    Insane, great find!

  • how do focalprice compare with dealextreme for their shipping time? i haven't ordered from focalprice before

    dealextreme have a similar price: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.30952 -

but ordering from dealextreme now just before xmas it'd probably take about a month to arrive here :/

    • +1

Dealextreme and Focalprice both use Hong Kong Post.

So unless you get EMS they will have similar shipping time.

Focalprice in my experience has a faster processing time (the time it takes for them to give the item to the hong kong post)

  • Whoa wait. Is this genuine? The genuine Xbox adapter's antenna is somewhat grey-ish not blue-ish like Focalprice's.

      • +1

        Not this again..

When the 360 controller from focalprice was put on here heaps of people said they are fake yet hadn't bought one themselves. I bought one and wouldn't have a clue which of my two controllers came from focal and which came in the box with the 360. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/14871

How is the LED on in that picture? Because its Microsoft's fancy marketing picture.

Heres a picture some joe has taken of his wireless controller: http://hardware.teamxbox.com/screenshots/screen-hires/42522/… best compare that one to the focal picture..

        • Yeah dude… Relax. No one's disputing the fact that it'll work. I bought one of their controllers as well and even though it was in the Microsoft packaging, the controller itself was clearly used. It was yellowy compared to one that came with my Xbox.

I bought one of their Charge and play packs as well and I buy stuff off DealExtreme and FocalPrice all the time. Their Charge and Play kit for Xbox 360 controllers give nowhere near half the time as the genuine ones do. I bought 2 packs. One lasts barely 30 minutes.

It might be a different situation with the WiFi adapter.

I'm just saying its not the genuine one. Then again, you get what you paid for I guess. It's just that it already takes about 2 weeks to a month for your item to arrive, and if you get one that's screwed up, the return process and the redelivery times will become a real annoyance.

The genuine one looks obviously different. Check out any store that sells it. DSE has it for 99.

          • @ragflan: And I'm not talking about the LED. I think it's pretty obvious that an unconnected USB device with the LED on is just a marketing image to make it look pretty. It doesn't have to be said.

        • They're picturing official MS packaging and products. If you received a generic/third party products, you've got grounds for bait n switch.

The other alternative is that they're selling counterfeit products. I've had a 360 since they were first released and my controller is not yellowing in the least. A quick google search shows that they have and do sell certain counterfeit products (i.e. Chinese knockoffs) See: http://forums.focalprice.com/TopicList.aspx?threadid=6408 amongst other threads.

          Buyer beware.

      • Looks like white balance to me..
The "grey" aerial also has a white body
the "black" aerial has a grey body..

360 also has a grey like plastic like that in the focalprice dongle so it matches xbox colour.. the black looks is not on white xboxes/controllers at all

Finally, I'm not aware of there being any generic 360 dongles..
BUT if there were, focalprice are one of those likely to stock them and not tell you!

  • I do hope they start selling the newer N models soon….

    • What do the N models offer over these versions? and what do you think the price will be for the new N model?

    • It's about 100USD in America, so I'd assume we'll get it for 120-150.

N gives you higher b/w (not usually a problem with current line speeds in Aus) and further range.

  • Dealextreme have just released something similar

    https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32544 (white)

    and https://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.32545 (black)

    Cheaper too :)

      Definitely looks generic.

Genuine would be the better option for the sake of 4 bucks, I'd imagine.

      • +1

The problem is we don't even know that FocalPrice's is even genuine at all.

        • Like I state above, we have to assume they're genuine because there is a genuine box pictured. My above post merely meant to be a warning for potential buyers, not a complete deterrent or a statement telling everyone that these are fakes.

I've also posted a link to another thread (see my above comment) where they've sold counterfeit products in the past. I've refrained from voting positive/negative until someone can 100% verify the authenticity of the product (given their obvious track record). There are laws against this including Trade Mark, Patents and Passing Off. If I were a potential buyer, I would first send them an email asking them to confirm the product's authenticity, make the purchase — if it's fake, follow up via all necessary means.

Like I said though, we have to assume they're legitimate. My post was in regards to some easily obtained counterfeit SD cards (also found some headphones). Both were priced unrealistically. This is not an unrealistic price drop as the Wireless N adaptor should be coming to Australia some time in the new year.

  • How is this any differnt from the fake controller that focalprice are selling:
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/14871

The cheapest I've seen them in OZ is $89.99 + shipping:
    http://www.game-lane.com.au/xbox-360/accessories/microsoft-o…

Most go for $99.95 or more.

If I'm buying one, It'll be from a reputable Australian retailer that will take returns if the product is not genuine.

What's stopping some genius aussie from importing a bunch of these for $35-$45 each and selling them for $75 to suckers who think its genuine or a bargain?

Support original MS produts. Support Australian businesses.

    • they are OEM products not fakes or "genuine".

      • How are they OEM? Do you even know what it means? original equipment manufacturer.

Microsoft don't make them in black. They don't manufacture these. They have Microsoft labels on them but are not made/licensed/authorized by Microsoft. Is that not the very definition of fake/clone?

        • my post was about the white ones not the black you have miss read this post because on focalprice.com there is NO black one! on deal extreme there is a black one! my post is about the white one on focalprice.com!

    • -1

Did any of the people in that controller deal who are saying they are fake actually buy one from focal price? Dealextreme and focalprice are not the same. I bought the controller from focalprice, as I said earlier I wouldnt have a clue which of my two controllers came with the 360 and which one came from focalprice.

      • +1

Unfortunately, that's not to say that the controller is genuine. I import quite a lot from China, and I can tell you, if you want anything cloned, head to Asia.

      • +1

i looked on the old deal and 2 people said they received theirs and that there was no difference but its upto you

  • Dealextreme also sell the microsoft usb wireless adaptors for pc (use controllers on a computer thing). They come in white, black, and clear plastic casings. Microsoft only ever made them in white. I wouldn't trust any of them to be genuine ones. The wifi dongle may work, but it is probably a clone.

The black wifi adaptor for sale @ dealextreme proves my point. It has genuine looking labels etc like the white one, except there was NEVER a black wifi dongle released by microsoft.

  • I think this is great value even if it's a generic which I'm assuming it is (someone confirm). My only concern is that MS may not like you using generic pieces of hardware.

I'm keen for MS to bring the cost down of their hardware so hopefully if competition does occur we can see price drops in this accessory.

  • anyone received theirs yet?

let me know when you do cos im waiting too!

  • Yes I have received mine today! I was a bit skeptical, but at least this time it worked out…. phew…

    • does it work or freezes ur xbox like richards ?

  • yeah i got mine just then… looks very legit.

    ill try it tonight.

    • works good and fitted perfectly no hassles! +1

  • Is the product genuine?

  • bugger its starting to cause my xbos to freeze

    • is it the adapter or teh console itself ?
