Banggood are having a sale on these for the next few days. I've been watching these since they came out and it's the best price I've found. These chargers have received very good reviews and seem to be preferred over the Nitecore D4/i4 which regularly appear on Ozbargain.

Please note these are powered by micro-USB. The cable is included but the wall adapter is not.

The charger is compatible with:

10440/14500/14650/16340/17500/17670/18350/18490/18500/18650/18700/22650/25500/26650/32650 3.6V/3.7V Li-ion and AAAA/AAA/AA/A/SC/C/D and Ni-MH/Ni-CD batteries.

    eneloop?

    • Yeah it'll charge Eneloops. I've just updated the original post with a compatibility list.

      • Thanks, what benefit does this have over the super cheapo eneloop brand charger?

  • Does it tell you the charged capacity of the cell once done? I can see mentions of capacity but the context appears to be charge rate rather than capacity.

    • I have one of these units and it tells you the amount of charge required to fully charge the battery. To get a total capacity available you would have to completely discharge the battery first.

So for example, if it shows 1550mAh at completion of charge of my 2100mAh Eneloop AA, that was how much was required to charge it, and not the total charged capacity available (unless the battery was completely flat).

This charger does not have a discharge function, so you would have to do that separately.

      • Thanks for the detailed reply, bit of a bummer as I'd like one that discharged and then measured 18650's, would love to know how fake these 4000MAh ones really are.

I've only ever looked for a 18650 charger that does this once before and what I found was way too pricey, was hoping this was the answer.

        • would love to know how fake these 4000MAh ones really are.

if they are anything like the ones i got bundled with a torch from asia they will be around 300-400mah…

my bt-c3100 does discharge, was around the same cost as this but the only time i tried it with a AA it cooked the battery, tho i have a maha ma-9000c (i think thats the model no) for AA/AAA's anyway so dont need the bt for them anyway.

Evidently this was bad advice; so I've removed it.
Thank you for setting me straight Nosdan.

        • @GnarlyKnuckles: the amount of power it takes to charge the battery is not always consistent with its discharge capacity

as for short circuiting lipos to completely flatten them…… no, just no. wrong on so many levels.

        • @nosdan:
What's a 'lipo', and why is it bad to flatten a battery 'manually'? How do the chargers that completely flatten batteries before recharging them do it? I always assumed they just applied unimpeded drain on them until they were flat? No?

          @GnarlyKnuckles:

Lithium-ion batteries can become unstable and more likely to go into thermal runaway if they are overcharged or discharged below their minimum safe voltage range. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery#Safety

Most devices that run on Li-Ion cells include circuitry that prevents overcharging/discharging. Some individual Li-Ion cells do as well as do most Li-Ion chargers. But the responsibility of proper battery management ultimately lies with you.

For those of you choosing between this or the VC2 (2 battery version), note that the VC2 does NOT charge eneloops (NiMH). I made the mistake of buying the VC2 assuming that it would charge eneloops (totally my fault, the information is listed on the website) because I didn't want the extra bulk of a 4 battery charger, only to find that I wasted my money.

I needed a decent battery charger that will take 18650 AND eneloops AND usb powered via a USB cable.

  • These can be run off a desktop computer tower yeah? Specially via the 'powered' USB slots on the back panel?

banggood site converts US $24.99 to AU $34.97, is our dollar that bad atm?

    nitecore i4 AU$22 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nitecore-Intellicharger-i4-Univer…

    is it that much worse?

any suggestions for "value" reverse/negative pulse charger(s) for 18650?

    cheers

    • Yes this is way way superior to i4. It has a better charging technique for NiMH batteries, has a display, charges faster, and charges more types of batteries.

  • This is a awesome product. charging 18650 and AA eneloops makes my life so much easier. hahaha.

  • I have been waiting for a good sale on this for a year or so. I bought a nitecore and really wish I got this instead. At this price, click, added to cart.

  • Thanks. Grabbed 2. Would be nice to get one with discharge, but for the price difference…

Been waiting a month for my last BangGood order. I've found them consistently the slowest of the big chinese suppliers.

      • -1

they usually send to me the fastest

      • It once took me 2 months for a flashlight to arrive from Gearbest…

I'm happy with Banggood's delivery time, second to fasttech IMO.

        • Maybe I've been unlucky but my stuff never takes less than a month.

  • How does this rate against Opus bt3100 and Nitecore D4 ?
Does it charge LiPo and similar chemistries ?
