    Which Australia Post?

    • Saw it at Collingwood post office.

    • A small handful @ Pt Adel, says an associate: Std & MicroSIM; No Nano.

PS Anyne know if these work in non-Apple gear?

  • Can this be turned into google play store credit?

    • Yes. You can activate these on any pre-paid offer. If the option isn't there during the online activation process LiveChat can do it for you.

I thought it can only be used to buy an app, music, etc… how do you turn it into credit?

          Well technically you're correct SoaZ.

      • not always works, sometimes staff refused to do it for me.

          Racism, I bet.

My accent may have got a City of Chas.Sturt (metro-Adelaide) staffer
to REFUSE our group Rental of a Room with a Projector, for a talk on
trade-offs of Old Nuclear Reactor tech vs New, Liquid-Fuel Reactors
          (ie, MSRs).

Appealing her decision to her boss & a level above did NOTHING
to get us a Room Rental at the West Lakes Community Centre.

They were prepared to LOSE rentals, rather than quash the BAN on our
rental use of the City's ONLY rentable room equipped with a Projector!

(Chas.Sturt seems to have an Australia for Australians (ONLY?)
flavor, despite all the small bulletin boards around+beside Port Rd,
with the words: We are Charles Sturt.)

PS Our group even had an Office in the City of Charles Sturt(!)

"Locals Only & No Nukes" we believe, based on reports from insider
(not in City staff, but a past user of this centre).

The staffer is known as the centre's Gatekeeper to its 2 rooms.

          @IVI:

I think this is better posted to the "incoherent rant" section of the forums.

Try reading it again, with an eye to increasing Justice in AU
(or slightly more Rental-income for that Council's coffers ;-)

Yes. Activate on Data Pass offer. You'll initially get 3GB and $30 recharge credit.

      • thank you for that!

        • How long is that credit valid for?

        • +1

          @ash2000:

          30 days unless you recharge.

      • i activate my prepaid data pass and put it into pocket wifi
how can i use the Credits for Google play shopping?thanks

        • The SIM needs to be placed into an Android phone or tablet to enable Telstra Billing within your Google Wallet.

        • @sween64: i see that's why i am always unsuccessful,thanks

Essentially same offer here after cash back https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/205519 with free home delivery. No need to waste time looking stock at Australia Post, which also have shorter expiry dates too.

Depends, one could argue it's faster to buy 5 (or more?) from auspost than to fill in the Telstra online form 5+ times with two different credit cards.

      • Why different credit cards? I have done 6 online with Telstra using all the same details. SIMs arrived within 2 days.

        • I thought there was a limit of about 3 transactions per card, but perhaps not with a card you already use for post paid services?

Either that or their payment gateway is just intermittently flaky.

        • @Lukian: I do have post paid services but I with any card at random.

        • i bought a sim when cashrewards had that cashback deal. i still have not received the sim yet. they sent me a message weeks ago and asked to present sort of id in store. completely forget about it until recently when i checked my credit card statement. they charged me, and keep the money. after that message, nothing has happened.

        • @alwayseric:
I just remembered I signed up for this Cashback deal as well and haven't received the SIM pack. Checked through my credit card statement and my Cashback transactions but can't find it. What does it show on your credit card statement?

        • @Kiwires: i was charged for the sim card ($15 iirc). contacted the telstra last week and was told to submit THREE id documents. hate the hassles and asked them to cancel the order. then she transferred me to the credit card department, that woman asked me for receipt, so i sent it through email. nothing has happened since then. seriously, it is like WTF! the attitude of the csr was pretty bad too.

        • @alwayseric:
Pay $15 and get $10 Cashback deal? That's the same one I got. How does the transaction show on your statement?

  • Happy to be wrong but I would be really surprised if many of these around. When was the last time iPads used micro sims? 2012? 2013? But I'll try my luck at my local post office regardless :)

Edit: no stock. They haven't seen this pack (white starter pack) for a long time. New ones are orange/pink.

  • Just checked in Sydney ( martin place ) actually the deal expired 28 June 2015( Check the fine print ).

  • That looks like one of the very old sim packs - a clearance item.
Don't think they sell them anymore.

  • just picked up the last 2 in canberra at lunch time. the expiry date is 20 Aug 2015. can i have them extended?

  • Picked up 10 of these bad boys At my local store, Cheers OP! eBay here we come!

  • What the best way to use these to prolong the expiry telephony or data and minimise standing costs? Would Telstra be willing to combine the credit from two of these for 5-6GB of data with 365 days expiry? Is the iPad restriction still in place since they now charge the same for all devicse?
