Good for all those posters with annoying neighbours

    • Damn. This deal is a week too late! We've just put our house on the market because of our annoying neighbours :(

      • Give them a parting gift of sleep depravation

Oh yes, we'll be doing that for sure but more along the lines of a 'House Cooling' party pumping Sepultura, Korn, Mudvayne, Tool, NIN etc. through large PA bins.

Should have put their house on the market.

Nah, time to move anyway as we're a 'child-free' couple in a 'family' neighbourhood slowly being pushed out by parents busting to get into the local School catchment. Another couple of years and we'll be surrounded by 'entitled' folks with their bratty little offspring ruining it for everyone else around them.

@SteveAndBelle: little Jaydien and Mahayla will love playing with all their new friends.

@altomic: What about Na-a (Nadasha)? My brother's a teacher and told me that one last year. I didn't believe him but apparently (unfortunately) it's genuine! Wow, what a world.

  • It would be great if other music shops can beat Dicks price!

    Haha, specs: Quiet Operation No

  • Nothing wrong with these kits. Some memory foam, pillows, or blankets from around your house, then factor in some money for decent heads and rubber practice pads (after a few months of playing) and you'll be sweet.

Costs at least 2.5X as much for a decent Behringer Electric modelling drum kit.

  • Anyone found a store in WA with stock?

  • Out of stock online…..

  • Cool! Buy two of them, and extra symbol and maye a cow bell and to those who don't know better you can look like Phil Collins. At least until someone hears you play. Or you hit the snare or symbol a few times and it looks like it's been in a high speed traffic accident.

As a kid I had a "Dolphin" brand kit that was horrible. Then I made the mistake of trying to clean the chrome with WD-40 with the skins still on. At which point it sounded muffled, dead and horrible. Never did get round to replacing those skins….good times.

Can someone comment on the quality?

    • I've never seen or used it, but when it comes to instruments there is definitely some truth to "You get what you pay for". You don't need to spend $5k to get something good, but a decent kit anywhere under $500 brand new is unlikely. The best use for this kit has already been mentioned above, annoying neighbours. It may also be useful for discouraging beginners from learning drums.

I'm surprised more people don't snare one of these!

      Boom tish!

  • What on earth is Dick Smith doing selling drum kits?

  • Drum Kit… at Dick Smith Electronics (or what-was).

    What have you become?!
