    Strangely enough I ordered a set of these a few days ago on ebay for $3.75 using identical picture

    I'm guessing they are not genuine but how would you know given that buying more expensive product is no guarantee?

      $3.75 is definitely going to be a fake. I couldn't imagine genuine ones going for less than $15. Your best bet is to buy from a reputable store.

      First of all, the price for this item is CNY$49.00 at Xiaomi official website.
      At current AU dollar exchange rate, it's about AUD$11.00.
      Not to mention the shipping cost, GST, labor fee, etc.
      We ship all of our orders via AusPost eParcel with tracking and signature on arrival to make sure parcel is hassle free.
      As Australian registered business, we also provide GST invoice and 12 months local warranty.

      Now Let's compare this product that only cost CNY$17.
      Shipping from China to AU with tracking and signature will cost you CNY$45.00.
      That means they are shipping in regular mail without tracking, that is CNY$11.50 (AUD$2.50).
      As a result, after you minus the transaction cost and other fees, you are buying a product which only worth AUD$1.00 or less.

      Not sure how you define good quality, but the headphone you purchased, they only spent AUD$1.00 or less in its material.
      Can't imagine how far it can go.

      I tried the Piston 3 and tbh I think it's shit compared to the 2. Which would explain why I can find the Piston 3 cheaper than the Piston 2 usually.

      The bass performance in the Piston 3 is worse in my opinion.
