  • If my sums are correct that's 25% off a $100 spend.
    That's not bad.

    • -1

It's slightly better than that, or 0.252525253% of $99 spend to be precise.

      • +7

Unless you spend $100, then it's 25% as originally stated :)

        • +9

          It was 99.83729768% correct.

    • +3

Except, many (most?) of their normal prices are hilarious.

  • +6

Toshiba Canvio Slim II 1TB seems a decent deal for $74 with code.

    • +1

Coupon code "PAYBACK45" is not valid.

      • Sorry, you are right, code does not work for the Oppo R7. Not sure why not, it is not in the exclusions list? Might be worth calling them to check.

I've been looking for a small bluetooth speaker, the Sony SRS X3 seems a decent deal at $90 C+C, so I finally committed to it.

Was looking at that or the Bose, but it's hard to justify the price jump to the Bose. But in looking at DSE's site the last week, the base price has been 6 different prices, $93 without a discount, $93 with a discount if you buy over $100 (lasted about 5 minutes, I didn't get in), $93 with a discount if you get to $150 total, $115 without a discount, $125 with a $25 discount, now $115 with $25 off. It makes me dizzy trying to keep up with their pricing.

    • Shame the Sony SRS X3 is $115 before code. I got one when it was $99 - $25 = $74. Very happy with it's sound for the size, but now having heard the X5 model, I may get that and sell the X3. The X5 has more bass, but it is twice the size. Depends how you plan to use it I guess.

      • I've run out of time, and couldn't see the X5 in stock anywhere for under $250+. From what I can tell the X3 will be better and more portable than my old broken bluetooth speaker, so happy enough with that.

That said, been almost 2 hours, no SMS yet, hope they really have stock.

        • +1

I'm sure you will love the X3, it is less than half the price of the Bose Soundlink Mini, but 90% as good.

        • You'll certainly get your money's worth with the X3 - great speaker.

I placed a C&C order at 5am last Fri, didn't get any notification all day. Popped into the store just before 5pm closing to see what the status was and the guy nonchalantly said, "Yeah, we've got some C&Cs, but haven't looked at them."

He did punch the register keys and process my C&C on the spot, so I was happy - but otherwise I guess they might have got around to it Monday, maybe :)

I just ordered a JBL Charge 2 through their website. Normally its $229 (I think), but is on special for $149, minus the $25 cashback. From the reviews I've read, it's on par with the soundlink mini (arguably better if you prefer the highs and mids versus the bose). $124 made me pull the trigger as I haven't seen it for cheaper anywhere else.

  • Do these codes normally exclude gaming consoles?

    • Wanted to get a Logitech Racing Force GT but code does not work. Bummer :(

    • +3

Last year DSE were amazing with their console gaming deals. Ever since then though they've rarely included them into their deals. A little disappointing.

  • +2

Never really understood the mentality behind "if you spend more, you save less. Heaps less!"

    • +2

25% saved is 75% wasted, if we didn't need it.

    • +7

They're dealing with Australian consumers. Seems like a marketing genius.

    • -1

      Welcome to OzBargain :)

    • Could it be because there is less markup on more expensive items?

  • damn.. wanted to use it to preorder CODIII and Star Wars Battlefront :(
    didnt work

Get the Seagate 1TB portable drive plus a $20 item, for $74 :)

    • Sold out anywhere near me :(

    • sold out in NSW

      • The red one wasn't sold out, think I just ordered the last on at Miranda.

    Are there any deals? :)

  • For some reason it says Coupon code "PAYBACK25" is not valid. I am trying to buy Sennheiser OCX685i Sports Headset. Are they the part of exclusions? Cannot work it out. Thanks

    • The Sennheiser OCX685i Sports Headset doesnt cost enough. That voucher is only valid for $99+

      • Sure! I was trying to buy two plus another stuff to ensure i cross 99 mark for sure…

        Thanks.

        • That doesn't sound very Economical!

        • Ha Ha! agreed… needed for gym for myself and my buddy..!

  • +4

Where are all the TV deals at?

    • am waiting too… no TV deals for long

  • -2

Does the coupon work on all products? As it doesn't work on APPLE TV with the coupon PAYBACK25.

    • +2

You must be new here, with most DS sales there is an exclusion list as long as your arms. As this is an Apple product it is excluded.

    • +2

The op didn't just write all that stuff down so we could make up questions to his answers…

    • +1

Dick has a long one (exclusion list).

Might even be the longest in industry.

  • +17

Why is this spam on the front page? Dont upvote DS unless its an extraordinary deal. Otherwise you are giving them free advertising and justifying the stingy exclusion list

    • +4

Ok, it may not be the deal of the century, but I'm sure it's useful for some people, otherwise it wouldn't be getting any plus votes.

      • Yep totally agree with you… But i stand by my comment. Not trying to make it a competition but id like to see my comment get more upvotes than your post…i for one am sick of dicks tricks!

      • +5

The best part of posting a deal like this that people fossick through DSE's website and post the gems here in the comments.

    • +1

This is the highest level of discount Dick Smith generally offers unless stacking coupons and gift cards to acquire Macbook Airs for $800.

  • +2

Just bought a Jabra Tour for $74.98 click and collect. Not bad.

  • +1

Sony Active Sports Bluetooth Headset currently on clearance for $99 - after discount = $74.
Bargain for semi-decent Bluetooth headphones. Sony have a suggest retail of $229 for these.

  • +6

I've been waiting for one of these 'deals' to get one of the Garmin fitness trackers. Surprise surprise, DS put the price up $26 yesterday..

    http://electronics.ozpricetracker.com/garmin-vivofit-2-navy/…

    BS.

    • +2

      That shouldn't be allowed. Tossers.

    • +2
    • +3

Products have to be sold for a certain amount of time at their regular price so that when they go on sale retailers are legally allowed to say it's a sale price. So the price didn't 'increase', it just went back to the 'normal' price.

  • +2

Dick is certainly owed some payback.

  • Thanks, got one of them fitness trackers.

  • +1

Dick Smith are still dicking me around from the last bargain.
They closed a store for renovation and accepted orders online for click and collect.
You would think I could just pickup from the next closest store, no that's too easy and makes sense. (and they have stock)

Its now two weeks of calling a poor english call centre with massive delays each time, to be told, they cant change store location.
After some debate they said would home deliver as they say it cant be picked up from a store. Each phone call now the same, still pending waiting for authorisation to change the order.

Dick Smith, now offering everything but basic customer service.
