Buy a skin (tool only) and receive a free 2.0Ah battery and charger.

The impact driver is currently offered by masters for $189! (This may include 2 batteries; however this could easily be masters not understanding a 2.0Ah battery as distinct from 2 batteries…)

How are they compared to green bosh?

      What is a green bosh?

      • +1

As always, useless comment from you.

        • @dosada jv just struggles with languages other than English.

          @deal88:

Not an excuse, English is my third language which i am the far worse in than in the other two.

I believe he has some other problems

          @dosada:
I don't think these would be much different to the Green Bosch tools (Though they will be yellow)
          They look pretty well made.

for $120 for a drill, battery and charger it's a pretty good deal.

jv is just being a tool, your English is better than his.

I believe he has some other problems

          Many……

In regards to your question the Stanley tool would fall in between Bosch green (consumer) and Bosch blue (trade).

        • @Maverick-au:

Thank you, probably not worth the update for me than. Will stick to my Bosch.

        • @Maverick-au:

          lol

        • @dosada:

not worth the update for me than.

          huh ???

        • @jv:

          huh ???

I said that the Stanley falls in between the Bosch Green and Bosch Blue ranges, dosada replied that it's "probably not worth the update for me than".

What were you saying about your English being better!

How's their service? Are they total tools to deal with?

  • Nearest shop is 160km away. (Bunbury) Will Masters price-match?

      Not for a clearance.

Not really familiar with Stanley's power tools (Panasonic Fanboy here) but that's a pretty trick deal.

  • According to the Masters website, it already comes with 2 batteries and a charger.

Does that mean Total Tools gives you another battery and charger?

  • Total Tools are skins only so you get the tool nothing else BUt the promo they have is you get as a bonus 1x changer and 1x battery

    • Ok. That makes a Masters pricematch a bit harder.

  • Ok i called a Total Tools store be aware they are having supply issues with Stanley so some stores may not have stock of the battery and charger

  • I love my (non fatmax) tools with the 4-5 ah batteries.
But when they are giving batteries away, I guess you could have 2ah batteries and chargers all over the house.

  • The $300 deal from Masters for the kit was still a good deal

    • that was a brilliant deal, made even better by the fact i'd been waiting a good 6 months to convince myself to splash on a battery combo set. My old man is still bitter he hesitated on that deal.

Im considering the jigsaw or circular skin and having a third battery is always useful.

  • Yeah im a bit suss on it, I want to order online but im worried Ill come and pick it up a week from now and they'll only be a skin there. I guess I could call them after I order and make sure they bundle the battery and charger.

  • Looking at the Hammer drill skin advertised for $119 but the link leads to a normal drill driver so not sure if they will honour the hammer drill at that price. The hammer drill kit is $189 which includes two batteries and a case.

    • So I went to TT in Thebarton, SA and found the hammer drills tagged as drill drivers for $119. However, they claimed they had run out of free batteries on the first day of this promo. To compensate a little, they reduced the price of the hammer drill Kit down to $168 which I ended up buying. I reckon the second battery and case may well be worth extra $49.

  • Just ordered the oscillating tool and called to confirm they still had the battery/charger. All good. It's been put aside for collection.

  • Would an impact driver like this be good for undoing large nuts 30-36mm in size torqued to approx 150nm max?

    • +1

unlikely its rated at 180nm though. I would doubt it would be good for 1/2 this for old rusty nuts and bolts. would be better off with a breaker bar with a bit of pipe slipped over the end for leverage. I doubt this would actually even crack wheel nuts.

      • Fair enough, did some research last night and found out for myself that there is indeed a difference between an impact driver and an impact wrench the latter being more suited to the tasks I was describing. Till a deal for one comes along, breaker bar + pipe it is :)

        • Yeah you probably want an impact wrench with a 1/2 drive. I don't think those come cheap because there's not many corners to be cut with a tool like that. It's the kind of thing that is going to get worked hard.

  • It appears their tool skins are no longer listed online.

    • Yeah I got one from coopers plains yesterday and apparently stock is so low they removed from online. Also it's supposed to be a way of getting suckers into store and getting them to leave with a lot more tools. It was an okay deal for someone like me who has a good brand drill and wanted an impact kit on the side. He redid the receipt to include battery as well because as guessed that was a small hassle.
