only one really bad experience and one looks elsewhere. In my case, I had only the bad experience, none before, none after it, with TigerAir.

  • any sydney to melb deals rep?

        op is not a rep

  • Is it easy to link two flights to get to one area without much waiting time
Eg Brisbane to Sydney $19 then hop on a plane to Perth for $75
    Like changing trains

In theory it works. If your first flight is late, you may miss your second leg though which will leave a very sour taste in your mouth for the saving of a few bucks…
