      Good question jv, updating now!

      • Thanks. Any deal for Bali?

        • No at the moment, don't have a Bali SIM but we are looking!

        • Grapari are a registered seller of Telcomsel (inc. Simpati) products in Bali. There are branches in Bali, one being at Bali Galleria and one in Poppies 2 (open 24hrs). They do not scam or overcharge like many 'kiosks' or roadside sellers do. For IDR70,000 (in total and inc. SIM cost) you'll have around 1.5GB and 10,000 call credit (from memory). SIMS are only worth max IDR 20,000 anyway but many 'kiosks' will start at IDR 150,000+. Data is called 'bonus' and credit is known as 'Pulsa'. Possibly valid for a month but SIMS remain active so can take back next time and just recharge. Can recharge anywhere but you pay a small commission to the seller, which should be signposted, No commission from Grapari stores.

      • if I buy now, then my travel to New Zealand would for 2016. will that work ? Would this NZ SIM valid till next June ?

        • Honestly it is but we recommend buying no more than 3-4 months before your travels. A lot can and does change in the telecommunications world!

        • +1

No need to be in a hurry to buy for NZ, or to buy from these resellers unless you actually get a better deal than from the providers - all rates are online. You can just get a sim at the airport, it's easy. Picked one up at Christchurch last week at 1 am.

          Spark, 1.5 GB 4G data, 1 month, 29NZD.

I guess this deal has calling credit, but who needs that honestly. Have some Skype credit handy, and your Aussie number on roaming for any emergencies. The 1.5 GB data is what matters.

        • @scynaz: Thanks. You hit the point!

        • @Hayeswei: you can get this deal at the airport and it includes 200minutes of call time to Australia. Quick and easy to purchase at the Vodafone counter.

          http://www.vodafone.co.nz/travel-sim/

Depends if you want mostly data or want to make calls locally or home.

  • Thanks OP for responding my post. :)
    I am def getting one.

    • +10

      I am def

Not much need for a phone card then…

  • weird, selected Thai and it's showing as $19 and not $12 as posted

    • It costs $12 in Thailand, we import it, pay taxes ect so our usually price is $19.
With this sale it is $8, if you apply the code during check out the price will go down to $8.

      • SUB TOTAL $19.00
        Coupon: crazythai8 -$8.00 [Remove]
        Shipping $1.95
        Grand Total (GST Inclusive) $12.95

        • +1

It doesn't go down to $8.
Still a reasonable price given the AUD / THAI exchange rates of late. I would expect to pay 300 baht for something similar over there which would be about AUD $12. Buying in advance just makes it convenient.

OP, my order number is 2446, please feel free to refund the overcharge if what you say above is correct.

        • +1

@Risto: Sorry Risto, will refund the difference tomorrow for you!

        • @TravelSIMSDirect: Did you get around to the refund mate?

        • @Risto: Replying to myself. Yes. They did get around to the refund. Faith in humanity restored.

  • +3

You got a typo on your website:

"We are committed to getting to know each of our customers and being their for them before, during and after their trip. "

It's being THERE for them. not their.

    • +2

Ohh how embarassing! Haha. Thanks for the heads up edwinlin88!

  • Any deals for the USA? I would need two sim cards from the 9th of September.

    • +1

Hey mate, at the moment we have our fixed price for the Simple Mobile 2GB card ($29) and T-Mobile 5GB for $44 - both are about 50-60% off RRP in AUD!

      • Ordered. Thanks!

        • Hello

This comment is in no way reference to the service of TSD rather than reporting regarding the carrier

I used the simple mobile sim on a recent trip and have to say the speed and coverage was not what I expected. There is probably more congestion there although it was a painful crawl at times to load simple things like maps and Internet banking. I did not use for music

When it worked it was great and the call inclusions were fantastic, it was just saying that depending on the level of expectation it is worth pointing this out. Using my Optus sim in Australia upon return feels light years ahead.

TSD were great to deal with and another family member had no issues using 3G on her older phone. Perhaps I am too fussy

        • @chrig: Thanks for the feedback and sorry you had to experience that. It may have been settings on the phone not optimized with the sim card or it just may have been a bad or congested area. Hopefully we can make it up to you next time :)

        • Simple Mobile worked OK for me in LA and Las Vegas the last 10 days. They use the T-Mobile network so it just depends on how good coverage in your local area is. In the areas I visited I was on T-Mobile LTE a lot of the time and speeds were generally decent.

  • Can this sim be bought from any shop in Sydney?

    • Not to our knowledge, at least not the same cards with this sort of pricing.

