  • Just wondering, anyone know the calories of every 100g of nuggets excluding the dipping sauce? My google-fu only reveals the american nutritional facts.

    • +2

      1060kJ per 100g of Australian KFC nuggets / 253 calories per 100g.

      https://kfc.com.au/nutrition/

Add the nuggets to the table (type nuggets into that field saying "Search and select to add item") then in the top right corner, hit the Per 100g option.

That includes 1 sweet chilli sauce as default, so just search for the sweet chilli sauce on its own and subtract 1 serve from the 1060 kJ. 1 sweet chilli sauce = 285 kJ.

      • Thanks for trying but I did that already. I think it includes the chilli dip though, which is why the carbs are pretty high for meat.

        • Edited to include details about the sauce. Just subtract the quantities for one sweet chilli sauce. It has 16.3g of carbs.

        • @waterlogged turnip: Thanks Turnip, maybe I can fit 25 nuggets into my diet and still meet my macros =D

  • When does this deal expire?

  • Is this a good deal?

    • +2

nearly 200 upvotes in 4 hours for a deal that starts in 10 days.. I'd say yes

    • I think the usual price for 10 nuggets was like $8.95

      • -1

Hmm! I thought 6 nuggets were $3 so you can get 12 nuggets for $6 (well, unless that's just where I live). With this deal, all you're saving is $2 while at the same time you're increasing your waistline.

        • taQ is right $8.95 for 10

        • +3

@kima: I've just realized (well, been reminded) that I was mistaking HJ's for KFC.

Looks like I'll be visiting KFC for some time to come

I believe you missed a few zeroes in front of that zero lpl

        • He was wishful thinking. I had same idea.

  • +1

KFC nuggets aren't very good ,you're buying it for the sauce which they forget to put in half the time.

  • +1

Pretty sure this deal starts on the 11th, not the 18th.

$1 chips ends on the 10th.

  • +2

    Heavy Breathing Cat

  • Gonna bring my own chili sauce. You bewdy!

  • +1

I was wondering, isn't there a daily deal of 6 nuggets for $3 at the moment, or that isn't a nationwide? If that's available everywhere then all you're saving with this 24 nugget deal is $2 for the benefit of widening your waistline, innit? Extra .50c for 6 nuggets might be the better option for me, thanks.

    • +4

      That's hungry jacks

      • +1

O, you're right! Got them mixed up.

  • +1

Tried this deal the last time it was around, the nuggets were terrible. Put me off eating there since.

  • +2

They're pretty bad though. I tried a box once.

Most nuggets are made from leftover crap that couldn't be sold at the butcher

    • +11

so? less waste, less animals killed to make them and they taste good. whats they problem?

      • -5

        haha

you think they are doing this for your benefit, to waste less animals?

        It's all about the profits.

You think you are actually eating chicken meat, when you are just fed leftover chicken carcass that can't be sold in butchers.

And would you go to butcher to buy that carcass to eat?

        Enjoy your nuggets!!

        • +5

And would you go to butcher to buy that carcass to eat?

No way. That's a mugs game.

I'm on good terms with my butcher and they hide a free chicken carcass inside each whole chook I buy from them. Then I just add water, veggies and seasoning to it for free food. It's awesome.

I'd tell you which butcher, but I don't want them to be OzBargained.

        • I appreciate this informative post on making home made nuggets!

        • -4

Another excellent post Tyler. I like your style. We are getting negged into oblivion by the chicken police, nee naw nee naw.

    • +2

so are sausages, what's your point?

or is this some laughable attempt at putting us off the nuggets?

      • -4

        Eat all you want.
It's your choice and your body.

Just something I found out long ago.

And not just leftovers, but they grind the chicken carcass into a pulp mix.

So how much chicken meat are you really getting?

i saw that jamie oliver bit a long time ago as well and still give no chicken turds about it.

to quote jamie himself: "if you're hungry, you will eat it." applies both to vegies and to chicken nuggets.

