Every generation they tout massive improvements, commonly they are there but much less obvious in actual benchmarking.
Love my SP3, it's excellent gear (mostly using it for uni and PDF marking up).

This is actually more usefully in every way, price makes more sense than the iPad, and this is more commonly owned and used.
Everything is cheaper compared with JB, except a few camera stuff they try to clear out.
I'm tempted but the LTE version would make it a must have work tool.

But I also own it by not over paying for things.

I recently got a Surface Pro 3 and I have to say it's up there with the best devices I've ever laid my hands on. Build quality is amazing, the 2K resolution screen is amazing, battery life is great (getting 7-8 hours at least), and the real killer feature is the Pen IMO. It is amazingly accurate and responsive, and being able to quickly grab the SP3, press the button on the pen, and instantly be hand writing notes to OneNote is just awesome. Saves so much time and paper.
Don't listen to anyone that tells you Windows 10 is worse for tablet use either - as someone who has a 7" Win8.1 tablet, a Surface RT, and a SP3, Win10 in tablet mode on this is fantastic and light years ahead of Win8.1 on tablets.
Just wondering , how do you actually get 7-8 hours . I'm about to sell mine as I'm disappointed with the battery hours that only managed 4 hours in a normal web browsing and half brightness . I'm also not happy with the impracticality of the way the tablet sits with its half wing … And flimsy keyboard …
My i5 got about 3.5 hours movie time. I heard i3 has more battery life.
I wasn't even able to get 4 hours tbh, like 3 hours max. Sent into warranty repair and see how we go with replacement

@eug: the ideal is charging through wifi signal so once a device is connected to a wifi it will be charged!