  • Just bought the Japan 14 days one, hope everything works well

  • Hi rep, I will be travelling to Japan next year in late Feb. Will I be able to purchase a SIM for that time period?
Also, how long will this deal last for?
    Thanks!

    • Same here. Count me in for something around then also please.

    • Hi rep, similar situation. I'm in no hurry to get mine for Japan, so if I can purchase but wait for the later batch I'm happy to grab a 14 day.

      • Hi guys, you can order in advance but the future you order in advance the long you will wait to receive it in the mail. Basically we will keep a preorders list and we usually get cards with validity for 2-3 months in advance, so you will likely get your cards between 6-9 weeks before your travels. So if it is in early February, you may receive your card in early December for example.

Either that or wait closer to your travel dates and purchase then.

        Thanks!

        • +1

          Hi,
I'm going to Japan in November, can I order this in advance?

          Thanks

        • Noticed SIMs need to be activated by Oct 15. If we were to order now will they still be valid for use at end of Dec/Jan?
          Thanks for your assistance.

        • @chl15: You will be prompted to enter your travel dates on our site, anything after Oct. 15 will be a preorder for a future batch that is valid during your travel dates. Will likely get to you in the mail about a month before your departure.

  • The Thai sim card only goes down to $11 after the discount code crazythai8 is applied, not $8. Could you correct your post please or fix the website? Thanks.

    • Updated, sorry about that!

  • Oh man, the prices really have gone up and now a postage charge?

    • +1

The Australian doller hasn't been favourable for anyone lately :(

  • Travelling to Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia next week. What's the best SIM to get to cover all 3 countries?

    • Besides a international roaming sim (like WorldSIM) there isn't a prepaid valuable SIM that covers all three - at least not to my knowledge!

  • +2

What are the expiry dates on the Thai AIS SIMs?

    • +1

I believe the expire is something like mid-2016 so plenty of time!

      • +1

Do any documentation need to be provided? Like ID proof?

        • just went to Phuket last month, Purchased the sim at the airport for 200bath and configured by the staff .. no ID required. It was on Truemove

  • +1

Are there any tethering limits on the 14 days Docomo SIM card? Will I be able to tether even after using up the 4G data? I'm going to Japan from August 31-September 13 so this looks perfect, but tethering is a must for me.

    • +1 on the tethering question. Travelling to Japan 4 September… will the SIM get to Canberra before then?

      • Tethering is unlimited, once the 4g is used it will be only 3g speeds.

        • Thanks rep. The Google site doesn't match up with the bands you have on your website for the Nexus 5. Web chatter suggests otherwise… Will the Nexus 5 (rest of world) work in Japan?

  • How soon will the current batch of JP Sims arrive?

    • Current stock will be dispatched next business day, regular or express post available.

  • Are Japan sims data only or can you make calls too?

    • Yes data only!

  • What about Europe? Greece, to be specific. Too hard???

    • Still working on a comprehensive, value for money option for Aussies at the moment!

      • How long until you have a solution? I leave for Greece on the 20th….:-( .. !!

  • Do you any deal for Europe/UK? I will go in Sept.
    Thanks.

    • Not at the moment sorry.

  • If I order 2, do I get a cheaper price, like less postage?
I plan to go to NZ in Oct. So I order it now, or later?
    Thanks

    • You can order it now or late, not sure if same price will be available later.
Shipping price is added once per transactions, so if you ordered 1 or 10 in the same transaction, the price will still be $1.95.
      Thanks.

  • +1

Also for people who want to stay 14+ days.

    http://www.traveljapan.com.au/japandatasim

$49 + 7 postage can get you 30 days 2GB (expires in 30days without recharge), which is also rechargeble (Y2000 for extra 2GB).

And this is even consider expensive if you can buy other travel sim locally at Kansai/ Narita airport.

Anyway, getting a travel sim and use Google Translate/ Map is the best way to travel Japan.

    • I use these guys when I go to Japan but itbargainhunter is correct it's cheaper to buy from the airport.

      https://www.econnectjapan.com/products/sim/

They do 3GB for 30 days for 4700 yen (50AUD approx.)

they deliver to your hotel for pickup when you arrive.

      • +3

I've been using B-mobile for their 14days unlimited/ 1GB SIM for many times.

Price is now 4196 Yen pick up in Postal Office in major airports but need to order online in advance.

        http://www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/purchase.html

For for 14days this OP price (I won't call it a deal) is OK.