        • Good post Tyler. Thank you:)

        • -4

          @tdw:

You are now eating the same stuff that dogs eat.

          Enjoy your chicken carcass!

This deal has already started in at least 2 stores in Brisbane (maybe all).

Was told by 1 store that it started on Sunday (9/8/15).

    • not active in the 2 stores near me on the gold coast.

  • +1

I personally like nuggets from Macca's. Are these as good? I find the only thing worth buying from KFC are wicked wings and zinger burger.

    • Me too, nice and firm with a crunchy coating, I find the KFC ones too gelatinous and they have a softer soggy coating similar to the traditional chicken pieces.

Last I heard Macca's will pricematch, or was that HJ's?

    • I think kfc nuggets are best and mcdonalds second. hj is oily and awful. I love zinger fillets.

  • Any news on QLD separately owned KFCs doing this deal?

  • +3

It starts today. Well in WA.

    • +2

Confirmed when I went to grab some $1 chips this arvo :(
The chips are back to normal price ($2.95) and the nugget deal is in effect.

      • +2

at least the transition is seamless. i'd be twitching until the 18th

  • It's $10 on the online menu: https://kfc.com.au/menu/

  • Why can't NZ KFC do this!!! No point with sheep jokes but I'm australian.

  • +4

Ground chicken carcas? Ok. On KFC site - 'Our signature Kentucky Nuggets are made with 100% breast chicken' ..why not sue them if you're so sure.. Or shelf the conspiracy theories..

    • -7

You are right Cobrakai. Please forgive me. I'm sure KFC use only the finest organically sourced local ingredients.

I will be much more careful in the future to 'shelf' these silly theories.

      • -4

My mum always told me "you will never win an argument with a moron" hehe

        • +9

an argument? whos arguing? its obvious who the moron is here.

        • -1

@cobrakai: Yes I'm clearly the moron that eats non caged meat, lol

        • +2

She was right :) Don't bother trying.

        • @Scorpiogirl: Trying what?

        • @bargainslut: Tallking about your mother's advice. I agree.

        • -2

@Scorpiogirl: Ah yes:) I suppose it just seems odd that people would eat caged chickens that are forced fed GM foods. I also remember lots of people eating horse meat for years thinking it was beef. It's ok to question things:)

      • +1

hey.. im only pasting whats stated on their website.. care to tells us your source? I wouldnt eat it more than once a month but there's a LOT of urban myths going around about fast food that are wrong..

        • -2

Fast food is wrong, period. Neg away little ones:)

        • -3

well if you copied and pasted it from the website it much be true:)

  • +2

Had this for lunch. Added a large chips and 600ml pepsi for an extra $5.

    The regret is real.

    • your are the ozbb mvp

wait until you go to the toilet… the struggle is real

  • I saw this advertised on a vinyl banner out the front of the KFC at Victor Harbor, SA.
    It must be available already.

  • $1 chips now not available due to this. I preferred the $1 chips.

  • +1

Already available in ACT Canberra centre

  • wouldnt you be better off buying a roast chicken for $10?

    24 nuggets sounds excessive

    • +2

Chickin nuggets is like my family.

  • KFC at Maroubra was selling the nuggets deal yesterday already. Dinner made easy!

  • Got some today and they were great. Should add this was at Kingston store in Tassie so you can remove the receipt Tassie description as well :)

  • I saw the vinyl banner at the KFC in Nunawading VIC. Had a quick look on the KFC Express app and saw this under the new items, so I'm quite sure this deal is already out in VIC. Gonna give it a go tomorrow.

  • I saw this advertised on tv but missed the ad, figured it must already be available if they are advertising it already

  • If you guys wants cheap nuggest, you should visit the USA..

50 nuggets at McDonalds was $10 + tax, so a couple of years ago it was like $11.

I knew I wasn't going to feel that well eating that many so got 20 for $5.

Wendy's sold 4 nuggets for $1 all day every day..

It's not surprising America has an obesity problem, I'd more than likely have one too if I lived there.
