Sony Floor Standing MUTEKI MHCV3 $320 @ Dick Smith

120
WEEKEND45

Hi as many know can be hard to sift out a deal on the D.S coupon blitz. I bought this and am listening to it as I type. Very happy with price and quality (no claim to be an audiophile but much better than anything in the house here). Original coupon post

Worth noting it has a CD slot so the hundreds of lame CD's I have picked up over the years can now be dusted off - or can bluetooth music from your phone

Cheers hope someone benefits from this

  • Specs are confusing, even on the Sony site. The specify a '2 way' system, but a review here http://www.productreview.com.au/p/sony-mhc-v3.html (and the picture) says it's a three way with 2x tweeters, 2x mids and 1x woofer.
Should be good in the right situation!

It can still produce this if has a decent set of capacitors, which used to be common in larger amplifiers years ago. These days I am not so sure that they would be fitting that much to something like this.

Fundamentally the W RMS figure might only be for the length of a drum beat, but it clearly can't do it for a continuous tone like an earthquake rumble sound.

      • can imagine the testing procedure at Sony……… 720wrms @ 99% distortion

      • stop riding them. It is misleading. They lied to you. Yes, your brand/master lied to you.