        • Thanks for the info guys! Some do find our Japan style better suited, it is a hard place to find a card that suits to everyones needs. But valuable info, will use it to hunt better products for Aussies at great prices. Thanks again guys :)

        • @TravelSIMSDirect:

Where are the Japan SIMs shipped from? I fly out in a week, just wondering if I'll receive them in time if I order today.

        • @dajackal: Out of Melbourne mate.

      • Do you know if there is a daily cap on the 3GB for 30 days SIM?
The other plans are 'unlimited' but you only get 3G speeds for the first 100MB used per day.

        • I didnt notice one. I had about 1GB left before I was leaving and was trying to use it all up.

Might pay to double check with them, just in case.

  • So wrt data, and "Internet 1.5 GB with max speed then speed at 64 Kbps for 7 days"
Does that mean 1.5GB to use over any period, then you pay for the next 7 days? at 2 Baht/MB?
I just need a 10 day data plan for a Thailand holiday, say 3-5GB. Advice appreciated.

  • I'll be travelling to Japan for 2 weeks at the start of December. Will you have an unlimited data sim similar to this deal for that period? Thanks in advance OP!

    • Yes we definitely will, you can either preorder now by purchasing and entering travel dates as December or wait closer to the date! Can't guarantee same prices due to the crazy Aussie dollar atm

      • Nice. It wouldn't fluctuate that badly though will it? You know, within $5-10 I can handle. Thanks for the quick response too.

  • what's my best option if I'm going to be in Japan for 3 weeks?
    Can i recharge it locally?

    • Would be cheaper to do a combo between the 2 cards as mentioned below.

    • +1

If you can survive 2G data for 3 weeks, buy the 2G 30 days travel sim as suggested by itbargainhunter would be cheaper.

      • more than enough! cheers!

  • Hey Mate, do you have 21 days for Japan. I'm going there on Nov 2015 for 3 weeks

    • Unfortunately just the 7 or 14 day cards at the moment. Customers sometimes get a combine of both to make up their trip.

    • See gm3stevens's reply above

  • any discounts for the USA at all i need 6 sim cards for a family trip. :)

    • Hey mate our SIMPLE Mobile 2GB SIM and 5GB T-Mobile are on fixed sale for the time being at over 50% off RRP on our site. Because it is heavily reduced already significant discounts are hard but might be able to do a little bit more for a group discount. Will PM you.

  • I bought a couple of your Docomo 14 day data SIMs for Japan and put one in my phone to make sure the phone really was unlocked. Have I created a problem for myself?? (Documentation with SIM says insert AFTER arriving in Japan).

    • You should be ok mate. It gets activated upon first use, it wouldn't have been used I don't think just by inserting it.

  • Hi, I bought a USA SIM last time (SIMple T-Mobile) and it arrived (fast!) with no information…

    • How do I recharge it when the 30 days is finished? And how much will it cost?
    • How do I monitor how much credit/data is left on it?
    • Is there some sort of user-guide I'm missing?

Also, I am in the USA for 3 months, if I want to switch to AT&T SIM after the T-Mobile one runs out is that possible via TSD while I am still overseas?

    Thanks!

    • +1

      Hi!
The card can be recharge via the Simple Mobile web site or in one of Simple Mobiles resellers in the USA (there are many!).
To check data usage and balances, simply SMS “Usage” to 611611 while you are in the States.
We are currently working user guides that we send out but at the moment all the info is via our web site.
      http://travelsimsdirect.com/product-category/usa/simple-mobi…
Under FAQs and More Info you will likely find a lot of info that you might find handy :)
Thanks for the feedback and hope that helps!

  • "Current stock of Docomo Japan SIMS must be activated by October 15th. We are now taking preorders past this date: these orders will be dispatched between 1-3 weeks as new stock comes in."

Hi Rep, just want to confirm - if I purchase a sim now when will it be delivered to Melbourne metro?

    • We will dispatch it next business day from the order. We are in Melbourne so it usually takes 103 business days (usually 1-2 though).

  • +1

Great deal! Bought a bunch for a group going to Thailand. Bought before from these guys and never an issue! Thanks!

    • Thanks you just brodened the deal…

  • Hi Rep, I am flying out on the 20/08/15 (JAPAN), is it still possible to get the micro sim by express post?

    • Heck yes it is!

  • hi rep, i ordered, only got a email from paypal regarding my payment but no invoice / email confirmation from TSD. is this correct?

    • At the moment yes, we are still fixing the complete process through this new site. Our developer has been very lazy sadly :(

      • Weird, I found the confirmation mail from TSD sitting in Spam.
